I think so. Sonic is like TMNT, it has a history that some creators hate but is so classic that it always comes back eventually. Like Rocksteady and Bebop.
SEGA would have to ask Wildbrain since they own the rights to those characters.
Isn't that only with Archie? All of the cartoon characters have belonged to Sega since even way back then.
Orbot and Cubot took their roles and make them useless. They are not needed, so moot point.
They are literally not Sonic characters at all, but just useless fodder never meant for games, unlike Orbot and Cubot.
How does that work since they were all based on sega badnik characters?
That is 100% untrue.
ITT: diapergays conglomerate yet again and show off their diapers
Why haven't you killed yourself yet? You mentally deficient moron.
Orbot and Cubot fricking suck, I am glad the games have ditched them.

I hope so, Orbot and Cubot are just barely better than those two Sonic X robots, and they’re still not funny

I miss my boy
Didn't they show up somewhere, in the IDW comic or in one of the animated series? More as minor characters than the main henchmen. I seem to recall seeing Grounder somewhere more recently.
Orbot and Cubot are just better known now. Most people didn't even watch AoStH. They didn't know it existed, and most that did b***hed that it wasn't as "adult" as the SatAM running at the same time. So it's not too surprising that nobody remembers it outside the occasional Youtube Poop video.
>Orbot and Cubot are just better known now.
I straight up have no idea who these two are. But that's probably because my interest in Sonic only goes up until about 1998 or so.
a character poll for Sega Heroes included then along with all Mean Bean Machine characters including Robotnik, the poll definition had mandates attached since it separated modern and classic characters
Who actually owns the rights to them?
Sega. They're firmly in the hands of Sega. In fact, most Archie Sonic characters are in their hands. Sega legal is just stubborn af.
I don't think so. Sega is a special brand of stubborn. Unless somebody buys out Sega and completely cleans house, I doubt you're getting any of the lore from the various cartoons or comics ever again.
On the subject of Orbot and Cubot; why the FRICK did they change Orbot's character so drastically between Unleashed and Colors? Without being a snarky little shit towards Eggman throwing biting sarcasm at him constantly, what is the point of him? He's kind of just this semi-polite dude now so even when Eggman kicks him around it's not even really funny or anything. At least Cubot is a bumbling dimwit, so the chemistry between him and Eggman makes more sense.
Isn't it weird how Japan decided to switch out all the toony characters they couldn't make look like anime into these guys and a little black goblin? They fill the same roles ostensibly, and then they got replaced by orbot and cubot later.
I wonder how they would have looked in sonic X.
I can't speak for Decoe and Bocoe, but Bokkun is one of those side characters that I kind of wish could've migrated to the games series in some fashion.
Sally is canon
