She's been in every mainline Mario game since she first appeared, yes even Odyssey as a small cameo on the secret level (it's well known her cameo was originally going to be a lot bigger but that was unfortunately cut). Helps to be Koizumi's personal waifu I guess. She's far more popular than Daisy, hell she's even replaced her in the Mario soccer game. I'm not concerned about Rosalina's popularity being an issue. With the Luma and talking of galaxies in the first one, she's definitely going to show up. Just a question of how/when.
But Daisy is the one playable in the new game and Rosalina doesn't get a band in the theme park. Isn't that just quacky?

Alright I'll grant you I forgot about the new game, Daisy is at 3 total then. Rosalina is in Galaxy 1, 2, 3D World, Odyssey, and she's also in Run.
Actually I take that back, Rosalina isn't in Run, confused it with mario kart mobile. So then it's 3 and 4, Rosalina is still in more games.

With Daisy being playable in Wonder and Rosalina being playable in Mario 3D World, doesn't that mean they are equal in count for being playable in a MAINLINE game?
They're both playable in most of the sports games, but Daisy has probably shown up in more games just because she's an older character and has the advantage of being around for the N64 and Gamecube era. I don't know all the Party, Kart, and Sport game rosters off the top of my head, so I'm just gonna assume she's been showing up in those games since N64.
Rosalina as a NON-PLAYABLE character, however, is WAYYY more prominent. She is a major character in two mainline games and the new Rabbids game. Judging by the whole Luma appearing and Peach going, "THERE'S A LOT OF GALAXIES OUT THERE", it's almost a guarantee she is going to be a prominent character in the sequel. She has much more presence in the Mario franchise as a whole even if Daisy has more playable roles in sports games.

Rosalina is a questgiver. She starts and supports the plot. Unfortunately Daisy doesn't add as much, so of the two she's the one who would most likely be excluded.

Sucked into a tube and into a land much more hostile than the Mushroom Kingdom. Instead of being made a princess like Peach, she's still kind of feral, but still more than capable of surviving. Mario and company meet her, Peach takes her under her wing and teaches her princessy things, something something something, then Daisy conquers what becomes known as Sarasaland. With kindness though, just like Peach taught her.
She'll be the the stereotypical princess and as the movie goes on it's revealed she's Daisys cousin, Peach dislikes her the brothers try to convince her to given her a chance because she's family.
Reminder that Mario Wonder is the beginning of a new status quo.
