>Lacus seemingly giving a shot about anti-nuclear MS Treaty >Kira seemingly having a personality again as he's frustrated and pessimistic with the state of the world >Cagalli seems a lot calmer and mature instead of a perpetually confused puppy >Shinn!
Seems like a step in the right direction, at worst I think it'll be a case of too little too late
studio politics and Bandai meddling with his vision, if Cross Ange is what comes about from being a creative producer imagine what he'd do as a director now
>Bandai meddling with his vision
What "vision", you deluded imbecile? Every piece of information about SEED and Destiny make Fukuda seem like an utterly incompetent creator, who really didn't know what the frick he was doing, especially in Destiny. In fact, I'd dare say that Bandai gave more latitude to Fukuda than any other Gundam director outside of the bald coot himself.
Do you really think that whole crap about the Destiny Plan, or Shinn becoming a lame antagonist, was planned from the start?
>if Cross Ange is what comes about from being a creative producer imagine what he'd do as a director now
Cross Ange works because it's the trashiest thing you could do in a Sunrise anime. You can't do that sort of shit in Gundam.
>make an anime about 9/11 and US imperialism >it ends up being a Super Robot show with stock footage and the main protagonist's suit winning every mech fight
why did Tomino wish Fukuda good luck? he didn't have to do that for Imagawa
It's Destiny that's about the US response to 9/11. The Junius 7 Drop is literally the parallel to the 9/11 attacks.

A lot of the contemporary staff interviews mention 9/11 and the overall political climate of the day as a reference. For instance:
>ーCould you explain more about the ongoing situations at the time? >Morosawa: Around the time we were making the story, the 2001 terrorist attacks had happened recently, and one of the things from the news reports that hit me hard were the reports of the American public saying “I don’t know why they would do this to us.” Another thing was the reports of muslims within the US military. Since they were in the US military, they had to fire on Afghan civilians. This is where Kira comes from. A Coordinator living with Naturals. Divided only by a difference in category. There were a lot of reports of regular muslim citizens suddenly being ostracized, and I had seen this firsthand.
This probably makes more sense in Japan (Islam is a religion, not an ethnicity), but whatever.

00 is far more overtly about the War on Terror that SEED is.

strike freedom is 9/11. freedom being america and isis being the strike on freedom.
god the fact that seed is getting a sequel after two decades is so awesome, i love CE era so much and it's characters even despite the flaws it's unreal
You honestly think any of the main cast is going to die? Even Fukuda admitted in an interview that himself and audiences care way too much about them.
>―It’s said that all characters will make an appearance. Why was this decision made? Was there ever a radical option to use entirely new characters? >FUKUDA: It’s still a story about the characters. This isn’t a title that encompasses the world, so that’s my one and only stickler. If we’re going to use the title “Gundam SEED,” we have to focus on the drama of the main characters. I want to continue the story of the characters we’ve seen so far. That’s the goal of this sequel film.
>―This is precisely the story that the fans of the ‘SEED’ series have been hoping for. After all, they want to know what happened to Kira, Athrun, and the rest. >FUKUDA: Maybe the fans’ desires influenced the decision, but ultimately, I guess all we can do is create what we want to see most.
This immediately tells us that there's no way in hell that they will kill any main character. Even Cagalli has her gaggle of fans, so she wouldn't die either. And killing Mwu is impossible at this stage as well, since nobody would buy a "death for reals this time" after he came back in Destiny.
At most, I see them doing a Rebuild reference and destroy the Archangel with Murrue on board during some sort of heroic sacrifice (Mitsuishi voices them both). Also, SEED has already killed two main captains already, Natarle and Talia, so what's one more?
>Destiny is a nuke suit so they can’t use it.
Destiny is Hyper-Deuterion, which is a hybrid system. Apparently, it works by using the reactor to charge batteries like the Minerva's beam does on the Impulse.
In theory, you could remove the nuclear reactor and power it on already charged batteries alone; or even add more batteries, like the Perfect Strike does. There would be a performance hit, sure, but it might work.

