Honestly, this is one of the few time it's both appropriate and of benefit to the production. It's either that or a handbag gay spending hours zooming in on Ken's crotch. Take your pick.
Barbie Life In The Dreamhouse
An old web series they used to make. Only legitimately funny thing the Barbie franchise has produced. Had a strong Toy Story vibe and made use of a certain amount of toy lore to build their universe. Possibly a bit too geared for older audiences, so got replaced by something more juvenile.
I had a look on YT. > Looking for the perfect outfit for her 43rd anniversary with Ken, and they're still dating.
lmao. This is actually kinda kino. It does seem geared toward older viewers, and definitely does not take itself seriously. > I will now probably watch the entire thing.
Plz kill me.
>This will be a fish-out-of-water story reminiscent of films like Splash, Enchanted and Big.
Margot Robbie had a letterboxd before she deleted it once people found out it was her. She had a watchlist that said "movies for Barbie" and they were: >The Young Girls of Rochefort >Splash >Puberty Blues >The Truman Show >The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
Barbie leaving Barbieland and has to live in the real world with disgusting, horrible people sounds pretty good. I don't even know how else you can make it a comedy
GG specifically wanted to direct this and was chosen to do so in order to smash the patriarchy, attack traditional female roles, etc. Also, it will not be funny. High concept trash and a betrayal of what the toy meant to millions.
But, hey, money and subversion - Hollywood's two favorite things.
> Toy literally made to appeal to girls. > Not a trad female archetype.
Ok, so she didn't spend any time in the kitchen, but it looks like you should likely take your own advice.
Have they said what will be the rating of the movie? Because I could see it turning into an R-rated thriller where she snaps and ends up stabbing ken or something like that and since truman show is being hinted, maybe she escapes barbieland or whatever and kills the creeps watching her.
Who is this movie even aimed at, kids or adults? I don't really get it. I feel like it would have to be pretty subversive and satirical to get made in the present climate, but I think a Barbie movie played completely straight with absolutely zero irony might be the most subversive possible thing right now.
I think adults, but with the rumored PG rating maybe not. I thought they were making Legally Blonde-type comedy, but seeing this

Surely she will have some barefoot scenes right??
if we dont get dogs eye view of her painting her toenails we RIOT
Based. That's the only thing that matters. I want a scene with her and Ryan doing picrel but barefoot so bad bros.
Is gonna be shit and Ken will be gay again
Is it a comedy?
If they're smart, they'll take their cues from BLitDH. If they're dumb, they'll make a generic Hollywood flick with Barbie characters.
>blitdh
You what?

Did that really need an acronym?
>doesn't know current barbieverse acronyms
>thinks that acronym is so well known that he can just drop it without explanation
Not all of us watch little girl movies, homosexual.

Is this like the scooby doo movie where it’s aimed at adults? If not then why do you care about a kids movie?
The scooby doo movie is not aimed at adults moron, it’s aimed at kids but with some adult humor for the parents.
It will have Margot Robbie so it will kino my dick if you know what i mean i mean masturbation haha
i wonder why my barbie thread was deleted, kek
omg lmao lol
why was it?
i wonder
i don't know. maybe you posted nudes of Margot or talking about how nice her feet are
>being white and attractive aka having good genes and being healthy is…LE TOXIC AND OUTDATED AND…LE BAD!!!
Making up a person and then seething over them
barbie? more like Farbie
>This will be a fish-out-of-water story reminiscent of films like Splash, Enchanted and Big.

>The Truman Show
>The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
That sounds terrible.

You probably liked when the Smurfs did it.
I didn't even know they made a Smurfs movie but I doubt it had Robbie in it
her letterboxd was based. i wonder how many other celebrities have them
Uwe Boll once followed me on letterboxd just because I followed him for his funny deranged reviews
Unfortunately they banned him like a week later
I'd imagine most younger actors have one, the site has grown so much in the last few years
Because doing this will be too easy
But Cinemaphile told me she is a fridge
>Puberty Blues
SOUL
Never seen this before. Worth a watch?
Yeah it's decent.
>5 stars for Deliverance
What did she mean by this?
Kino taste. I love that movie
Also:
> battleship potemkin
>The Cabinet of dr. Caligari
>Frasier: "The Ski Lodge"
>Margot Robbie had a letterboxd before she deleted it once people found out it was her.
any link from the wayback machine site?

I can't believe they are going to ruin Barbie for us.

This movie should have been made in the 90s.
if you think barbie is an archetype of traditional femininity you need to have a nice day and your prostitute mother
> Toy literally made to appeal to girls.
> Not a trad female archetype.
Ok, so she didn't spend any time in the kitchen, but it looks like you should likely take your own advice.
>Greta Gerwig has a pretty good track record
Since when?
what movies have you seen where she's the writer or director?
Ladybird
Little Women
it will subvert what barbie is all about to be some boring feminist lecture (nag-athon)
Remember when they promoted Amy Schumer to be Barbie?
>Jennifer Lawrence linked with Sharon Tate in OUATIH
>Leaves because she's too ugly and gets replaced with Margot Robbie
>Amy Schumer linked with Barbie movie
>Leaves because she's too ugly and gets replaced with Margot Robbie
Margot can't keep getting away with it.
Based apex predator
Probably decided against her, because they'd have to use too much plastic for tie-in toys.
Have they said what will be the rating of the movie? Because I could see it turning into an R-rated thriller where she snaps and ends up stabbing ken or something like that and since truman show is being hinted, maybe she escapes barbieland or whatever and kills the creeps watching her.
I think I read somewhere it’s PG unfortunately
She looks old.
She looks fine to me
Greta looking cute
Yeah, I’ve always been a fan of her. Sneaky great breasts too
prove it
But anon…the mods warn me for even talking about breasts these days
>She looks old.
As if he couldn’t be a bigger Chad
He's me
He's literally me
How does he always end up being me in every single movie?!
Max Hardcore biopic when?
Is this from that gay cowboys movie or is he playing smithers?
I haven't seen Little Women but Lady Bird was not good.
how do you go from Academy Award nominated director to directing toy movies?
Goddammit. It’s going to be a kino isn’t it.
would be pretty funny if its kino, if its not itd still probably be pretty funny as a shit movie

Makes me think otherwise
Does she use her aussie accent in any movies?
ERA OF BIMBO IS NOW
This movie is going to shock you all
i heard theres a troony barby so i dont care about this movie anymore
Lol what by that pretentious israelite hipster gives her a good track record? Either bait or you’re a genuine homosexual
You can’t hurt me, anon
Reddit
moron
Is this going to be kino for someone that loves bimbofication?
Barbie was never about bimbos, you're thinking about Bratz Dolls
