Storm has had an on/off thing with logan since before jean was shown to actually in any way recirpocrate logan's feelings. And even before that they interacted more with storm as leader and logan as the wildcard member.
The character blurb mentions jean's found family with callisto (the morlocks), it also mentions her having to take care of leech which if she was an x-man she'd leave at the school.
The thing is that before the movie the jean/logan thing was kinda buried, while they still toyed with logan and ro, the BP stuff made them stop (tho it also implied that logan wanted to frick her regardless) and afterwards it started stronger than ever being pushed as a main paring. That's adding x-men tas, days of future past and evo having it.
I mean, I assume they'd still have that actress play callisto too, but girlboss storm makes me think they'd at least lean on the cool punk astethic. And she makes more narrative sense to not be an x-man already.
I'll take girl boss storm any day over jean because at least storm has considerably less plot armor and her lightning powers don't solve everything. Jean could just mind control everyone that attacks her and doesn't even need to bother fighting them.

You make Laura less durable but more flighty and acrobatic and throw a lot more kicking into her moveset or animations or whatever because of the foot claws.
You could also have similar synergy with a character like Nightcrawler, dueling with swords and bamfing around the battlefield.

Same thing is happening in film. 2023 for example has a bunch of huge budget "flops" but almost all of them actually sold a bunch of tickets, its just there budgets were so sky high basically everyone of them would have had to been a near record setting block buster to make any money. Its unsustainable. Companies are betting all their chips on getting Endgame numbers on films so if they get a year WITHOUT a billion dollar product (or for AA, hundreds of dollars) it is a huge issue
A large part of the problem is that studios used streaming to try and kill the market for physical media, but physical media was more often than not the only thing that allowed low to mid budget films to actually make a profit. Streaming a film doesn't actually make money for shit. They successfully eliminated an entire avenue of profit trying to chase a golden goose that doesn't actually exist. People have always been more likely to turn out for high-budget movires, so now every film has to be a $250 million blockbuster with massive marketing deals and merchandising out the ass to even turn a profit.
I really do think we need a sort of Anarcho-Syndicalist arts endowment system for films and other such media to avoid corpo shit like this from happening more often

Damn this is clearly an insomniac twist on the X-men lore except completely moronic and not making any sense with their inherent character and history.
Interesting, I'm reading the original plot from 2021 from the same leaks and they changed quite a bit in the ending. The original ending was going to be Logan and Jean confronting Sinister and his sentinels to save the mutants together. It doesn't work out and they lose, so Jean tells Logan run away. Logan refuses because he wants to get revenge, so Jean in desperation mind controls him to get him to follow her. This triggers Logan and causes him to go berserk killing the mutants they're supposed to save and almost kills Jean until she makes him see the memory of his first kill as a child, which devastates him and he runs away. Later Jean is looking for him in the woods, where he has become feral, and beats him up (there's even a note left by the story writers saying that Jean could beat him effortlessly by mind controlling him, but won't do it). After she beats him up, she tells him that running away is pathetic and he needs to help her save the mutants. He agrees, helps her kill sinister, they save the mutants, Jean becomes their leader and and Logan retires to live in a cabin in the canadian wilderness. Then epilogue has Jean deciding to open a school for gifted children and a tease for the next villain. Thank God they scrapped this, if they sucked Jean's c**t any harder the game would have been titled after her.

They're clearly setting up for the x men sequels. Jean in particularly seems to be set up as the future x men founder and leader. Ever since the Claremont solo stuff Wolverine had greater adventures separate from mutants and x men. Sinister and Jean are being used to build up a greater mutant storyline.
Ideally a better secondary protagonist would be X 23, or Sabretooth, or Deadpool. I could see X 23 and Deadpool having big roles in the Wolverine sequel. It's kind of strange Deadpool isn't more prominent given the upcoming movie.
It really gets me that video games evolved just to look like some shitty live-action adaptation of a comic book instead of actually looking like a comic book.

Canonically Wolverine with the adamantium weighs around 300 lbs. Most powerlines are actually designed to hold up under at least a ton, not only because the lines themselves are actually extremely heavy, but in case of ice build up or debris.
Because the tiger stripes and mask are iconic, and Ultimate Wolverine barely qualifies as a costume. Man's a superhero, and the sooner we leave that shit and the FoX-Men plainclothes aesthetic behind, the better.

Is there actually a mandate from Marvel's games division that characters in licensed games have to look at least x% similar to their MCU versions? I'm worried about how they will handle the X-Men. The films massively focused on Wolverine to the detriment of other characters. Their last big ensemble film was Eternals which turned into a fricking shit show. Now we have an Xavier cameo in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness complete with X-Men Animated Series music stinger. A Beast cameo in The Marvels. X-Men '97 was pushed back and is coming out next year but has a lot of changes. Deadpool 3 has the void from Loki show with characters from Fox universe fighting Mad Max style. I have no faith we will get a decent film. The First Class series really wasted the characters and I didn't even watch their version of Dark Phoenix.

The character blurb mentions jean's found family with callisto (the morlocks), it also mentions her having to take care of leech which if she was an x-man she'd leave at the school.
The thing is that before the movie the jean/logan thing was kinda buried, while they still toyed with logan and ro, the BP stuff made them stop (tho it also implied that logan wanted to frick her regardless) and afterwards it started stronger than ever being pushed as a main paring. That's adding x-men tas, days of future past and evo having it.
I mean, I assume they'd still have that actress play callisto too, but girlboss storm makes me think they'd at least lean on the cool punk astethic. And she makes more narrative sense to not be an x-man already.

