First season, yes it’s pretty great. Then don’t watch anything after. The quality nose dives off a cliff.

This right here. I told everybody at the water cooler to watch season one when it came out I fricking loved it that much. Then Season 2 fell off so hard I couldn'teven finish it. I heard S3 is an improvement but honestly I'm over the whole superhero deconstruction concept. It got old real fast.

Season 3 is pretty great until the start of episode 7, then it loses its way

Seconding this. The show actually has teeth in season 1 and the supers are actually terrifying and the desperation of the boys feels real. Season two throws all that out the window and tries to replace it with just shock and gore to trick you that it's still there but it becomes obvious that there's no actual threats to the main characters because Amazon is trying to stretch out the show. S3 is a little better than 2 thanks to a slightly better plot and soldier boy, still wouldn't recommend it though.

I knew it was gonna be shit as soon as the baby was alive. Then read some article where writers explained why and they sounded like COMPLETE hacks.

First season is great, second season is meh, third season is good for the most part and then completely shits itself at the very end. Only watch if you've got nothing else to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4N7lYQnXSI&ab_channel=MustafaKo%C3%A7

It's cynical garbage. Everyone is an butthole. They wrote themselves into a corner by making the main villain all powerful and also a psychopath so you have no leverage over him so it feels like the protagonists are only allowed to progress because of his mercy or indifference. Like he can pop in at any time to see what they are plotting but he just lets them be. All while killing someone loyal to him over 1 issue.

As usual with edgy series and games they went all in on season 1 but couldn't deliver on later seasons because none of the established characters are allowed to die now

the amount of bullshit filler in the boys is unreal. nothing happens until the final five minutes of every episode

It's like a soap opera where everything gets recycled each season, is fricking boring a lot of the time, the acting is atrocious from most of the cast. The only redeeming quality are the occasional jabs at the ruthless business practices of megacorporations on social matters and what's making the most cash, or "cultural Marxism" according to mouth breathing hillybillies.

I don't understand how the whole aquaman saga is supposed to be worth dedicating half the show. who the frick cares about him, really? his whole shtick should have ended in s1

funnily enough aquaman is one of the few characters who surprised me by genuinely caring about the sea animals. every other supe is written as a complete sociopath who cares about nothing and if they are good they get killed off

yeah i mean he's more of a "real" character. but i really don't care about his deal with trying to get back into the limelight. should have been done quickly, no one cares about this long story

Oh it was fricking great man you missed out, that and Maeve somehow fricking surviving were hilarious

What's especially egregious about this whole forced drama is that Soldier Boy didn't even have to kill Ryan, he could've just depowered him. And even if SB was deadset on killing Ryan there is literally no reason to turn on him in that moment when Homelander is still by far the biggest threat.

    >this aired in the summer of Black Lives Matter burning cities

Genuinely the worst written popular show I’ve ever seen. Every single character is tainted by the need for the writers to insert political bullshit even when it means they have to bend reality

    >literally has Maeve de powered, blown up, and fall from a skyscraper
    >she is written to survive, because the writers decided they would refuse to let a LGBT character die

Also every episode has the characters forget what they did in the previous episode. It’s bizarre. Major character moments will happen but never mentioned again or brushed over like it’s irrelevant

    >starlight murders an innocent man to steal his car
    >butcher for some reason approves of this even though his entire reason for existing is hating supes abusing their power
    >starlight proceeds to tell hughie off for “working with a murderer” referring to butcher
    >for some reason butcher never ever tells Hughie what starlight did, even when he wanted him to stay away from her. Starlight never tells Hughie this happened either. The show just acts like it didn’t happen

murders an innocent man to steal his car

when did this happen? i forgot

        Anonymous

Season 2 I think, it was after they raided a super hospital and a buncha of them escaped and one fricked Hughie up.

In season 2. Hughie is injured. They flag down a random dude in his car. Ask him to just… give them his car so they can go to a hospital

He literally says he will drive them to a hospital but he isn’t gonna let them take his car. Because why the frick would you let people just take your car? It’s in the middle of nowhere too

At this point the dude sees butcher reaching for his gun, so the guy pulls out his own pistol. Tells them to stay still. Since he’s reasonably afraid they’re gonna fricking murder him to steal his car

At this point. Starlight. The woman who is fricking bullet proof and has super strength.. Instead of just… standing in between this dude and butcher/Hughie. Murders him with her light powers and cracks his head open on the road.

Not only that. She says she doesn’t even feel guilty about it on the car ride the hospital and butcher thinks this is good for some reason.

It makes sense when you realise every single character only exists for political messages. What’s the message here?

        >man had a gun
        >man said “this is a stand your ground state”
        >writers hate gun owners and self defense, so it’s actually good that starlight murdered him to steal his car

They literally wrote it that way too. Could’ve just as easily had starlight knock him out or grab his gun after blocking the bulletin or something. But no, he represents people the writers hate so they have the “moral” character kill him and say she doesn’t feel guilty about it

          Here’s another example

          >Todd is supposed to be some Trump supporter stand in, rants about how the mainstream news is fake
          >Mother’s Milk is angered by this. Writing is supposed to indicate Todd is stupid and wrong
          >this is the same show where they repeatedly show that yes, the news is in fact fake and covers up stuff all the time. Mother’s Milk knows this but forgot I guess

A Train is still alive for some reason. And they’re trying so hard to give him a redemption arc he doesn’t deserve. Just because his black

Hughie kicked his head off in the comic, but revenge is Le evil. Unless you’re starlight or Maeve, then it’s good.

It is good. So far it has peaked at Season 1 tho, Season 2 was good but had some flaws and Season 3 was half really good half extremely cringe.

      Anonymous

It’s not good. Season 1 was good, but as soon as they hit that twist ending they fricked the entire show.

Also it’s just boring as frick because they refuse to let plots actually happen

Literally 3 seasons of “homelander stands around ominously”l why the frick should I care if he “might snap” at this point?

      >got his ass kicked by Maeve
      >got his ass kicked by suped up Butcher
      >they could’ve killed him with soldier boy but decided soldier was more dangerous than the flying guy with super speed and laser eyes

We know Butcher can’t die. We know Homelander can’t die. They will milk this until the teets dry
