It's fun to think how Crowley was working for the British intelligence service at the same time as Evola was working for the SS.

There's a premise for a supernatural WW2 thriller in there somewhere.

That's what I'm saying. He basically groomed them into doing what he did, and Hubbard's venture became moronicly successful.

Also, just a friendly reminder that almost all of the black magic practices that are used by hollywood, and media and political elite in general, is derived from the Golden Dawn

He never made contact with Hubbard.
Hubbard was just hell bent on making a religion of his own and joined a bunch of different cults for research.
His time in the OTO is only significant because the stole Jack Parson's wife.

          Anonymous

Crowley did not groom Hubbard. Hubbard was involved with John Parsons, one of Crowley's followers in California. Crowley thought Hubbard was a grifter who was conning Parsons out of his money and expressed as much to Parsons, though his warnings were ignored.

Well the near entire disclosure of golden dawn and other hermetic lodge and feemasonic practices for one. But he also authored numerous well-written books regarding yoga, philosophy, self-improvement, semiotics, and Eastern and Western esotericism.

What could some old geezer do intelligence-wise for Britain that a younger, less erratic, non-megalomaniac could do? Go undercover among the axis? He already had some notoriety among them. Got banned from Italy by Mussolini in the 20's. I think Hitler even read the Book of the Law and he said it was gay.

Alister Crowley and Satanists in general are LARPing homosexuals mad at their parents because their parents made them go to church. Satanism isn’t edgy or shocking anymore, it’s trite and unoriginal at this point.

Most people who are into the works of Aleister Crowley is in any way trying to make some shocking fashion statement.
They like him because he was an incredibly accomplished scholar in his field, and made much of what was previously hidden information, available to the lay person.

Sure, the people in power use power for their advantage. That doesn't mean that various occult lodges don't exist or practice various occult acts.
And Crowley is widely regarded as the most well-known and renowned occultist of the 20th century.

    >Crowley arrived at the Golden Dawn temple in London. Making the sign of the pentacle inverted and shouting menaces at the adepts, Crowley climbed the stairs. But Yeats and two other white magicians came resolutely forward to meet him, ready to protect the holy place at any cost. When Crowley came within range the forces of good struck out with their feet and kicked him downstairs.
