You can download the manga and check for yourself (it's finally fully scanned in English), but if you're curious, he goes catatonic after killing Claudia, survives an assassination attempt, recovers his mind with Newtype bullshit and is given the Perfect Zeong to pilot. Personally, I wanted Io killed long ago (it's absurd that he acts more immature than literal child protagonists in other Gundam series), but Ohtagaki insists on maintaining the "dual protagonist" structure to the bitter end
Yeah, I'm not interested in reading about Zeongays, I just don't find Zeon perspective/POV to be compelling at all, every attempt at humanizing their side fails because ultimately they're the ones constantly committing crimes against humanity and war atrocities and dropping colonies on Earth. Aside from aesthetic of a few mobile suits they have on their side - like the Kampfer - I don't understand why people keep fanboying so hard for them.
Io's gotten some development, so fighting for the hell of it might have lost its appeal to him. He also started to care about the people he's fighting with after losing everything he cared about.
Meanwhile, Daryl is I'm basically using the monk situation as an excuse to continue piloting and destroy Anaheim.

It's the other way around. Even after being mindbroken, Io is still an incurable manchild that likes to pilot for thrills. Whatever principles he may have are a veneer. It's a sport for him.
Darryl only cares about one thing: the Psycho Zaku makes him whole again. As in, having something close to an actual body with limbs, rather than being bolted to a bunch of malfunctioning prosthetics.
Zeon, the monks, Newtype awakening, his comrades. All of that is more or less irrelevant to him. He's even very cold towards Karla after escaping from the Zeon remnants and her gaining her memories with Buddhist Newtype magic.
Io likes robots in general and piloting them. But doing so to fight and get his high is something doesn't seem to appeal ro him like before, the manga practically spells out his two reasons to fight suring the museum chapter. If he survives the Manga, he might join Anaheim and become a test pilot.
> Would he have joined the titans?
Io Flemming is a spacenoid, and therefore wouldn't get a chance to join the Titans. And given Io's personality, he wouldn't just take that kind of rejection. He'd find a way into AEUG just to kill the Titans out of spite for rejecting him.
>Io Flemming is a spacenoid, and therefore wouldn't get a chance to join the Titans.
The titans don't give a frick if you're a spacenoid only if you're loyal and have a skill they value. Remember they recruited Kamilles parents to design the MkII for them plus there was Paptimus
>The titans don't give a frick if you're a spacenoid only if you're loyal and have a skill they value.
Except Bask made it known that the Titans don't recruit spacenoids because he hates them, and rejected the idea that Jamaican forwarded to extend recruitment to them. The Titans under Scirocco more than likely would have for obvious reasons, but they lasted for like one week. >Remember they recruited Kamilles parents to design the MkII for them plus there was Paptimus
Kamille and both of his parents are from Earth.
I'm not joining any military organization in the UC century. When you think that humanity is killing itself to extinction, and the casualty rates are absurdly high even in small skirmish tier wars like Gryps conflict and Neo Zeon Wars, no way in hell am I going to join
>Most newtypes are mentally unstable >Oldtypes who had no special powers could put up a fight against them
This series forgot that most of the newtypes were fodder and only some of them were good
Obviously, yes.
In a heart beat.
Only if he remained the Io in the beginning.
As the other anon pointed out, only early Io. Current Io would join thr AEUG for obvious reasons.
>Current Io would join the AEUG for obvious reasons.
Which reasons would that be? And no, Anaheim sold weapons to both sides during Gryps.
How is the manga? Do they do justice to Io in it or do they just jack off the Zeongays constantly?

See, I don't care for Daryl at all.

nta but do you have a link?
You're lucky. I uploaded the entire thing on Mega a while ago.

Thanks anon

They did, but AEUG was mostly an Anaheim venture. It's also the last real connection he has with his dad.
Whoever lets him fly suits which are fast, loud and powerful. The guy's a test pilot at heart.
That said he'd probably love a Zeta Plus
I see him as more of a gaplant or gabthley guy
Hrairoo seems like his kind of MS/MA.
Agree but side note, I always hated how they gave this thing a gundam head. I think it takes away a lot of the cool factor that the gaplant has
Paint the v-crest dark blue or remove it entirely and it looks so much better.

I'm guessing Io's backup waifu died?

FRICK OFF TOURIST
so that's a yes

I still don’t know what thunderbolt is doing. I feel like it wasn’t meant to go past the original space confrontation.
Thunderbolt feels like the author is trying to kill it but doesnt know how it still sells so hes stuck to keep going.
>Author's note
>"WHY THE FRICK ARE YOU moronS STILL BUYING THIS SHIT?!"
G gundam is proof no matter how hard you try, they will find a way
They'll still keep buying it even if he says to stop. They'll buy it more just to spite him
The whole Buddhist military shit is kinda boring
