With no limitations on short or long rests, or even the encouragement to do so, there is literally no point in playing a Martial class.

this is NOT telivision and/or film!!! ARRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
>Larianshills so desperate for more payment that they try to pull the "oops wrong board"
Frick off
Martials are better.
>no limitations
It literally costs supplies to rest so it's not unlimited.
They really are, because spell slots are expended on cast but you can attack forever.
>literally costs supplies to rest
You are never gonna run out even if you rest after every single encounter. It ruins the flow ans realism of the game to be teleporting back and forth to a camp instance constantly
>You are never gonna run out even if you rest after every single encounter
That's only true if you autism search every single container until you have like 1k supplies. People that don't do that can actually run out if they spam rest. That means spellcasting is less appealing if you're a normie.
>But are supplies limited?
Yes, they are. It costs 40 supplies to long rest and you'll feel the pinch unless you loot everything.
>not looting everything
Black person do you even play video games
I'm not a Black person and if you're going to be rude then you can talk about your video game without me. This isn't even the right board and I don't even visit your gay board.
Correct. There's a girl in the underdark that can die if you rest too much during the quest. I'm leaving now.
Or a certain building will be burned down if you rest too many times.
Or a certain npc will die in Act 2.
There's a whole bunch of those.
Great supporting points. To bad the fricker ran away with his tail between his legs so he'll never see them.
The truth of the matter is, there are only two ways to properly limit rest spamming in RPGs, both implemented by Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and both causing immense butthurt amongst actuals, and supposed, fans of the genre:
>limiting supplies by making them heavy as frick,
>implementing time limitations on both the main storyline, as well as many of the quests,
Those two steps basically solved the problem of rest spamming, but then the screeching minmaxing morons came out of the woodwork, and they removed one of them completely in the next game.
>Yes, they are. It costs 40 supplies to long rest and you'll feel the pinch unless you loot everything.
is 40 a lot though? It's not gonna matter if I have 800 supplies or if every fricking barrel has a shit ton of supplies.
My concern is that the supply economy isn't balanced. Your response doesn't shed any light on the rarity/commonality of supplies
He can't respond to this properly because if players ever ran out of supplies they'd get stuck and quit the game because they are casuals and not RPG fans. The economy is not balanced, but it's imablanced to his benefit just the way he likes it
>It literally costs supplies to rest so it's not unlimited.
But are supplies limited? I'm gonna guess that this game doesn't have a balanced economy, so camping supplies are probably scarce for the first few hours but then after some exploration and quest rewards you'll effectively have unlimited
The fact you even have to "rest" between each encounter is the stupidest game design I've ever seen.
>you have limits on spells bro!
>oh nvm its irrelevant
>tough fight there bro!
>oh nvm designed around you restoring health anyway
Antiquated like most this game
>Getting all your resources back after every fight is dated
It's modern as frick to heal everyone to full after every fight
this is why i have not been on Cinemaphile in weeks.
i have 56 hours in this masterpiece of an RPG. its been a real pleasure not being subjected to your voices till now.
>Masterpiece of an RPG
>97 metacritic
For people that hate rpgs maybe
>modern
>out dated tabletop rpg design that ***does not translate well to a vidya format****
And this is why the best rpgs actually tailor themselves to the medium of video games
I'm torn between rest. Adds to the experience in some games if you an be attacked or have random encounters.
I see the benefits of rest as the camp allows the opportunity to speak to party members as well as whatever is in camp. Also to be able to switch party members but that could be done without needing the rest option to heal and recover spells.
I wouldn't say it was incredibly popular for crpgs until Original Sins 2.
is there a point to playing D&D
how the frick did a turn-based game got so incredibly popular anyway
sex
pure marketing: shills, bots and paid influencers
in traditional dnd, setting up camp always had a risk of your party being ambushed, so you had martials stand guard while the puny dress wearing weaklings slept through the night. In BG3 there's no chance of being ambushed while resting, and the fact that you teleport to your campsite to drop shit off makes bags completely irrelevant. Poor choice of game mechanics considering a core part of dnd was knowing you can't hoard everything unless you got the back of holding, a very rare item.
Its 5e but 5e is still better than DOS2's armor garbage
>Cinemaphile thread up for an hour
Are the jannies part of the F.ilm A.ctor's G.uild strike too?
There is limitation, though. You can frick up a bunch of quests/storylines if you long rest too many times during them.
Sure there is.
You have to use Shadowheart or else you're a cuck moron.
You have no aggro drawer or tank companion (Laezel is shit if you use you're moronic Black person)
So that ultimately makes the aggro/tanking to player character.
Movies?
Are there any good movies involving bear coitus?
b8 thread.
lefties make this about shit tier games so youll out yourself as a chud when you correctly say
