No chance in hell, we've been in a dark age since '05 and the only light is the few good shows that get cancelled after 1-3 seasons.
There is what said though, it's why we got a couple antenna to try and get it.
The first only gets 8 channels with a PBS kids affiliate and some channel called Comet being the only ones with anything good and the other isn't set up yet.
I am grateful for everything programmed by Mike Lazzo. While I didn't start getting Cartoon Network until my early teens, it changed my mind to what a channel could be and what marketing is. Adult Swim defined a generation but ultimately, every generation must give way to the next and AS must either adapt or die.
>globally
i don't know about other countries but mine exclusively airs ttgo, jellystone, gumball, total drama, total dramarama and animaniacs (2020 of course)
Latam right? Cartoon Network Latam is doing poorly in ratings and everything they air is heavily censored now, so they created the Adult Swim channel which is basically old Cartoon Network, they air stuff like Dragon Ball Z, Saint Seiya, One Piece, Yashahime, Courage, Dexter's Lab, IM Weasel, Cow & Chicken, etc...
and everything without any sort of censorship, you could even see the woman's naked asses and nipples on Master Roshi's dirty magazines
>Latam right
yes >so they created the Adult Swim channel which is basically old Cartoon Network
I'm aware of that channel but you have to pay extra for it and that just seems illogical to me when regular cartoon network is dying, why not just air all that alongside the dozens of reruns of the new shows?
This seems like false advertising to me. They're putting Dragon Ball Z Kai in this but not the original Dragon Ball Z. No Robotech, no Gundam Wing, no Outlaw Star, no Big O. Kinda pointless
It airs at 5pm, I don't think you can air Outlaw Star or Tenchi Muyo at 5pm without heavily editing them like they did back in 2001 and according to the Demarco gay they don't have enough money to make those kind of edits anymore nor do they have money to make new bumpers in the style of old Toonami, he straight up said they'll reuse animations from the current Toonami bumpers for this new block using the current TOM

No Big O is kinda weird since they actually own the rights for the second season, but I guess they want long runners only so they can air this for longer than Checkered Past which already aired all the episodes of those cartoons to the point they keep spamming the same
Are they finally getting rid of the checkered past shit what a fricking waste of time lol they literally didn't even try like what was up with that shit refusing to air anything but courage, ed, edd, and eddy, billy and mandy, and dexter?

They should have just turned it into a Boomerang block and started airing older shit from their catalog.
Merge Cartoon Network with TNT/TCM like they did in Asian countries in the 90s, cartoons at day and classic movies and maybe a wrestling show from AEW at night.
You may have described my perfect channel. >Now: Popeye shorts >Later: Murder By Contract >Tonight: AEW Dynamite
When WBD loses AEW, MeTV should really consider picking them up. Anything to get us closer to Danhausen X Svengoolie (even though Nostalgiaferatoo leaves very little want for a Svengoolie sidekick.)
If TTGG doesn't show up, I'll have to make the thread in his stead. We've recently learned that the guy who usually makes replacement threads is actually a constant ban evader.
Companies don't care to spend the money or effort on this type of thing any more. hey only want to do the barest of minimums at the absolute cheapest they can make it. None of them are going to make a fun bumper for the sake of making a fun bumper, that makes no executive rich. That makes no advertiser happy, it actually takes up ad space that could be enriching the studio!
It sucks but we are full apathy from studios now, they are not going to try to get or keep your attention any longer.
I look at the cartoons from the 90s and they felt creative that even adults are suppose to enjoy them. Like both CN and Nick weren't just making these shows to sell action figures, not that there wasn't any merchandise. 2000s era most of the cartoons look like they were designed to sell toys, I blame Ben 10 and it's why Symbionic Titan was canned. Now since 2010, all cartoons look like preschool shows with these safe balloony designs so it won't upset twitter b***hes. Cartoons are never going to be good ever again.
It's literally over. Adult Swim has more air time than Cartoon Network. They're being taken over and consumed by their side project. With Checkered past being an Adult Swim thing, Adult Swim now has 13 hours of air time a day VS. Cartoon Networks 11 hours. Its worlds better than watching infinite Spongebob reruns on Nickelodeon tho.
No. None of the cartoon channels are going to be good again because they're stuck in a death spiral; they're not willing to invest into new series.
Cartoon Network just becoming full time Adult Swim is probably the best thing that can happen. It's incredibly hard to compete with the infinite low quality content churn mill on youtube, and there's been a huge gap in the market for animation targeting teens and up (that's not just comedy).
No. The late 90's - mid 2010's were the the rise and fall of cartoons not sucking ass, and even then there were quite a few misfires (you now remember Time Squad). Now it's the inverse - mostly trash, but a few gems. I hear Owl House was good, but I have no idea if the praise it gets is genuine given that I've only seen twitter and Cinemaphile coomers talk about how much they want to frick the latina teen and the hag. Anyway, the main issue with CN in particular is that the cartoonists that'd regularly butt heads with the execs got booted after the pres got cycled out (see: Maxwell Atoms), which led to the chaotic void era that somehow churned out a few good cartoons which got mismanaged to fricking hell. How to fix: First, you need the old guard back. Second, don't frick with them unless it would be really funny. Third, for god's sake get the old guard to teach the newer generation of industry artists how to fricking draw, and I don't just mean "draw objectively good things" I mean teaching them the shit their art schools should have taught them in the first place. Composition, adaptability, etc.
>"Before CN made the content shift away from the success of Ben 10 to live stuff, they were intentionally building an 'action universe', which means that, along with Ben 10, Generator Rex and Sym-Bionic Titan were always intended to be part of the same world.
>Those crossovers make perfect sense. And in my mind, [The Secret Saturdays] is following directly in the footsteps of the classic Hanna-Barbera action shows like Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, Herculoids, Mighty Mightor, and the like, so those wouldn't feel out of place as some strange meet-ups."
Yes
But it's just under the branding MeTV
What is MeTV?
Boomerang but bigger tldr
not boomerang.
1992 cartoon network. times 100. on steroids. available everywhere. for free.

