They really should have hired Tiny Tinas VA she is like 5'1 and already has the same attitude as her
Just because this girl was like 4'9 shouldn't have made a difference since Kevin Hart is nothing like his game counterpart so who the frick cares if Tiny Tina is 4 inches taller than the current one
VA work IS acting and honestly Tiny Tinas personality doesn't need good acting since she exaggerates everything in an unrealistically annoying way but in the end its likely an issue of age since she is much older than the girl who was cast
>let's make a movie out of the game known for having the most obnoxious writing
It's fricked. It would be like making everything else Hollywood is making.
>what if mcu but no powers, only in the desert, and only quips
there is no point engaging with someone who thinks they can just put a VA in front of a camera and have them look as natural as a normal actor. i don't know why people bother to go to acting school or anything like that :%)

Of course the real solution would be just to make an animated movie. Just upgrade the models and rendering of the first game to movie quality. Expand the gameplay as "cutscenes". Cleaely would be easier than making this live action fiasco.
Of course, sadly, no one in Hollywood thinks animation sells even though games are all CG and sell better than films.
1. You don't need acting school to be a good actor those schools are more for connections just like art school and even bringing that up kind of just hurts your argument. She has had onscreen roles before as well with a live action movie being her most recent role this year
2. Nothing about Tiny Tinas character is natural and her experience being her is more than enough to make it work.
Acting is hard because you have to make it subtle but believable. You don't need to worry about that with TT

I'm not at all familiar with the games and I saw the trailer attached to Planet of the Apes. It just seems so generic. It felt like it was trying to emulate Guardians of the Galaxy or some other James Gunn thing. Furiosa's trailer played beforehand and felt far more interesting, despite being tied to the 9 year old Mad Max reboot.
>Lilith and Tannis aged by 30 years >Moxxy aged by 20 years >Roland played by Kevin Hart (and also aged like 10+ years)
What we’re they thinking
That’s not rhetorical like actually what was the idea behind these casting choices
Lilith and Roland both die before they reach these ages in the game so it’s not like this is set in the game’s continuity but in the future
Some intern probably jotted down some casting notes on a pitch 12 years ago when borderlands was actually relevant. Now with vidya adaptations looking to be the next “big thing” some studio guy probably pulled those notes out of a drawer and was like “this is fine, get these people”
>Lilith and Roland both die before they reach these ages in the game so it’s not like this is set in the game’s continuity but in the future
yeah also nevermind the characters who actually survive/live arent around at all.
Yes because it's scifi, looks cheap, no one really cares about Borderlands and the hyper zany tone is way out of date. It has everything going against it basically.
>Who thought people would give a shit about the Borderlands characters? I like the games but only for their mindless loot grind and gameplay.
the best borderlands characters are the vendors and the villains. Marcus. Scooter. Tk Baha. General Knoxx. Handsome Jack. etc. the way the game's other playable characters became NPCs that followed you around like some 'team' in the 2nd/3rd games is cringe and annoying.
it already tanked by coming out 10 years too late. and fallout tv show already took its place. also half the cast are geriatric old women. and they cast kevin hart but not the rock? is that even allowed in their contracts?
kevin hart = roland
the rock = brick
phil dunphy = handsome jack(they dont even have a handsome jack in a borderlands movie??)
also all women should be under 30 with tiny tina played by an actual petite young girl and not a 80 year old woman.
i hate these fricking games
Shit games have been turned into good content before. Look at Arcane. The Ark anime wasn’t terrible either.
arcane had almost nothing to do with the game though
literally every choice they made as far as casting seems utterly bewildering
I like Cate Blanchett but who the frick thought she was a good choice for Lilith
Benjamin Byron Davis as Marcus is probably the only casting choice that works.
I don't know. I never cared for these games.
They were really aiming for the hag lover audience, huh? Probably the most miscast movie I've seen in a long time.
Even the poster looks unbearably annoying
Is that fricking Bobby Lee?
>from the producers of Uncharted, Spider-Man, and Venom
when they cite producers , and not writwrs or even director, you are in trouble
Maybe they'll find some marketing gimmick angle that will turn on gullible normies, like fallout. Who knows.
It will be bad either way
>HAVE YOU TRIED THE "GO TO BOARDERLANDS" CHALLENGE YET, KIDS?...
its trending...

And don't forget the old b***h playing an early 20s chick.
Maybe the VA can't act? You do realize this is a movie, right?

especially considering it will end up being 90% animated anyway

Tiny Tina is the best casting in their line up. Everyone else is to old.
Jack Black as Claptrap.
Ok. He's a good choice.
Didn’t Burch swear off of making violent media or something?

>every woman in the movie is 60-70 years old
So, who's the hot chick they will cast for the role of Ellie?
It's probably okay.
All around the sta-actus plant
The stalker chased the bandit
Stalker thought 't was all in fun
POP goes the bandit

That poster screams, "We want the Birds Of Prey audience!"
You mean the movie no one was asking for ?
normies are over these type of movies
is that fricking bobby lee in the bottom left

100% flop incoming
i hope so, gearbox killed borderlands and is now raping its corpse

It's going to die a worse death than Borderlands 3.
Damn, it wasn't even that long ago that Blanchett could have pulled it off but I suppose the Wall waits for no woman
You win some you lose some.
it's just such an inexplicable decision
even zendaya and timothy chalamae in drag would have been better casting.
Is this an AI picture or is this really happening?
Who thought people would give a shit about the Borderlands characters? I like the games but only for their mindless loot grind and gameplay.

Yes. Aside from shit casting game's audience has grown up and is not interested in Boredomlands anymore.
That was the case even in the games by Borderlands 3 with its “how do you do fellow kids” streamer storyline
When I saw the trailer before a film at the kinoplex a few weeks ago I legitimately thought it was a fake trailer for a joke.
it already tanked by coming out 10 years too late. and fallout tv show already took its place. also half the cast are geriatric old women. and they cast kevin hart but not the rock? is that even allowed in their contracts?

The question is how badly will it bomb?
If they’d made it 5 to 10 years ago maybe not
But now
Woof
Gonna fail harder than Anthony burches marriage
