yeah i need to find the cited source where thorium is proven ghost-impermeable otherwise this entire comic's premise of murdering people into ghosts to turn them into Gods doesn't hold water.
Of course not, the souls immediately dissipate into the warp and get devoured by daemons or warp entities, or just get dissolved in the roiling energies of the immaterium
Of course not. The New Gods are made by the Throne of Ascension, and the Ascended Gods are created through the union of a mortal and a New God. The Old Gods stand outside of time, are without beginning or end and have no relation to humanity whatsoever. None of these involve a mass sacrifice or huge amounts of heat. Basic Theology 101
No worse use of time than what I'm doing currently, really. Plus we've got plenty of occult shops and the like around here, being the prophet or herald of some entity would definitely draw crowds.
Read up on a few people that sort of adopted his philosophy like Oberon Zell, seems like an alright bloke. Been meaning to watch the animated versions of his earlier novels too.
>Simple enough >The shell must have 18000 to 36000 cubic feet of interior space. >It must be sealed then lined with god knows how much thorium >Then you need explosives strong enough to crush that thorium enough to crush the ghosts until they create a reaction but somehow not strong enough to compromise the exterior shell.
A fricking theoretical physicists came up with this, didnt he?
This seems like alot of effort. Why not just nuke Russia? They will send nukes back and the surface will be destoyed. Easy and the bombs already exist.
>science is the study of the natural world >ghosts exist in the natural world
Why would the scientists not study them? I suppose if its a theocracy then the clergy would have a monopoly on such things
If we are being technical its kinda the natural result of all religions. Before the modern age science and religion were the same, most big scientists were also theologians, chemistry is born out of alchemy, theology (the study of God) was just another branch of seeking knowledge, its only until the early modern era that science loses its mysticism.
>its only until the early modern era that science loses its mysticism
to the scientist, perhaps. To the layman, the various fields of science have only become more mystical and arcane. A case in point here is the "I Fricking Love Science" crowd
We still have scientists who remain religious. Im not expert but research down to the fundamentals doesn’t really explain where the fundamentals came from. I mean okay gravity exists, but why? None of it particularly implies self-creation of the universe.
The aether is just an incredibly fine medium we can’t measure or perceive
Imagine a fish getting out of water and saying “him yes I am now in a “waterless-“vaccum” when in reality air is just finer than water. The same thing applies to us and “space”. Ghosts operate in this space and so does consciousness and so does human life force. You’d need to create a material that operated within the same space(not currently possible) or to simply gather a bunch of ascetic people and have them preform concentrated prayer to channel the energy needed for the bomb.
Why would you bother creating a new god instead of using one of the ones that already exist though?
As the comic clearly shows, it's the creation of the god that releases the heat.
Because the current one is a homosexual.
What if it's a god of winter?
Then you can solve climate change and party like it's 536
>a god
>with only 1024 human souls
I wonder what kind of god it'd be
>Only
Every human soul is equal to a god, the demiurge is trying to hold us down because he knows that we’re spiritually superior
Oh yeah? Prove it, give me unlimited booze
do it with your own god powers homie tf u need me for
Booze is literally how the Archons keep us defeated and obedient
Given it's made up of people who died suffocating slowly in a metal box just for scienctific whimsy; probably not very nice.
>A god is just 1024
Maybe if you're Shinto, but at that point just find one of the thousands of heat-related gods.
>Would this be scientifically possible?
are you a moron? of course not
thorium is not ghost-impermiable, the ghosts would escape
yeah i need to find the cited source where thorium is proven ghost-impermeable otherwise this entire comic's premise of murdering people into ghosts to turn them into Gods doesn't hold water.
Exactly. Finally, someone reasonable in this shithole
No because there's no good way to remove the corpses without letting the ghosts out.
Of course not, the souls immediately dissipate into the warp and get devoured by daemons or warp entities, or just get dissolved in the roiling energies of the immaterium
no, because spirits operate on a completely different dimension, as such you can't really capture them
Tell us more, we need the hard science.
Making a god by executing and compressing the souls of over 1000 people would probably make a pissed off god.
Thus the heat and explosion, fricking duh. This isn't 2nd grade science with baking soda and vinegar.
I dunno, man, I am not a ghostologist.

Ghost here, I can go through thorium easily
You'd be better off salvaging an old vessel than creating something entirely new.
Indeed. The Goddess of Fear and Hunger ascended using the corpse of the God of the Depths as a catalyst.
Anon, don't think about it. That's how you wake them up. Worse, they might even respawn near you and choose your curious ass as their new prophet.
Cute
At this point I welcome it, been meaning to find a new "rhythm of life" as it were.
Is performative worship of alleged dead gods really it?
No worse use of time than what I'm doing currently, really. Plus we've got plenty of occult shops and the like around here, being the prophet or herald of some entity would definitely draw crowds.
Well I suppose anything’s an upgrade
Here's your book recommendation of the day
Read up on a few people that sort of adopted his philosophy like Oberon Zell, seems like an alright bloke. Been meaning to watch the animated versions of his earlier novels too.
Isn't that what Xenu did?
This is basically the plot to Evangelion.
Well, in Eva they put the artificial gods in colorful armor and make them obey the whims of depressed teenagers, but yeah.
This semester's courses really did a number on me, I immediately recognized 1024 to be 2^10.
>2+2=4, I learned it in school.
I clicked [Update] on this thread and it opened the fricking console command, I feel like you guys invoked divine wrath
No, Makima will probably just send Chainsaw man to eat or shoot it down with Anti-Ghost MOABs or something.

High chance their bombs fall apart en route. Why not beam furry porn on broadcast to the local galaxy and await a RKV?
I don't think you know what science is OP
>science is the study of the natural world
>ghosts exist in the natural world
Why would the scientists not study them? I suppose if its a theocracy then the clergy would have a monopoly on such things
science religions are kino worldbuilding

An expert*

Why create a god you can't control? Why create a doomsday weapon, either?
Ignoring the inevitable divine wrath and the fact that only hellfire is strong enough to trap souls I could see this made in about… 20 years
Sounds familiar
No, you need compression charges on at least four sides. Two of those pusher plates are moving for no reason.
Do NOT try this. It just makes a greater daemon of sulfur. It killed my fricking dog.
