I honestly think the ending sucks, glorifying a troony/drag queen and making Linda out to be the bad guy for wanting her tree back.
Bob's Burgers needs more supernatural stuff it's too grounded in reality.

I don't think Bob's Burgers needs to be less grounded and more supernatural but the show takes place at the Jersey Shore but feels like it's written by Californians who don't know anything about New Jersey. New Jersey has a lot of local urban legends. It feels like an element missing from the location.

The restaurant was actually based on a San Francisco Diner.

But the show is supposed to take place in New Jersey.

Yeah New Jersey has a flavor to it that is lacking in the show.

Yeah. Having grown up at the Jersey Show it lacks a certain thing. Though that episode about the shitty aquarium hit very close to home.

              >But the show is supposed to take place in New Jersey
Yeah but apparently the inspiration for the show came from the sowrunner's time in San Francisco.
Which explains this weird moment in that lobsterfest episode where Bob is blaiming the fact that he's a burger man in a seafood town which I already felt weird for NJ but maybe makes more sense in San Francisco?

Then the show should take place in San Francisco or a California shore town. I think when you decide a show takes place in a certain state or region you really have to commit.

lobster are east coast though? unless frisco has rock lobster fests

part of the issue is, everywhere is california now. Golan wasn't lying with that 'minnesota is the new california' shit.

Not him but at the Jersey Shore there are nice sea food places, but the primary foods are typical quick foods like pizza, burgers, cheesestakes, etc with a good mix of fairfoods mixed in. As you travel off the beach you'll find Italian food, pizza, and bagels readily accessible. If Bob's Burgers took place in a Maryland beach town, like Ocean City, then yeah, he'd be screwed by being a sea food town because those shore towns are basically a sea food place every ten feet filled with tourists who go there to eat sea food but cities like Point Pleasant or Seaside Heights they're much less common.

We never really see those seafood places in Bob's Burger though despite a beach town.

And you know what is else has been lacking? Colorful characters.

Was it confirmed Jersey shore? I thought it was just “east coast” somewhere. They also have lobsterfest which implies further north.

I forget which episode but when they take a roadtrip there's a map that places them in New Jersey. The show's crew tries to be informal about it but they also refer to the town as Seymour's Bay, New Jersey behind the scenes and you can see various little things like News Papers and signs that confirm that.

It is a fact that DJ stole that tree which is wrong but I don't think adding supernatural elements is the answer here.
        >too grounded in the reality
Yeah but that wasn't the problem with the ending of this episode, in fact the problem is the conflict is just too artifice.
        >we want Bob and Linda be at a christmas rave
        >but they can't just go to a christmas rave, they need to be solving a mystery to even get to the rave
        >so we're gonna have the DJ of the rave apparently deciding he needs to steal a family owned small business's Christmas tree even though why?
        >he could've asked if they can loan it to him or let him buy it from them.
        >he could even just ask, Linda sounded incredibly supportive and would've probably just gave it to him

It wasn't the DJ it was some random troonyfricker.

No, the DJ was the one who stole it.

No, it was art, the party planner. He was not the Dj.

I guess part of the lesson is "When you're driven underground (even for completely legitimate reasons, that bar got shut down for violating code), you get used to behaving in secret ways and get comfortable violating others"
          a surprisingly correct message

I mean if The Great North can have the yeti exist in theirs world I can't see way Bob's Burgers can't have an supernatural creature exist in theirs.

the part that weirded me out is
why did they have to make up an original christmas monster, as if someone owned the trademark on Krampus?
