Even traditionally good cartoons get ignored on Cinemaphile and people make up reasons not to watch it and instead fling shit on the internet all day, it's pretty sad
That trailer is in German, but it's based on Swedish children's books.
I guess Cinemaphile doesn't care about 2D animation anymore
It looks nice but I'm not sure if it's gonna be something I'll be interested in. The Mamma Mu books that I've stumbled on were for toddlers.
I like their art, though. The backgrounds are so comfy.
I am surprised there is still any sort of German 2D animation to begin with, but I hope someone will do something different again. Felidae was great and the first Werner movies were genuinely funny if you could relate to this. It's a bit sad that it's just toddler content right now. Maybe it will change again at some point. I cannot think of any toddler cartoon that was popular in Europe the last 30 or so years. Even the kid shows that were hits were aimed at older kids like Animals of Farthing Wood and the likes.
I feel like fandoms aren't a thing here either. Some younger people (= younger than 40 here) might maybe like a series but it's just that and they might not even mention it. They don't draw or fanboy/fangirl about it, buy merch or discuss it. I mean a few surely do, but it's barely existent and the creation of comics doesn't happen in a vacuum. It's the result of passionate comic fans that want their own comic, fandoms and other fans that would be ready to read it.

Germany seems like a huge weeb country, I can name more "Germangas" than German comics
Also a huge amount of furries, as I've heard I don't live in Germany, I just consume a lot of German media
I didn't know about this. I was a big fan of the Mamma Mu books when I was a little kid, and Sven Nordqvist's art is still legendary. The animation in the movie looks okay, but like that other anon said, I'm not sure the film will have anything to recommend it.
>We’re sick and goddamn tired of the CG shit, where’s the 2D hand-drawn? I miss it bring it back! >This comes out >*crickets*
I hope animation gays get CG and AI animation for eternity.
My problem is that the cows aren't really appealing MCs and the udders make it even weirder. Besides that it seems to be something targeting a very young audience. Like not even teens but kindergarten kids. Doesn't mean it's bad but I doubt it's something you would be able to enjoy if you are older than 10.
So I take it the broadstroked premise is that she’s gotta pretend to be a brainless dairy cattle when shes not having her child appropriate daydreams/adventures. The character looks quite well defined.

only if it panders to progressives.

Give it a couple years, when it's making the rounds of the streaming services.

Yeah it's sad Germany is only animating stuff for toddlers now, but it's still better than nothing and looks really soulful

Also it's weird how Germany has no comic industry at all why France has such a big one

Have you tried watching German independent animations?
No, because I don't know where to look
Ja
Okay but does the cow brap?

>Cow protag
>with udders
Yeah
O used to play a boardgame based on Mamma Mu when I was a kid. It was awesome.
