Would it be cringe going outside with clothes like this?

In my opinion it looks cool, but people would probably think I am a clown if they see me.

Would you ever wear something about your favorite series?

I wear a Kaine Scarlet spider hoodie and no one has called me a gay until after I correct their "cool spider-man hoodie" with "Actually it's Kaine, Spider-Man's clone brother, he first appeared in Web of Spiderman #119 back in December 1994"

Yeah, it's cringe af. With that said I've worn them under a jacket while going to the local store at 10pm. Most public would've been when I wore a Venom hoodie on a flight to Vegas, but anything goes there.

    YES.

Not because of the jacket. You are asking fashion advice from Cinemaphile.

You are asking fashion advice from COMIC BOOK NERDS.

Nothing you wear will fix the internal cringe. Do that, or give less fricks.

I have a spider-man hoodie like this but the hood fully zips to look like a mask. I only wore it twice at a comic con

        what about this

        >cringe
The people that care are cringe for not having better priorities in their life to care about and focus on others lives. But that doesn't mean you're off the hook because its equally your fault if you look like a generic fat slob/skinny nerd when wearing pop culture/fandom memorabilia.

So its simple, be attractive and you can wear anything without concern! Seriously focus on yourself not how others see you and be happy with what makes you happy.

It's fine. It doesn't exactly look "cool," as in hip or chic or whatever, but it signals that you're a fan and is a good conversation starter. If you sat next to me on the train or bar or something i'd be like, "Stoked for the game next week?" "Just saw some spoilers of the next ASM issue, man wtf is going on over at Marvel editorial?" etc.

I've gotten a few Uniqlo pieces, like DBZ and NGE and have gotten into conversations w/ strangers over them

Yeah, that's tacky as shit. You wear the ones without webbing, those you can actually match with other clothes.

It isn't cringe until you either pull it off to reveal a Spider-Man shirt underneath, or zip the hood up to make the mask.

Find one that's just a black tee with the white logo on it.

All my nerd shit and graphic tees are gifts from my Wife and I only wear them when hanging around the house or going to a family party that's not a formal event.

Who fricking cares what people think? If you like it and it represents your interests, it could potentially attract other people with similar interests. You could dress to attract people who are totally different from you, but that won't make them like you, and you won't like hanging out with them.

Kind of. But I think because it’s too costume like. I see people with the Superman shirt all the time, but it’s generally just the logo. Simplicity is better.

Apparently not. Oddly, its mostly black people.

Literally more than half of the people I see come in to shop at my work wear anime shirts. Some probably too old or too young to have watched it

Anime shirts are becoming like band t-shirts (lord knows I've seen plenty of Sublime and Nirvana on late teens/early 20's girls) where they just wear them without context because they think they're cool

The most people can get away with is a well fitting graphic tee or sweatshirt with [cartoon logo or popular character] on it.
I've noted that the more older the design of the character, the less embarrasing it is.

Eh, I was give a Demogorgon hood as a gift, it had a huge ass stamp on the back and it's not even my size. But it's warm so I use it whenever it's cold, I don't give much of a crap tbh.

OP, frick 'cringe'. If they're judging you for what you're into, they aren't worth knowing.

    > be 18-year-old stoner in first week of college
    > decide to carry around a spider-man lunchbox for some ungodly reason
    > literally a perfectly square tin lunchbox with comic book panels all over it and 'THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN' in huge letters
    > while walking across campus, a rainstorm hits, i take cover under an awning with 5 other people
    > one of them says "hey man, i like your lunchbox"
    > i say "thanks man"
    > he asks what i have inside of it
    > i open it to reveal an unopened pair of 3d glasses from the first avengers movie, two packs of cigarettes, and a bag of weed
    > he instantly understands my personality and who i am, and more importantly, that i am comfortable with it

I ended up becoming friends with that entire group of people due to the conversation the lunchbox sparked and am still friends with a couple of them a decade later. Point being - the thing that's actually unappealing to people about 'cringe' is the insecurity of the person being 'cringy'. If you're confident, then you're a fricking stallion no matter what shirt you have on.

I own 3 Spider-Man shirts and a Venom shirt. Like every second kid at my high school wore anime merch and I've seen plenty of other people with superhero shirts or hoodies around my campus. You'll probably get more compliments than insults, going off of my experience.

  24. 7 months ago

You'll be cooler if you wear it and not give a frick what anyone thinks
You'll probably get more compliments than people laughing at you, some might even ask where you got it because they might want one too
