Writing

>Why can't capeshit writers write?!
Does this all boil down to the fact x writer makes your special super duper character look like a fool sometimes?
This is the problem of having dozens upon dozens of different people write the same characters dozens upon dozens of different ways.

How hard can it be to write characters with some having up to 50+ years of characterization to draw from?

But that would, like, require us to read the characters and their history which totally gets in the way of my unique vision.

"But I'm gonna put my own unique spin on the character and become a comic writing legend overnight!"
(Despite the fact that I hate these characters and everyone who is interested in them.)

I fricking hate how often this happens. Especially those arrogant fricking Black folk who decide that a character being C-List gives them carte blanche to just turn them into a fricking OC.

None of those things have ever been a problem in Judge Dredd or other foreign comics. The problem is the sjws that have infiltrated the publishers.

Actually arguments over Dredd's characterization have popped up numerous times, most notably between Wagner and Grant during the Chopper storylines and Ennis' run.

SJWs and their ilk (the evangelicons of yesteryear) are a cancer but just because someone writes a gay character in your capeshit doesn't mean the sky is falling

Way to show you don't read comics or know what the fans were complaining about, you fricking fraud

Hell, I saw people complain a LOT about Ennis', Morrison's and Millar's takes on Dredd

I don't understand what OP is complaining about in their picture except maybe Wally has fought multiple evil speedsters before. Like at least use the shitty time he stabbed Wally in I think Identity Crisis? where he was like "I can use my superbrain to predict where you're running and will put my sword there and you'll get stabbed"

American writers are shit in general. The whole reason the "British Invasion" happened is that there was suddenly a pool of writers who actually put in some effort, and it instantly made them royalty in American comics. And frankly, they're not even that good. Alan Moore can't stop himself from putting his fetishes in comics, but the fact that he's familiar with the basics of writing still makes him better than most Americans.

I can only guess at the reasons behind it, but most American writers are just pure shit. As in, random people from the street could probably match them. Random comics readers stand a good chance of actually being better than them. My guess would be that there's no real vetting process, and that people are hired on basis of nepotism. That's probably also why the industry is so susceptible to political corruption. People just hire who-ever they know, which means they're fishing from a small pond and selecting on other biases.

No it’s because there is zero consistency
