I don't know. But with all of the tax money we give the government, why aren't they able to build brand new cities like this, as other countries do.

We are just waiting for gays like Musk and Bezos to build cities at this point

I don't care. If Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia are able to build new cities, we should be able to.

Who would move though? The only Americans with over 1k in the bank are either criminals, or worse. Plus who would build it, we only have Mexicans building houses here and they always do it too quickly and under standard

Honestly I would love more futuristic cities but under the jurisdiction of our current government would be a big layer of shit over the whole experience. Prepare for cultural enrichment.

            >excuses
This kind of sitting on hands makes me think you work in the government.

Black person it isn't an excuse, it's a reality. Have you ever used public transportation in a major american city?

You could have used for an argument, that Washington DC and Philadelphia, the only two major planned cities in America still have garbage public transportation, instead of seething, but I obviously can destroy that line of thinking no problem, child.

Can you though? I'm interested. I'll even bait by saying the gross inequality between middle and upper class, will never allow for cultural homogeny in America. The economy is literally built on consumers, and a slave labor class. Just look at Austin. Endless demand for mcdonalds, but none of the workers can even afford rent

Washington DC and Philadelphia were planned and built, before trains and automobiles were invented.

That's irrelevant. Socioeconimics is just as important as city planning. Unless you just want to build a city nobody lives in

I mean, Egypt spent 20 billion dollars on their new capital, that's nothing for us to generate. You wouldn't even notice the change in your taxes. Indonesia's new capital is costing 35 billion.

      >why aren't they able to build brand new cities like this
They used to in the 50s-60s, actually the French Disneyland is built in one of these "cities of the future"

This is a really complicated question. Effectively the simple answer is the free market is not free. Cities, counties and states get in the way of this stuff. On top of that certain industries are pushed and maximizing profit is also pushed. Other countries are in phase similar to what the US experience in the 60's and 70's. The recession we experienced lately actually accurately mimicked the one from the 80's. What happens next is actually going to be really interesting.... in 10 years.

"Worked" is a strong word, but I think it would have been built if Walt had had another five or six years.

I don't know, but my new house share has a tiny Indian girl and I think she wants me cokkk.
I'll happily give her the big Aryan cokkk, but I'm massively addicted to porn - I'm only on day 2 of no porn and it's meant to take 3 weeks to get normal boners again.

    >spend your whole life in Epcot
    >reach retirement age
    >get kicked out cause everyone who lives in Epcot must be working
No because demanding everyone has to work makes no sense.

They probably would have built a retirement village after a while.
They just wanted everyone to live there when it was built to be young couples who were starting families.
Are you moronic? You'd fit right in with the goons who devoured disney after his death.

Disney had no intentions of making Epcot a place for old people. He wanted it to be a city of people who are workers. The whole reason it never happened is because the goons who took over saw it as a waste of money.

You put together two unconnected points in one paragraph anon, so I'll take it slow so you can understand as you're starting to sound like a bot.
          >Disney never intended it to have old people
First off anon, as I said, Disney himself likely would have built a suburb for retirees of residents. He wanted a city as quickly and efficiently as possible. Old people would be burdens and non-functional, there's a reason why their communities are separated from regular people even today. We are talking about DECADES here, use your head yeah?
          >goons saw it as a waste of money
Yeah anon, and you just said it didn't make any sense to have everyone work. Two equally dumb ideas, see how you might think alike to said goons? Try making up an argument next time champ.
