Nepotism dictates no, most people who get to join the industry and especially get in high places either know people or have support somewhere, Dana didn't get a show because her idea was fricking A but rather because she seemed competent enough, had a relationship with Hirsch and herself had some online following; Rebbeca Sugar is another example of that nepotism at action, with experienced showrunners dying, retiring or just getting out of touch (namely McCracken) companies are forced to leave their box and go after new talent, but what if that one guy who made a really good show can point you to someone who he deems to be competent, after all he worked with that someone for years and his show was really beloved and lucrative wasn't it?

It also helps Hirsch and many others are from Los Angeles, so a career in entertainment isn't looked down upon.

Can you explain why Craig McCracken is out of touch? I haven’t been keeping up with him lately.

No. It's just a Harry Potter, Gravity Falls and Little Witch Academy ripoff with lesbians. There is nothing to take inspiration from.

      Anonymous

Yeah. It's actually really weird because Owl House genuinely takes inspiration from a lot of things for the art direction and designs but the world building is mostly "real world, but quirky".

Belos takes inspiration from a LOT of different mythological and folkloric figures, but his design is just...there. Owl House echoes and brings to mind a lot of stuff but never really dips its toes any deeper with what it's taking inspiration from. Kinda odd considering how much of a weeb and lore geek Dana is.

TOH is uninspiring, didn't get that much revenue to the company, only got to be relevant because of Twitter and has people swearing that it's good, so basically Morbius.

      Anonymous

No. Morbius was an ironic meme. The people that watch Owl House swear it's good.

Disney will make sure something like Owl House will never happen again.
It's OK for background and one-shot characters to be gay. That's good representation.
Main characters and main support characters? Gay? With each other? No fricking way!
There is a reason why straight from the beginning the creators of the Ghost and Molly McGee said that all three main girls were cis straight. Disney won't take any chances now!

I mean this new generation can try, but they are gonna hit the brickiest walls, the glassiest ceilings. You will never witness another canon /ll/ within your lifetime!
