I've only seen Enemy, Blade Runner 2049, and Dunc. I liked them, but his tendency to always have some bland shitty washed out color (or lack of), and do a lot of long tracking shots of desolate scenery gets fricking old.
Dunc has been the best adaptation all-around so far. SciFi Miniseries was solid adaptation but bland and some depictions atrociously so, while the Lynch/DeLaurentis had great aesthetics but was a trash adaptation. I'm saying this as someone who burned out a VHS tape of Lynch/DeLaurentis Dune as a kid.
Hans Zimmer sucks shit the aforementioned trend of Denis was a little downer, but all-around Dunc had a solid aesthetic and kept to the source well. If anything else it's been the only adaptation to do Duncan Idaho's first death properly.
seethe more book tard
Anyone who b***hes about Dunc or prefers and claims to be a "bookgay" are fricking morons.
Yeah I need to get around to watching Sicario, seen a lot of the memes and love Burn Notice
Dunc was boring garbage.
Didn't read the books btw so I have no reason to care about it being faithful, it's boring. Lynch adaptation is better.
This is legitimate about Dunc. I liked it but also read all Frank's novels and so was interesting in seeing the worldbuilding. The SciFi Miniseries is very good, especially counting the Children of Dune, but it is weak on some things (mainly the esoteric factions of the universe are weak in it); Lynch's had great aesthetics in general but really strayed from the story at times (and I didn't like how much of a crutch voice-over narration is in it, something I liked Dunc for avoiding).
He did his job exceptionally well. israelite Chalamet and mutt Zendaya were the worst parts.
Chalamet is far and away the best Paul Atreides so far. Don't know how he tackles Maud'Dib though, so far Alec Newman is far and away the best Maud'Dib.
I always found it funny how arrival was the film I was least impressed with his directing - yet it resulted in his only Best Director nomination to date.
gays. Mother longs for her child. Translates alien language for it, embraces family values and motherhood. How did it even get made in Hollywood lol ?
You homosexuals are the ones that seething about ppro feminchit waman in media yet you don't support good female characters. Just rope, c**ts.
You know, I can't even finish watching it. The pace is absolute dogshit. I read the short story, so perhaps that screwed it up for me. But, the film is just garbage. I do think he is a great director in general, though.
wrong, he said that it's probably the only time he got such a huge budget for basically an art house film. never said anything bad about the film itself, in fact he defended it many times when feminists started screeching how it portrays women in a bad way
He is really good at convincing people to think his movies are good. Which is a skill that comes in handy since he hasn't made a good movie since Sicario.
im so excited to his Rama film after dune2/Cleopatra
Did you not watch Dunc?
the only mistake he did was making it two parts, and that wasn't even in his control

The desert silly walk was the hardest i laughed in years. Duncaccino more like Dunc-a-kino

Anon, watch Incendies, Sicario, and Prisoners.
You're missing out on his best.
Yeah I need to get around to watching Sicario, seen a lot of the memes and love Burn Notice

Are you nuts? The other two actors were both superior to Chalamet, especially the 1984 Dune. He and his gorgeous mother were perfectly cast.
prisoners and sicario are kino.
Prisoners and Sicario are amazing. I hated Arrival, though the short-story was great. Dune looks pretty, but the 1984 is just hard to beat.
>those seething reddit replies to this post
Cinemaphile was never good, but it somehow got even worse
He did his job exceptionally well. israelite Chalamet and mutt Zendaya were the worst parts.
he looks like a legally blind person
HIT OR MISS
I thought this dude hanged himself in prison?
take your meds schizo
hasn't made a good film since prisoners
Arrival kind of sucked

he's never not missed since the beginning of his career
he cares too much about what others think
he was ready to abandon bladerunner just because it got some bad reviews
spineless
>he was ready to abandon bladerunner just because it got some bad reviews
>spineless
it did shit at the box office, no matter the reviews the project is dead anyway so wtf are you even on about?
you need to stand behind your creations not start second guessing once things go wrong
show me where he disavowed his creation and i'll grant your point
hes talked about it many times just look it up dude
pretty much said it was a failure and regrets making it
wrong, he said that it's probably the only time he got such a huge budget for basically an art house film. never said anything bad about the film itself, in fact he defended it many times when feminists started screeching how it portrays women in a bad way
He already has
If a director doesn't miss it means they're being boring and playing it safe.
arrival was awful
I wish he would go back to making non-scifi kino like Prisoners and Sicario. Sicario is the most tense thriller made in the last two decades.
Turned to shit after Johann Johannsson died. Coincidence? I think not.
