gay
got
>Goodfellas is unironically a great movie
>Penn is unironically Reddit incarnate, wearing a lolbertarian mask
What point are you trying to make?
considered one of the best movies of all time
Something I notice about this board is that there's nonstop contrarianism towards films that are known as great where people whine about them constantly, but when it comes to the usual corporate slop that's raping cinema today (Disney, Star Wars, Marvel) all of you gays suddenly get defensive about them.
Stay mad that people don't like your shitty movie. Pedophiles congratulate each other and praise their shitty movies, it's okay that we make fun of them and their movies.
I think it’s just younger and younger people coming here now. Time to move on
zoomers
although some of them are okay and not gay
Zoomers are seething because deep down they know the media they have is garbage. MCU, nu Wars, no real great films or tv shows, no comedies, shitty mumble rap music, etc. They know they have no culture so all they can do is shit on the superior past.
That's due to some posters that think having a discussion with any substance is reddit-tier, never mind how delusional that is, and are just here to post nonsense. They probably wouldn't know a good movie/tv show if it walked up behind them while they were standing on plastic.
All these mafia movies would be like 10 minutes long if you cut out the superfluous scenes of fat old men sitting at a table eating spaghetti. God I fricking hate Italians.
scorcese was heavily inspired by scarface (the 80s one) and in every one of his assembly-line mob flicks he just retells that story with less glamor, less intensity, and more greasy ugly dagos
That's the only thing interesting about these movies though. Seeing someone innocent get inducted into the life, seeing their day to day goings on, seeing how they handle friends and enemies, seeing the wealth the pizzaz, and eventually seeing the dark side where they conduct hits and eventually get turned on and die or turn snitch. Best part of Goodfellas is the first 2/3rds
How does showing a character eating spaghetti reveal their innocence to the audience?
I'm not talking about the food, but the general fluff they add showing the day to day life. Since you were obviously exaggerating with how much runtime you attribute to eating in the movies.
Some of the best parts of Sopranos are the boys just sitting around eating and bullshitting
i've only seen this and the wolf of wall street
does scorsese just make the same film over and over again?
Pretty much. Casino is the most egregious. It is quite literally just Goodfellas with different actors.
Yeah and don't even get me started on The Last Temptation of Christ. Yet another boring mafia flick set in the 50s...
Yikes!
all scorcese films are propaganda trying to convince us that the italian race has intelligence and interiority equivalent to whites, but we know that isn't true
my take on the propaganda that scorcese crime flicks pushes is
>the crime life is... LE BAD!
>but it's still better than yours, pleb!
scorsese will be remembered as one of the greats alongside kubrick and kurosawa you fricking contrarian plebs
even if not for his overwhelmingly good filmography, his dedication of years of his life to the discovery, preservation and amplification of international film will see him recognized by artists for decades to come
They played that movie along with casino ad nauseam on basic cable like 10+ years ago, why are zoomers so slow? Nobody gives a shit about those movies anymore.
It helped to pioneer the same formula that a bunch of shows successfully used in the so-called recent "Golden Age of Television". Basically, violent antiheroes doing exciting things to a semi-ironic pop soundtrack, with a thin veneer of "this is artistic because it is slightly more deep than capeshit" layered over it. Nothing against Scorcese by the way, I respect his work, I just don't get the love that this movie gets. Same with Mann's Heat, by the way.
It's not a crime movie, moron. It's a low level thug mafia movie.
mafia movies are a subset of crime movies
>mafia movies are a subset of crime movies
? Is Analyze This a crime movie too? No. Just because a movie has crime in it doesn't make it a crime movie.
