Nah. They won't stop pushing Harley because most of the pushing has actually been successful enough. This game isn't bad because of Harley Quinn's presence. It's bad because the gameplay is boring, uninspired live service looter shooter garbage that we've seen a thousand times before. The attempts at humor are awful and fail to land. The entire time you're playing, your chosen character is spouting dogshit quips and jokes. The narrative takes a big smelly dump on the past successes of the and their response to fans has amounted to them saying they don't give a shit.
Kevin Conroy dying mid-production and them still following through on the humiliating execution of Batman was just the poorly timed icing on the proverbial shit cake that helped push it over the edge.
Gaga doesn't need to knock it out of the park. She only needs to be passable. Joaquin Phoenix will be doing what he does best in a film. The fricking heavy lifting. The man is skilled enough to elevate a mediocre co-star.

No, becase first the whole game is shit in both characters and gameplay according to people that have played, so it's not like people is blaming Harley for the dumpster fire.
Second this is suppose to be Arkham Harley, so it's actually in character she's an awful monster willing to kill the innocent, i think the devs didn't account for the public perception of the suicide squad as misfits with good morals, meanwhile the ones in the game are straight up pissing on corpses, so people just can connect with them
