In October 1957, during the Cold War, an object from space crashes in the ocean just off the coast of Maine and then enters the forest near the town of Rockwell.
It's been 20 years since the original film, Whitey and Elanor have been dead for over a decade, Davey married Jennifer and had a baby with her (named after Whitey), Ben is now in his 30s and visits home for Channukah but is greeted by the terrible news of his parents' dissappearance, they've been kidnapped by the son of the guy who lost to Davey in court 20 years ago, he sets up a ransom he must pay in eight nights or else they die. Ben must join forces with his half-brother to find a way to save his parents before eight crazy nights pass. The deers also make a cameo appearance to set up for their own spin-off film.
