I'm watching modern Spongebob right now, and one thing sticks out every episode. There is a complete misunderstanding of the source matieral. Spongebob is struggling to make a good milkshake while some weird musclebound ice cream sergeant (who clearly was created for this episode only) berates Spongebob in front of some other trainees at some creamer academy.
Spongebob never displays incompetence at any aspect of culinary arts. It's fundamental to his character and even most conflicts with Squidward are centered on this (likely why Squiward is absent here) It's also the entire conflict of Pickles. The notion of him forgetting the pickles is unthinkable and even the audience knows it's false before he finds out they were being hidden by Bubblebass.
It breaks so many established rules, just with the premise. Almost like the writers were never told them.
He also had no issues throwing away a rotten krabby patty he found under a grill in Born Again Krabs or incinerating another in Just One Bite. One modern episode however, he pulls one out of the trash and continues to eat it even though it keeps making him feel sick because he refuses to believe a patty could ever taste bad.

That barely qualifies as modern SP as the episode is almost ten years old.
I'm trying to make a show based on Squiddle and Doodlebob, but animation is tricky and takes a long time. https://youtu.be/Xz3kNHJeG3M?si=D1gD0-QIp3SC7mts
The biggest stretch anyone has ever said ever. Are you really going to take stiff repetitive meandering burnout garbage over something that's just overly experimental? The people working on SpongeBob nowadays clearly enjoy what they're doing and there's passion behind it. I'm not a huge fan but it's way better than whatever what was being squeezed out of the anuses of stressed out men in their mid 40s who had to hit gigantic episode orders in the mid-late 2000s.
This guy is so fancy he has a swimming pool in his swimming pool!
>this guy has shoes!
>we can make money selling pornos for p. diddy bruh
Lightning in a bottle
maybe they can catch it again
Never. Especially not with the direction the modern seasons are going in.
Want that the reason Nickelodeon died?
None of the Nicktoons afterwards could capture that same charm?
>same charm
more like same $$$
Spongebob has been dogshit for almost 20 years now and it still prints money
TLA came after is the greatest show ever made, cartoon or not
Frick man. This epsiode had me doubled over from start to finish. Honestly funnier than Band Geeks
I think like Band Geeks it works because it involved the entire main cast and they were given their A+ material.

what? this is outrageous. spongebob has always been talented in anything that requires fine motor skills

where do we draw the line on classic vs modern? I'd say pre-Movie and post-Movie but I may be wrong
I categorize them based on the gap between movies, personally.
Pre-Movie era:
Season 1-3
Post-Movie era:
Season 4-9A
Post-Second Movie era:
Season 9B-12
Current era:
Everything after the 3rd movie onwards
