Found footage was moronic but you can forgive them for it on account of the time period. Way too heavy handed with the alchemy feel good bullshit. Shame because it’s a decent idea for a horror movie. 5/10 as is, not terrible but definitely not better than the descent.

Great movie. I don't think I like Dog Soldiers though. (never got to the end without falling asleep) Marshall is a one-hit wonder and a gay for not seeing the potential of a Descent sequel. My favorite part of Journey to the Center of the Earth is when they follow clues from prior generations of cavers to find their way down. The Descent had one tiny little callback to that, the sequel could've had much much more.
