SPHINX!
I know it's not an entity anymore but it was the coolest org in the show.
I'll do it all right
I love the Monarch, but I wouldn’t want to be his henchman considering how disposable they are. That seems to be an issue with most, if not all, of the organizations in VB. Life has so little worth in such a fun show
Anon henches for NO man.
Seriously, did you never hear the "not your personal army" bit? It's an older meme, but it's still applicable.
I will be NOman and you will hunch for me! NYAAAAHAAAHAAAHAÀA
>hench for the guy that either doesn't pay or barely pays his henchmen
>that barely arms them and dresses them in terrycloth jerkins
>and sends them to die in droves against Brock fricking Sampson
I would rather hench for Hatred and gangbang Princess Tinyfeet
Actually useful superpowers seem to be few and far between in this show. If I ever got into the arching life I'd probably be some level 1-2 freelance villain, just as a hobby since the pay must be ass
>the pay must be ass
>You're legally protected to preform almost any crime.
You have to pay Guild dues for those rights. There's a reason most villains are just rich, bored jackasses.
Frick no i wouldn't. It has literally only worked out for 21 and even then not smoothly.
Doesn't sound like you get much clearance to do things until you're a 3-4 since lower than that is just stunts against whoever you arch. That said what would your villain concept be and who would you arch?
>Actually useful superpowers seem to be few and far between in this show.
Venture bros takes inspiration from pulp and golden age heroes, so most people are either powerless or have meh powers like very low tier super strength (1 to 5 tons).
>do you want to fight Brock Samson
FRICK no.
Well only 3 times monarch henchman has taken down Brock samson
>ywn have his marriage
Open marriages never work out anon, no matter how media portrays them
anon this is a tv show about manchild larpers with superpowers and youre nitpicking the accuracy of a relationship between supervillains.
The worst quality of the monarch is his belief that all his henchmen are disposable. Of course you need the endless troops to die at the hands of Brock Samson but you need to make sure your core team survives and provides the structure to sustain.
Realistically in the world of the venture bros. you could just frick around and find the various versions of off brand pop culture characters and try and use similar methods to gain powers or steal them.
he didn't have any problem with his belief, his recruits were all suicidal and always had new recruits coming in. hatred blew up his shit and he had to start over
There's a suicidal mentality with henchers iin the VB universe that if you go out to the best OSI agents, there's no shame in it. Dying due to the Brock Ness Monster ripping you out a new windpipe is one of the highest honors a hench could have in death.
Now that you mention it, being a hench IS free boarding + food.
I guess I'd just try finding some low level schmuck to mooch off of if not the Monarch
I'd want to be one of the randos in dean's school. at the very least it seems like New York is the one place where you're not likely to die to some butthole in a crown with a cannon of melting gas at any given moment
I'd want to bebin the order of the triad
This, or Dr. Killinger. Maybe he could help me sort my life out.
Noooooooo
Frick no, I'm just one person, I wouldn't be voiced by Doc or Jackson therefore I'd frickin die. I would love to frick some of the chicks in the VB universe though.
Frick no. You're safer from him than some of the other villains due to his usage on tranq darts, even though he shoots his own men with them constantly, but being sent against the Venture compound is a death warrant. Maybe post-S7, but definitely not anything prior to S6.
>where would you ideally be
Henching would still be pretty good, but it depends on the criteria. There's not a lot of villains that are shown or mentioned to have henchmen. Out of all of the ones that have, Hatred seems to be the best pick and Truckules seems the more fun.
>where would you realistically be
Henching for the Monarch
>Truckules
They're probably like a combination Greek Hoplites and like get to drive around on dirtbikes and dune buggies and shit. Plus he's just a giant nice dude.
Honestly I'm still not over how Monarch called him a douche, the frick did he do?
Wasn't Truckules kidnapped by Zero though? Is he someone's second in command or something?
Nah, Truckules had DMTM as his number two for a while, and he shows up as an arching candidate for the Triad. I guess they never confirmed if he had henchmen beyond having a partner, but he definitely wasn't below someone else at at least one point in time
It's always seemed weird to me, because the Monarch made it seem like having a ton of henchmen was part and parcel with a high EMA level but the only Level 10 we see with a bunch of henchmen is Wide Whale.
Yeah it's weird. Phantom Limb might point at it just being a thing you don't see, since he seemed like a solo act but was actually just replacing his shadowmen with guild resources, but then Monarch goes out of the way to imply that a solo/duo act couldn't reach 10, even though Harangueatan was seemingly a 10 (rather than being lower level and needing the family plan) and later becoming a Level 10 Duo himself. Might just be because he's himself and doesn't really give a shit about professional arching, so he'd make mistakes, but they also really sold it as proper exposition, especially to know the Action Man story.
I figured he was more referencing his own specific situation rather than it being an absolute rule. Like he was depressed about his drop in level, so he was fixating on everything he had lost which led to that drop. Comparing what he used to be to what he is now.
Harangueatan was likely super human though. Dude took a punch square in the face from Hatred who is a super soldier, granted an over-the-hill super soldier, and just shrugged it off like nothing before hospitalising the dude.
Your level is probably more influenced by how well you play the guild bureaucracy game than your actual ability anyway. Like if it's purely a measure of your threat level, why would participating in the mentorship program give you a boost.
The Venture Bros. Universe is a horrible one to exist in, hench or not. No thanks.
I’m a biologist so maybe I’d end up like Dr. Dugong
I would absolutely hench for the Monarch, I want laundry duty so I can sniff Dr. Mrs. The Monarchs underwear.
The only way I'd be involved in the game is if I were a tech guy working for one of the more mundane and legitimate wings of either a super scientist or a "legitimate businessman."
i'd want to be there for phantom limb after dr girlfriend crushed his heart
No. Too many of his unnamed men die.
I'd see about creating a superscience accident to gain powers and start my own team of heroes.
Id probably get dropped by Sampson on my first day so no thanks.
I think if I were in the VB universe I'd try my best to become a super scientist. If frickup Rusty can do it I'm sure i can pull something miraculous out of my ass.
>If frickup Rusty can do it I'm sure i can pull something miraculous out of my ass.
you're fricked if youre not a trust fund kid with a fat inheritance.
best case scenario you end up like phantom limb where your (academic) career brings you the circumstances of getting superpowers and then making it to the top through solid villainy
>you're fricked if youre not a trust fund kid with a fat inheritance.
What about Billy and White?
They were able to have some fun adventures down there and occaisonally get paid even if White kept blowing it on the stupidest shit.
Why would I do anything, ANYTHING on this earth that might put me in the line of fire of Brock Sampson? I don't even want to be in the same state as Brock Sampson.
>Would you hench for the monarch
Not until season 4, when Henchman 21 starts making reforms and Brock is busy working for SPHINX
