We are getting way closer to a proper AI girlfriend than I would have believed a few years ago. I figured sex bots would be a thing first. That is probably a somewhat good thing in a way with how lonely and affection starved people are these days but it is a bit unsettling in a Blade Runner 2049 kind of way.
I'd rather watch with the real actual friend I have.

With Ai it's not about benefiting society. This shit only advanced as far as it has through peak capitalism and the ever so increasing lonely population under the guise of being just a "tool".
Growing up my school had programs to help high schoolers get thier service hours to graduate (tutor kids, clean beaches, etc.) There was one program that let you visit hospital patients or elderly care centers and literaly just hangout, watch movies or play cards for a weekly amount of hours. It was fricking great and society in general should do more ethical things like that for the loney. This shit isn't helping people it's just isolating people and calling it a tool. Generated art is passed as a "reference tool" and it does have potential to be that, but in our captilistic society people mostly use it as a glorified means to make full art. Shits only good on paper it was built to do good but only incurages economic corrosion and ethical bankruptcy.