Either the rumors about them having to downgrade to non Nuclear are true in which case Destiny even if fixed had to be shelved until whatever emergency in the movie allows them to use Nuclear suits again, or the new suits are even more advanced (which given the more advanced wienerpits we see in the trailer would seem to be true) in which case Destiny even if it could be repaired is obsolete anyway.
And even if they could fix Destiny and give it battery power to keep in running at weaker efficiency why not just build a higher tech suit that was designed to use batteries in the first place?
Athrun's left the piloting squad in favor of ground work and Freedom and Justice are the symbols of the Clyne Faction which is running Compass, so somebody needs to pilot it. Destiny was Durandal's symbol, they probably don't want to be having that running around and making people think about whether maybe he was the better option
They still all use the same engine although it's vague if they use it the same way. Some have said SF and IJ run right off the reactor with the Deutrion battery as a redundant backup while Destiny and Legend run off the battery being constantly recharged by the reactor instead, to try to justify the differences in designs
Not yet, but judging from some of the recent listing figure leaks that ended up being true since yesterday, expecting them to be unveiled in the next few days or so.
No, Seed was never good, and never will be.
I don't know. Can you repeat the question?
The trivium of man
Yes, Seed was always good, and always will be.
Maybe, Seed was always so-so, and could still be
I am willing to give it a chance, but that doesn't mean my hopes are high
>Lacus seemingly giving a shot about anti-nuclear MS Treaty

Judging from the use of PS3-era CGI in the trailer, the answer is pointing to no.
>the use of PS3-era CGI in the trailer
this scares me. if the fights are really gonna be in cgi its going to be a guaranteed flop.
>PS3-era CGI
Early PS2 era.
>vengeful Fukuda
I believe
Fukuda is finally undergoing his once-a-decade rampage
Vengeful for what, exactly?
Vengeful for the minority of people who said they didn't like Destiny
studio politics and Bandai meddling with his vision, if Cross Ange is what comes about from being a creative producer imagine what he'd do as a director now

But what if Seed Freedom is trashier?
>Schlock Ange

>and it's characters even despite the flaws it's unreal
This is a sign of mental illness. Seek help.
It won't be boring. That's something at any rate.
No, but the 50 episode sequel, SEED Justice, will be Fukuda's magnum opus and will single handedly save anime forever.
>will gundam seed freedom be good
the man who made seed entertaining to watch is now back, anon
can't say but it's probably going to be a wild ride
No and I'm gonna watch it just so I can accurately shitpost about it
Either Meyrin or Cagalli will die, screencap this post for posterity

>i-really-waited-18-years-for-athrun-and-cagalli-to-reunite
Also, frick whomever did this. "Shipping" really rots people's brains.
That makes sense. Even back in Destiny, nobody from original SEED died.
I honestly dont care, I just want to dee cool mech fights
why are you posting this jobber mobile suit?
Justice is Shinn's mobile suit now
The first thing he did is whip out his own anti ship sword and piss all over the controls to mark his territory
>and impregnate Lunamaria in the wienerpit to mark his territory
ftfy
>Justice is Shinn's mobile suit now
That would be dumb. Destiny is even more repairable than Freedom was.
Phantom Pain even managed to fully repair Chaos, a stolen ZAFT unit for which you'd imagine they didn't have a source of spare components for.
If you believe the spoilers, Compass is using non-nuclear suits in the first part of the movie. Destiny is a nuke suit so they can’t use it.
>If you believe the spoilers
I don't.
>Destiny is a nuke suit so they can’t use it.

i know it'll be moronicly fun like every gundam SNEED content.
Don't all of the four Gundams IJ, SF, Destiny and Legend use the same nuclear deuterion engine? Or did they retcon it away from that again?
Yes, they're nuclear powered but they'll use battery powered MS in the movie because of the treaty
They still all use the same engine although it's vague if they use it the same way. Some have said SF and IJ run right off the reactor with the Deutrion battery as a redundant backup while Destiny and Legend run off the battery being constantly recharged by the reactor instead, to try to justify the differences in designs
Will it copy CCA this time like how SEED and Destiny copied 0079 and Zeta? Or will it be its own original thing?
I figured SEED Destiny's final battle was already trying to be like CCA. The Strike Freedom is pretty much the CE equivalent of the Nu Gundam.
Nah but it will be fun
Hopefully the animation won't be dogshit and/or cg
anime cgi always looks horrible.

New characters
That's an antagonist group if I've ever seen one
https://twitter.com/SEED_HDRP/status/1706413268061860195
The two sisters look kinda hot ngl.
I like the ginger one but the Uso cut is putting me off a bit
Shimaidon potential fairly high but not as high as the Hawke's
their pilot suits
blondy doesn't have one yet, I assume he will have a mask like char and is a recret super-coordinator
Where the frick are the Kira clones
Seed was okay. Destiny however sucks. Hirai face also becomes quite unbearable after awhile.
gundam seed had the best mecha design in gundams history so i dont care. i want more seed shit
>gundam seed had the best mecha design in gundams history
why?
because i said so
Completely out of the loop on this, have they shown ANY mecha designs yet?
Not yet, but judging from some of the recent listing figure leaks that ended up being true since yesterday, expecting them to be unveiled in the next few days or so.
no, but it won't be boring
