I kinda assumed they were around the same age, since Sid's just a bit of a shit kid in general.

Andy seems like the kind of homosexual who would start pissing and crying if someone other than him touches his toys. He probably had some gay falling out with Sid and decided "h-h-hes not my friend anymore!!!!"
If I were a kid I'd have much rather hung out with Sid. Dude made cool toy hybrids and blew shit up, a much better hang than queerboy Andy and his bedroom kitted out with merchandise of a fricking drawstring cowboy.

Jealousy pure and simple. Animators are limpwristed sissies that spend all day doodling for pennies while trashmen spend all day tossing bags in giant crushers for more money than they can store.

I honestly find it funnier that the only identifier that it's Sid is that he either keeps wearing the same shirt he owned since he was a child or he kept getting bigger and bigger sizes of the same shirt as years went by. All because it's literally the only visual identifier of him as a character.

Prestige is what you make of it. People with labor jobs don’t define themselves by their 9-5, it’s just ends meat. They can have other hobbies and talents they work hard on, great social lives and relationships that color their identities far more than the jumpsuit they put away at the end of the day.

Anti-blue collar propaganda pushed entire generations into breaking their backs for educations that have become worth less than the tuitions they pay. Diplomas used to be the magic ticket for high paying jobs and a better life, but when everyone has one it’s impossible for some people not to wind up working menial jobs anyway because somebody fricking has to. You’ve got people with four year degrees “flipping burgers” shoulder to shoulder with people with base high school educations and neither one can be distinguished from the other intellect wise.

the thing is most college kids have no actual reason to go other than its what you do according to society. very rarely you get the people who actually have plans or goals after they graduate that isn't just "get a good job and CONSOOOOM" but most of them are older, like mid 20s and up

I like to think that Sid now saves toys that have been thrown out and toys all over town know him as the kind, toy rescuing garbage man. As a way to make up for what he did to his own toys as a kid but also because in his mind he’s saving the town from a toy uprising by showing the toys that “not all of us are bad”. Maybe he also anonymously donates the toys he finds to Sunnyside.
