You pay nothing, you own nothing.
Simple as. Then again, you still don't own it if you only have it digitally.
I would rather pay nothing to own nothing than pay money to own nothing, but owning physical shit is really cool.
Every one of these woke movies it's the same story. Empty praise, no specifics, if you even attempt to be specific you just recount one line or post a screenshot from one scene. I doubt if you people have actually even seen it.
decent entertainment value. cool visuals. margot and gostling are charismatic and likeable
,also >implying there are non-woke hollywood movies >implying hollwood hasn't been all about propaganda since the beginnig
>decent entertainment value. >cool visuals.
Meaningless, subjective, non-specific and disputed by anyone who disagrees with you. Name some specific story beats that you enjoyed. This tripe was a musical and even the people who claim they loved it never name a single fucking song.
Face it, you're just an empty-headed political shill who's motivation is always either pushing your political ideals or trying to piss people off. Yours is a hollow and sad life.
but i hate musicals. those scenes were cringe
also liking a movie because of the plot is a lowbrow take. read a book instead
i like visuals in my movies, what can i say?. baraka, koyaanisquatsi, or man with a movie camera are good examples
koyaa was pretty common on Cinemaphile, at least a few years ago. baraka is fucking new, everybody knows it. the movie camera one, i'm pretty sure they show it to highschoolers
but i'm happy to help you get out of your comfort zone. can (You) recomend me some kino so you don't feel excluded?

something like man with a movie camera is primarily watched for educational purposes, claiming that it's one of your favourite movies is pseud tier outright unless you can back up why you like it beyond "it has interesting camera angles/shots"... like no shit, that's exactly why it's viewed as an education piece often. You are just regurgitating surface level info from other people who are actually smart, instead of engaging with something yourself... I imagine out of a fear of not sounding smart enough? Ironically, deducing "these camera angles are really diverse or unique" doesn't mandate that much intelligence. I could, for example, point out correlations between man with a movie camera and harakiri which came some 30 years later... see that discussion (provided both parties knew wtf they were talking about) would be engaging and beyond something that a pseud could talk about.
Anyway, I'm not actually here to discuss tastes with you or history or anything for that matter because you've proudly engaged with the other anon already in such a disingenuous way that its' clearly not worth talking to you too much. Your entire opinion is "I like pretty pictures on screen duuuude" and then thinking you sound smart saying something so dumb and simple supported by what you consider high quality namedrops. Then you got called out on exactly that and changed course to subtly trying to flex that you're "akchuallyyy and oldfag"... whatever.
Pathetic showing all up. Glad I called you out.

didn't read all that, but yeah i like cool photography. that's what a visual media should be should be about, and that's the best you can expect from hollywood trash. i tell you another of my favorites that i hope will offend you less: snyder's superman, the spiderman one with the magician guy, aliens 2, and everything from ghibli

