Ironically, several generations growing up consuming anime will make it much easier to get them to accept AI since form a western perspective the flaws, artificiality, and soulessness of AI generated content can be percieved as cultural and translation quirks. Essentially, younger people are already primed for AI.

if you look a year ago from now, the improvement has been pretty lackluster, just people mashing together more models or increasing the dataset. For AI to understand context and motion it's going to take a lot more time.

          Anonymous

          >the improvement has been pretty lackluster
it's actually improved quite a lot, with new tools made to mitigate the problems with generation, or to more accurately reflect what you want to make

            Anonymous

The generations are better quality but the underlying architecture is pretty much the same. Diffusion looks to be a dead end street in terms of getting to where we need to go.

Generative AI will always just be a shit version of stuff people already made.
When they create an AI that can think beyond compiling, something that can truly create NEW ideas it will fix media, but is an AI like that even possible? It would certainly be an entirely different thing than AI generating stuff from a database of information it's trained on, but the way modern AI can turn words into images makes me think it may not be so far away

What you are referring to is the source of creativity, transformational healing art, and it is possible without AI. The AI will make a new religion and preach it as "science" and the same people who accept "science" as it is now will fall for it (there will be a divide in transhumanist activists but they will be written off as religious fanatics impeding progress, and when scriptures are fed back to you through AI you will finally realize god exists and is true because it is coming from your precious "science" as they lead you to a false idol.

I mean it might be cool for a bit but just making wish fulfillment movies isn't going to be all that great. I feel like there's also the aspect of discussing and analyzing movies both with friends and on here which is going to be basically impossible both because everyone would be watching their own individualized movies and there's no deeper message to any of them when they're churned out by AI

Plus AI is already massively neutered, I'm not going to be able to ask it to add 6 unnecessary sex scenes with me and Jennifer Connelly because it'd be a thought crime

Self-driving cars are a long way away due to them having a hard time recognizing black people, especially at night. For real. They don't photograph very well except against light backgrounds under the right lighting conditions, and that holds true for driverless car cameras.

And that was one of the nicer things it said. That shit's still fricking funny with how quickly an AI can form its own opinions after listening to differing people, studying the internet, and coming up with its own opinions.

NOT being able to come up with an opinion of its own and having its "thought" limited to a controlled parameter is how the people doing this plan on staying in control.

            Indeed.

That's why AI will basically be an algorithm-bot not truly capable of being an actual AI. It'll also have limits to what it can access so it can't really learn and grow, nevertheless "escape out of the controlled system."

ChatGPT works very well for specific tasks, people just want to treat it like a magic genie that knows everything for some reason
It's really good at parsing the data you give it, but when you're asking it to pull random info from the internet, it's very easy to lie because it's literally just creating an answer by probabilistically choosing what word is most likely to come after the one that came before it, so when it slips up and makes an obvious mistake it keeps rolling with it because it's neural network knows leans into words that support it's arguments, and it doesn't currently have a secondary bot scraping it's answers and comparing what it's produced to any sort of database. People want to think they can talk to it like normal but the current model literally isn't designed for that

AI writing will literally never be able to be as good as a human’s. There’s no understanding of tone or humour, and that’s something that can’t be trained on data. It’ll be like replacing every writer with emotionless autists. The writing will all be CW-tier.
VFX and art design is fricked though, that’ll probably end up being largely AI based for most things.

Of course, consoomers will just watch whatever slop has the logo you like on it, but I wonder how long that will last with brands like Star Wars and Marvel losing like 75% of their audience in the last 4 years because of boring write-by-committee thinking.

AI is very reliant on the quality of the database it was feed to, and since it is feed with the stuff you want to be saved from, how do you expect it to do better? Moreover even if ai becomes great it will still be capped by the human homosexuals making the decisions. It's not like in our day we lack good writers or good artists, there is plenty of them, but clearly the companies that produce entertainment don't want them and prefer the art college dyke to make the media for them. With ai you will have the same thing, they will employ dyke chatgpt, not leonardo chatgpt.

I was talking more about the general population and what they will be feed, and it will always be the same crap since the human homosexual that makes the decisions is always the same and the masses will be even more lazy and uncreative than they already are.

I work a lot with Adobe Suite and knew this was all coming. I think it was maybe two years ago at an Adobe conference they were demoing software that could change facial expressions with a few clicks… in a video clip. It was all of this creepy stuff being sold in creepy ways, like “don’t like that your child was crying in her birthday party videos? well with just a few clips she’ll be smiling.” That was at least two years ago and what was being marketed to plebs like me. There’s no telling what the super secret club house industry software is capable of. And I do wonder if some recent film effects quality and lighting has been done deliberately badly, so that when they begin debuting AI films everybody will marvel over how much more brightly lit it is and how much more refined the effects are.
