I always felt Mike's father was the more reasonable and decent one compared to the other ones. His only crime is being unable to control his shithead son (even tho he himself tried to stop him back in the chocolate river, when Mike started to break stuff).
Yeah, he admitted early on in the movie that the biggest problem with Mike was that he grew up too quickly and he doesn't seem to understand his video game obsession. In other words he's just a boomer.