The problem is that that's not necessarily how the licensing works. Insomniac may have the rights to use the X-Men and the Spider-Man related characters, but not necessarily other Marvel heroes beyond cute little references. Especially with The Avengers having been a thing and prominently featuring the Hulk at the time this game went into development.

Same thing is happening in film. 2023 for example has a bunch of huge budget "flops" but almost all of them actually sold a bunch of tickets, its just there budgets were so sky high basically everyone of them would have had to been a near record setting block buster to make any money. Its unsustainable. Companies are betting all their chips on getting Endgame numbers on films so if they get a year WITHOUT a billion dollar product (or for AA, hundreds of dollars) it is a huge issue
A large part of the problem is that studios used streaming to try and kill the market for physical media, but physical media was more often than not the only thing that allowed low to mid budget films to actually make a profit. Streaming a film doesn't actually make money for shit. They successfully eliminated an entire avenue of profit trying to chase a golden goose that doesn't actually exist. People have always been more likely to turn out for high-budget movires, so now every film has to be a $250 million blockbuster with massive marketing deals and merchandising out the ass to even turn a profit.
I really do think we need a sort of Anarcho-Syndicalist arts endowment system for films and other such media to avoid corpo shit like this from happening more often

Interesting, I'm reading the original plot from 2021 from the same leaks and they changed quite a bit in the ending. The original ending was going to be Logan and Jean confronting Sinister and his sentinels to save the mutants together. It doesn't work out and they lose, so Jean tells Logan run away. Logan refuses because he wants to get revenge, so Jean in desperation mind controls him to get him to follow her. This triggers Logan and causes him to go berserk killing the mutants they're supposed to save and almost kills Jean until she makes him see the memory of his first kill as a child, which devastates him and he runs away. Later Jean is looking for him in the woods, where he has become feral, and beats him up (there's even a note left by the story writers saying that Jean could beat him effortlessly by mind controlling him, but won't do it). After she beats him up, she tells him that running away is pathetic and he needs to help her save the mutants. He agrees, helps her kill sinister, they save the mutants, Jean becomes their leader and and Logan retires to live in a cabin in the canadian wilderness. Then epilogue has Jean deciding to open a school for gifted children and a tease for the next villain. Thank God they scrapped this, if they sucked Jean's c**t any harder the game would have been titled after her.

Oversaturation isn't a recent concept, I think you underestimate how prevalent Wolverine was in Marvel a few decades ago, and how a lot of people were turned off by his omnipresence.

They're clearly setting up for the x men sequels. Jean in particularly seems to be set up as the future x men founder and leader. Ever since the Claremont solo stuff Wolverine had greater adventures separate from mutants and x men. Sinister and Jean are being used to build up a greater mutant storyline.
Ideally a better secondary protagonist would be X 23, or Sabretooth, or Deadpool. I could see X 23 and Deadpool having big roles in the Wolverine sequel. It's kind of strange Deadpool isn't more prominent given the upcoming movie.

Canonically Wolverine with the adamantium weighs around 300 lbs. Most powerlines are actually designed to hold up under at least a ton, not only because the lines themselves are actually extremely heavy, but in case of ice build up or debris.

The game's still eighteen months to two years away and general consensus on the script leak has been generally middling to outright negative - could we see a Half-Life 2 reworking in response to this?
Is there actually a mandate from Marvel's games division that characters in licensed games have to look at least x% similar to their MCU versions? Even the Japanese games like MvCI and MUA3, where you'd expect things to be a bit more whimsical, have this weird hybrid comics-MCU direction that's just plain galling.
MCU is more successful than the comics so it makes sense to copy the aesthetic of what people like. I think it looks ugly as shit in video games though.

Which their is a niche market for him thanks to Wesley Snipes movies and the whole vampire hunter gimmick. Not hard to make a game around that. Though I do have to ask how the frick the Avengers are not helping considering the trailer implies Paris is in quarantine given how bad vampirism has gotten. But Spider-Man 2 had an alien invasion so might as well let it go

Just make the assumption these other characters exist in the same world in some capacity. No I'm not saying Blade is connected to Spider-Man or Iron Man or whatever dev team's version of the Marvel universe is. It's all still Marvel, and Blade is a Marvel character with is own versions of these heroes acting somewhere off screen

What you fail to understand is that it's a fact of the fiction unless specified otherwise. It COULD be completely self-contained, pretending no other Marvel hero exists in this incarnation, but why make that assumption in the first place? When you play Batman Arkham Asylum, do you just pretend Superman doesn't exist?

The old films weren't great when it came to the female X-characters.

I'm worried about how they will handle the X-Men. The films massively focused on Wolverine to the detriment of other characters. Their last big ensemble film was Eternals which turned into a fricking shit show. Now we have an Xavier cameo in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness complete with X-Men Animated Series music stinger. A Beast cameo in The Marvels. X-Men '97 was pushed back and is coming out next year but has a lot of changes. Deadpool 3 has the void from Loki show with characters from Fox universe fighting Mad Max style. I have no faith we will get a decent film. The First Class series really wasted the characters and I didn't even watch their version of Dark Phoenix.
