I actually liked the Spear plus Fang vs early civilisation angle, although I feel the boat setting got a bit boring after a while. While it was a creative idea, having them spend more time on land outside of the montage scene would have made for more interesting environments for fight scenes like in season 1.

2nd season of Primal is still way better than Unicorn though. I don't know what went so wrong with that show.
as someone obsessed, i have to disagree. unicorn isn't the best, but it was real good at keeping me interested. the cliffhangers weren't plot intrusive like in primal season 2 and always came AFTER the task of the episode was done, not in the middle amd the ending, while random as frick, didn't shit on itself by rushing through itself and abandoning its established characters. unicorn was alright, primal season 2 was dogshit

Yeah, that story sucked ass and it really didn't have to. If there weren't only 3 bad guys spread over 10 episodes and if their defeats weren't so anticlimactic the season could have even been better than the first one. Imagine if spear and fang had to fight their way through different kinds of civilizations, each with their own technologies. it also didn't all have to be humans cause an alien abduction episode would have been fricking cool as shit so long as it doesn't get stretched to 3 parts.

What annoys me about season two is that they made the villains vikings instead of something more thematically appropriate like Phoenicians.
The moment when Mira mounted Spear I couldn't stop but remember that scene from Kung-Pow "No please I have a wound there."
