Would there actually be a market for a theatrically-released Overwatch CG movie? The quality of the animation in those promo clips is excellent.

No. Like the Warcraft movie it'd be too little, too late.
I'd end up watching it but mostly just because I like the animation. I haven't played the game in years and to my knowledge ain't shit happened in the lore.
Maybe a few years ago but the franchise is funding dead now.
In 2016-19, absolutely. Now? Not really, I mean the game still does okay off the back of Blizzdrones and people who still play it casually as a social thing but Overwatch as an IP is years past its prime and outside of the cultural zeitgeist.
Also remember that Netflix optioned it for an "anime" series years back and it never went anywhere.

Would be curious to know what happened to this and the Diablo series. A victim of Netflix gutting their animation department or did Actiblizz get difficult?
>that time before the first game released where they were showing all the trailers in one go in the cinema
I was tempted to go to it as I was a moron
No. Nobody cares for those characters (outside of porn) anymore
The game is dead. People only care about the porn now.
Overwatch is basically Cinemaphile's equivalent of Bleach. Far more people have fapped to porn of the girls than have ever played the game.
I remember the hoax about a netflix series
Movie no, but I feel like a show in this style has potential.
Yes
only as porn
It'd probably do okay as a sort of Big Hero 6-esque thing
It will never happen because that would mean Blizzard would have to write a semi-competent story for the game. That sure as shit isn't happening
How relevant is LoL still? It managed to get a show relatively recenty. That would prob work better for OW than a theatrical release
>How relevant is LoL still?
trailers, music videos, etc all still get millions of views each
the show they revealed got a million views in mere hours for 20 seconds of animation
Damn. Overwatch had that kind of popularity at one point, shame they squandered the frick out of it
No joke I am coming back for the NB hero. It took them this long but I'm happy.
its too late now, OW peaked 7 years ago
