Probably yes, both are shit
It's woke slop.
Worse, its post modern deconstruction of superheroes from someone who never liked super heroes.
The show is of course polishing a turd.
>post modern deconstruction
No, it's not.
No, they're whole different ball games
they're shit, but in different ways, so you might not like one or the other.
That all depends on what you like about the comic.
I really liked the Boys, as in the actual team. All the mind fricking games between Butcher and Hughie were fun and I loved the frog, too. He's probably my fave of the bunch.
You're gonna call me an edgelord, but I also actually liked the gore and the sex bits. It's a novelty, for sure, and it would get tiring if I consoomed exclusively edgelord media, but for me, it stayed fun all the way.
>I really liked the Boys, as in the actual team
You definitely won't like the series
Why not?
The show is not for you then.
>You're gonna call me an edgelord, but I also actually liked the gore and the sex bits
Not the anon you replied to, but I like this sort of thing too, just not so much in this comic. Largely because the art wasn't good. Still, some of it worked.
What comics would you recommend?
The gore and sex is still in the show, but if you like The Boys, you're not gonna like the show. The show does have better takes on the superheroes though.
That kinda sucks. Guess I should've figured it out since I've seen live action homelander spammed everywhere but Iunno how the others even look like.
Sorry mate but you might like top 10 by alan moore thats also brits vs capefricks and its pretty fun or maybe powers might be more your speed but that Amazon show is shit for sure. Hell, it doesn't even measure up to the worst tick.
Yeah, you won't like the show. They completely screwed the pooch on making any of the Boys interesting or likeable, and the dynamic between Hughie and Butcher that's the centre of the comic is more or less non-existent in the show.
Literally the only thing the show does better than the comic is the supes, particularly the Seven and Homelander. That's about it, really.
Probably not.
While the comic isn't very good, it has some strengths, like some of the character writing.
The show, despite being worked on by underpaid but talented writers, can't measure up to the comic in that department.
yeh the show it pretty good, just very different, but in a good way.
It's a little heavy-handed with the gross-out shots, the acting leaves a little to be desired, and it slips in a lot of woke agenda blathering, but it's otherwise solid.
The casting is very good, but unfortunately, half of them aren't great actors.
>It's a little heavy-handed with the gross-out shots, the acting leaves a little to be desired, and it slips in a lot of woke agenda blathering, but it's otherwise solid.
Kek, so many deal breakers, but it's otherwise solid.
No. They're very different. The show wants to be edgy and attempts at being funny while the comic is so edgy it becomes funny
Maybe you like the Homelander part.
The rest is a woke shit that everyman is queer or submissive to a woman.
And you lost the time that all feminist in the internet talk how Stormfront was a Slayqueen and a exemple before the revelation.
I would say give it a shot. If it doesn't grab you after a few episodes, drop it.
depends on what you liked about it. If you liked hughie and butcher's overall relationship then no, not really. If you liked the homelander than maybe, he's still pretty good, if you liked the ridiculous grimdark bullshit then not at all.
