Owen's ending is the only acceptable one. Not only is it in character, but Gwen's is such indomitable horseshit by comparison.

honestly in retrospect Owen making it all the way to the finals(and being the canon winner of TDI) was kind of dumb even if it was the more entertaining ending compared to Gwen winning
though if we did rearrange the events of the post merge episodes so that we had a different final 2 for Island who those two should be is definitely up in the air(though I definitely feel Heather should never be one of them)
yeah they probably should have just gone and said outright that Owen winning was canon for the special instead of doing versions for both, probably why for the post Action seasons they setup things so that it's easier for them to be vague about who won the season and/or how they lost the money they should have won
