I thought this until I started reading the WML run. So far he's the only one who's written her in good stories with an interesting and varied personality. I didn't gel much with the often recommended Perez run.
Wonder Woman never had a solid status quo like Batman and Superman, which leads to every Wonder Woman run trying to redefine who she is, which only worsens the issue. It's the comic book character equivalent of Homer's flying ham.
I thought he was a black dude with a computer Afro but reading the issue it turns out he’s Asian with a robot brain. His name is General Electric
I was disappointed that he wasn’t a black dude. A computer Afro would be cool
Wonder woman only has three kinds of villains. Either public domain villains from greek mythology, goofy silver age stuff that nobody can take seriously, or fetish villains meant to pander to lonely twenty something men.
I mean seriously. Blue Snowman, Doctor Poison? Nobody can take those guys seriously.
Bit of both but I'm leaning more on the cheesy silver age stereotype. If only because they'd never have a mexican stereotype like him in modern comics.
>mexican
ackshuly that's Argentinian. >they'd never have a mexican stereotype like him in modern comics.
A shame cause he is really accurate as opposed to a mish-mash of hispanic stereotypes. Also there's a lot of fetish material, from his chauvinistic attitudes to the fact he uses bolas as a weapon. The latter I don't know if it was intentional, but man you can drive symbolism from a weapon that looks like three testicles and whose name means balls!
>ackshuly that's Argentinian.
Do you think people who wrote these comic books in the Silver/Bronze Age cared? >you can drive symbolism from a weapon that looks like three testicles and whose name means balls!
Now that you mention that. I'm actually curious if he could work in like a grant morrison style wonder woman comic that deals with all the weird stuff about wonder womans creator head on.

At the very least they must have read a book on what a gaucho is, even if it were just a page of some world culture picture book pointing some characteristics or watched a movie 'bout them. But I don't care about "sensitivities", I care about accuracy and looking cool. They could have just done a cowboy with a Mexican hat but they went all in with the theme. He even uses robotic rheas (ñandú), and that bird is only found down in the South Cone. A nice detail. >if he could work in like a grant morrison style wonder woman comic that deals with all the weird stuff about wonder womans creator head on.
I dunno about what Morrison's done, though El Gaucho unlike some other of his contemporaries could pass off as a Marston creation, maybe if focusing in that sexual subtext angle. Taming cattle and horses is a tradition down there.
In the cinematic universe that went nowhere and is now officially dead and set to have another failed reboot.
That and the Doc Poison in that movie had nothing in common with the Doc Poison in the comics. What's the point of even doing a Superhero movie if you aren't going to embrace at least a little bit of the absurdity?
Moving goalposts. A lot of villains get changed a but for movies regardless if the franchise is still going or not, that first movie did well and nobody had a problem with Doctor Poison.
it's true, most of her villains are shit and work better with other characters. Possibly her only good and memorable villain apart from Cheetah is Circe
Wonder Woman is just a boring character in general with bad writers
All comic book heroes are boring
Shut the hell up.
true, only the space-themed ones and gag characters are good
this, wonder woman's rogues are all better than her
Perez's run is elder god-tier, Rucka is pretty good despite his retardation, Byrne gets an honorable mention. Everyone else is liquid shit.

Even as far back as the early 60s, everyone was trying to reinvent the wheel with WW.
OH SHIT NIGGA ITS YAKUB
Is this character meant to be black or Chinese?
I thought he was a black dude with a computer Afro but reading the issue it turns out he’s Asian with a robot brain. His name is General Electric

>General Electric
This is the most kickass villain name I have ever heard Jesus Christ
>His name is General Electric
Goddamnit.
>General Electric
Is he related to George Lopez?
I actually thought he had a tiny city in his afro.
>His name is General Electric
Word?
>General Electric
>Egg-Fu
Why does Wonder Woman have two evil cyborg asian supergeniuses as villains?
Looks like a little model town in there, not a computer.
Am I the only one who thinks the perspective of the machinery in his head doesn't line up with the perspective of the rest of the head?
>Wonder Woman has a terrible rogues gallery….
Not really
Wonder woman only has three kinds of villains. Either public domain villains from greek mythology, goofy silver age stuff that nobody can take seriously, or fetish villains meant to pander to lonely twenty something men.
I mean seriously. Blue Snowman, Doctor Poison? Nobody can take those guys seriously.
She's a fetish hero meant to pander to lonely twenty something men, what do you want
what about "new shitty OC villain that will be discarded in the next run"?
did they rip of assassins creed or did assassins creed rip them off?
Proabably the first.
This was definitely a product of the derangement syndrome of the comic book industry at the time and currently.
Why is this the first time I've heard of the "Lasso of Lies" as the villainous counterpart to WW's lasso of truth? I mean, it's kinda obvious.
Because that's fucking retarded.
because she already has like 3 villains based on deceit?
What about El Gaucho, is he more of a cheesy Silver Age stereotype or a fetish guy?

People seemed to like her in the movie
In the cinematic universe that went nowhere and is now officially dead and set to have another failed reboot.

She was still second fiddle to Ares and the german general.
And that still has nothing to do with what you originally said.
Cheetah, Giganta, Ares, Circle, Duke of Deception, Silver Swan, Doctor Poison, Decay, Egg Fu
Damn
>Egg Fu
Wasn't he a villain on the Adam West Batman Tv show?
That was egg head (Vincent price)
Egg Fu was a giant egg from China with a long fu Manchu mustache
I don’t mind his new origin as an Apokalips supercomputer but he should keep the mustache
I like his new look...but yeah he should have kept the facial hair.
I don't think he ever had any origin before. He was just a giant egg
Greek myth figures and sexy girls. Great rogues gallery.
Why kill her, when he can get her addicted to big British broadcasting?
MEKANO-MIND WILL RAPE WONDER WOMAN TO DEATH.
You act like every hero doesn't have retarded villains like this
it's true, most of her villains are shit and work better with other characters. Possibly her only good and memorable villain apart from Cheetah is Circe
Is it just me or does this guy look a lot like Angstrom Levy?
I mean Rob Kirkman did read a lot of comic books. So it's possible he may have seen a character like this at some point.
What are you talking about, there is not a sissy in the bunch.
>Wonder Woman has a terrible rogues galle-
who the fuck is this
reminds me of baxter stockman at the end of TMNT2003
Surprised they called him General Electric like the actual company.