most of these suck though
> beetlejuice
>xiao Lin showdown
>(classic hopefully) Tom and Jerry
Definitely got my watch. I mean versus cn the worst of these are just boring. I
>Taz
Does this mean Tazmania or classic shorts starring him?
I fricking love that guy so much
Even with the shit that sucks (which some might add or remove from here based on preference) this is still a very solid lineup
yes, when it becomes boomerang 2.0 and starts airing their own old shows and all of the new ones go to streaming
It was a once in a lifetime experience.

It has Sailor Moon again at 5pm now, you decide if that's good or bad
I meant as a whole and globally.

i don't know about other countries but mine exclusively airs ttgo, jellystone, gumball, total drama, total dramarama and animaniacs (2020 of course)

I assume this Toonami Rewind will just be one day a week.
Only on Fridays.
They should have just turned it into a Boomerang block and started airing older shit from their catalog.
No

Nope, let it die, we are getting MeTV Toons now.
maybe, they just gotta remember “Cartoon Network” as an umbrella name and not a block
If TTGG doesn't show up, I'll have to make the thread in his stead. We've recently learned that the guy who usually makes replacement threads is actually a constant ban evader.
Just do it now. TTGG is an idiot and constantly bails without warning. We have Toonami Rewind to discuss.
No. I'm waiting until 8PM.
He bakes at 7:40. He ain't coming.
lol ban evader just made a thread and it got promptly deleted. Keep that in mind, he may try to frick with us again tonight.
Fricking thread wars.
So, a bit more on-topic: Have there been any good cartoons in the last 4 years?
we can never go back,

you know, i think just this once it wouldn't hurt to have no toonami threads tonight. it's just another NK marathon
I want to ask people if they can avoid making ritualposts tonight.
No
It's been dead since 2008, it's time to let it go.
You mean 2004. 2005 at the latest.
Okay it's up.
They took everything from us and we didn't even know back then.
Here is a list of series by year of release.
After 2014 the only good show on that list is OK KO.
Good God, every show starting with 2017, other than Ben 10, looks the same. CalArts really is a plague.
It's been slightly better lately then it was the past few years. 2005-15 is probably cn nick and Disney's best years especially 2010-14
Nah, it's done.
It was nice when it was around but that was a long time ago....
Cable as a whole is dying, so no
>outdated logo

I feel I have to add on that you begin to see more and more misfires from the mid-2000's onwards.
