I remember a four person panel of Daily Wire guys answering questions like a survey and all of them said they don't know how to do laundry.
I assumed that was a manchild problem, but I when talking to my boss's ex-wife that still works at the company complain how he never knew how to do laundry, pick out clothes for himself or any home making skills because his mother took care of it well into adulthood as a college student and business owner until those roles transitioned into his new spouse. It's strange to think how the wife was ever okay with that and expected the relationship to work. Conservative upbringings are weird.
Often times they're groomed into those expectations, both men and women. Generally yardwork is for men and housework is for women, but housework is daily while yard is a weekend thing you can get the kids to do. Also the women can garden. The result is that men can't use household appliances and women can't use lawnmowers.
I never did one house chore myself until I was 18 because my mom and the maid always did them, but once my mom died and the maid was sick, I did a total mess on my first time doing laundry, who could tell different colors don't do together?
