Indeed I would
No. The books are classics. I read them 4 times as a child. The movies are good but I've never wanted to watch them again after seeing them in theater.
Movie is almost 30 years old.
How is 7 years almost
When you wake up tomorrow and it's 2028.
yeah and it mogs the 2nd and 3rd movie. they were already becoming r*ddit capeshit by the end
can barely make it thought return of the king anymore
theyre not as good as fellowship but still very good
theatrical or extended?
I'd say it's an American/popcorn adaptation of a timeless classic
you mean New Zealand adaptation
It's a sneedless chucklic
Yeah. Definitely. It’s pathetic seeing dunelets act like the dune remake films are as good as the lotr trilogy. Get real!
It's one A+ setting after another. Shire, Bree, Rivendell, and Moria are all perfection (and we get glimpses of Mordor and Isengard). It's amazing that it functions as a story given the insane amount of exposition and backstory required as well as a major shift halfway through with a new quest and a reshuffled cast.
I like individual parts of the subsequent movies but they just don't have the same magic.
The Extended Edition of The Fellowship of the Ring is one of the few films I genuinely consider a flawless 10/10. It is also the greatest fantasy film ever made.
I may personally prefer ROTK due to the emotional highs and climaxes it offers and TTT for the legendary Helm's Deep battle, but FOTR is just perfect on pretty much every level. I'm pretty sure the LOTR Trilogy will remain my favorite films (collectively) for the rest of my life.
The only thing that should be updated for new formats is the CGI. Otherwise, it should never be remade.
>tfw when LOTR will eventually look like dated crap
It's already happening. Like you said, a lot of the CGI looks like dogshit today, especially in ROTK. I rewatched it recently and was astounded at how bad most of it looked
First has few. And Balrog is still fine.
a lot of it looked bad at the time, the third movie especially suffered terribly for adding more and more sfx shots to grind out in limited time, they talk abotu it in the making of docs, there was a real risk of it not making it's deadline and having to push back the release date.
True enough, most of the bad shots are from the extended edition so I feel like they weren't supposed to be seen anyway
cheap lord of the bling knockoff
I hate movie Frodo & Aragon.
I like TT and RotK but I truly love Fellowship, it's the only one I can never see myself getting tired of rewatching.
It's good until they reach Rivendell, then it starts over staying its welcome and insisting upon itself.
It is almost perfect, the best movie ever made.
I might be the only moron who enjoyed The Two Towers the most
*sigh*
It's for gays and women... :/ What does that say about you if you enjoy it?
>BTFOS LOTR so thoroughly and completely it can never recover
>timeless
it's nearly 3 hours long, it's one of the most time filled movies.
Yes absolutely
What made 2 and 3 parts much worse? For me it's this fricking comic duo. Gimli became an imbecile and Legolas is just an overpowered prick.
>What made 2 and 3 parts much worse?
action focus CGI shit-fest, and not time spent on character development:
> comic relief character proves his dwarven autism involving geological formations
almost. the cgi is bad
Yeah it is a timeless classic
No Tom No Watch. Frick hackson for cutting entire story arcs
