The only reason he was in Fury Road at all was because George Miller didn't think anyone would watch a movie by him unless it was about either Mad Max, or talking animals.
It was an alright film that was a shitty sendoff to a recasting of a character that had been dead for almost 30 years.
Furiosa is just going to be the work of a burnt-out director who has nothing left to say, and never truly caught up with the times. Too bad, but we still have the old films, so it doesn't matter since none of us are planning to watch the new one anyway.
I saw a trailer for this with my gf the other day and we both thought it was an ad for a TV show until the titles came up at the very end. The special effects were just so shockingly bad. Absolutely appalling CGI, worse than any marvel movie, worse than plenty of TV shows for that matter. Just so, so horrible. Even scenes that must have included some practical effects looked fake because of how bad the CGI around them was. So, no, I don’t think there’s any chance in hell this is going to be good.

I'm expecting it to be considerably worse than Fury Road not because of the premise or female protagonist but because of what seems to be a major increase in the use of CGI compared to the previous film which was so refreshing and a true testament to the results of passionate stunt work and practical props. As long as there's still a significant amount of real stunts I won't be too disappointed but I worry about how successful they'll be in combining the two and worry that lacking CGI will make the real stuff count for so much less. Apart from that the prequel plot of Furiosa's life is interesting enough and Anna is cute and weird looking and just barely passes for a young Charlie but I'm excited to see more of the world and younger versions of Joe and the wasteland nobility.
All things considered I think it will be just good instead of amazing like Fury Road but I have enough faith in Miller to go into the theater expecting kino