i like SOME hollywood trash, and i like legit good movies, and i hate some pretentious garbarge that critcs seem to love
since this is supposed to be the film board i expect people to know some basic titles that i've seen discussed here many times before
seriously doubt anyone that loves cinema can say they hate every commercial movie ever made. despite the obvious flaws there can always be something to enjoy
in summary, margot is cute and i had a good time watching this particular cool looking hollywood trash
>Name some specific story beats that you enjoyed.
I liked how the fight between the kens ended with a musical number that implicitly resolved the conflict in a way that should have been unsatisfying to the viewer, but Noah and Greta were able to maintain the sense that everything in barbieland is toy logic so it felt fine.
what subtexts? it's a fucking COMEDY
when criticizing hollywood trash you should always assume that everything is propaganda, and get over it. or you could just say that you hate commercial movies as a whole
and i said everything hollywood makes is propaganda. you'd be surprised how effective it actually is: zoomies and npcs in general get all their opinions from there
the irony is that liberals hated it because it tried to be subtle and analyse the issues instead of parroting some childish agenda, while normal people hated it because it was clearly feminist propaganda
i downloaded the yify, will put it on after i make dinner. not expecting much, but god damn do i love the exaggerated 80s/90s aesthetics. reminds me of the rollerblading scene in the power rangers movie. that shit was lit for the mid-90s. cute tummies everywhere
Based Venti bimbo was right
If you fretardo ags can tear yourself away from the Psy-Op culture wars, and critically view this propaganda, using your based skill set, their might be a dialogue worth having
>not for kids
sexuals jokes, feminist speechs, abstract plot impossible to follow >not for adults
musical, childish (women) slapstick, possible nostalgia for so y feminists who had barbies >pacing all over the place >didn't giggle a single time >fantasy have no rules, don't take itself seriously enough for you to care >no character arcs, ending is a 'vagina joke'
a woman probably wrote this movie
maybe there is something to enjoy for a cat lady because there's some male humiliation and power women fantasy somewhere but I don't see it
the actually 'girly' and pinkish childish cartoons and little girls / women movies like minions, some disneys and pixars or soap opera are just that, they don't need neo feminist speechs and to remind you about how women like them every 5mn
made me feel extremely uncomfortable and bored to death at the same time
skipped bits of second half and I never do that
also robbie and gosling are both full of wrinkles and the blond die and silly outfits make them look even older and unsexy
barbie world is uninteresting and feel like a music clip background just filling the space while being attention catching but you don't think about it
the cast is way to diverse being filled with fat, latinos and black women being president and shit for barbie land to not look even vaguely magical
overall 3/10, woke ip-slpoitation ruining another 'franchise'
imagine how good this would have been if made in the 90s and feel sorry for yourself
how come in the 90s they could make a good macdonald movie about some cheeseburger's adventures but today they can't even make 2h of family friendly content... sad
take something like k9 for example, they were able to hold for 2h and even several sequels with a movie that had a theme : a man meet a dog and they do shit together
Mac and Me was a piece of shit, though.
Everyone back then hated it. Its only value was that dance scene (which was only ironically funny thanks to AGGA).
Only funny part was the fascism joke and Michael Cera. But it surprisingly covered many different things without being convoluted so hats off to Greta for a good script but I don't see this having any staying power in film. It's only for millennial women.
i agree that it's a forgettable popcorn flick
weird thing is that some people love it or hate it when it's actually bland fun, like the mario movie or something.
you should buy it on DVD and Blu-ray
nah, i didn't like it THAT much.
as a matter of fact i haven't paid for any media in like a decade
maybe sign up for a streaming service or two? you're at least buying movie tickets, right? maybe some merch?
doing some shilling for free on Cinemaphile counts?
it’s *count.
not knowing how to write english should be a permaban.
okay, now answer, does it counts?

rollerblade runner
why is he so dreamy, guys?
he's just like me

I liked ken when discovered the patriarchy because it came across as some little dark age chudcore.
it was boring and vapid as fuck. any subtexts just miss the mark, like its not even a good propganda film
what subtexts? it's a fucking COMEDY
when criticizing hollywood trash you should always assume that everything is propaganda, and get over it. or you could just say that you hate commercial movies as a whole
i said it was propaganda, but it wasnt good at it
and i said everything hollywood makes is propaganda. you'd be surprised how effective it actually is: zoomies and npcs in general get all their opinions from there
it was feminist without being man hating
simple as
>without being man hating
Jesus christ how buck broken are you
you’re being unreasonable
the irony is that liberals hated it because it tried to be subtle and analyse the issues instead of parroting some childish agenda, while normal people hated it because it was clearly feminist propaganda
It's a bad movie because any movie that revolves around the theme of feminism is bad
I don't make the laws
¥es i Ken

it's not as good as it could be. feels like a first draft
costumes are 10/10
yeah. my firs tthought when hearing "barbie enters normal world" was "fuck that". but im game to give it a shot

Gosling looked awful. Literally looked like fucking mike pence in some scenes. He got 20 years too late for the role
how come in the 90s they could make a good macdonald movie about some cheeseburger's adventures but today they can't even make 2h of family friendly content... sad

Painfully unfunny. Not even the ken bits the shills were hyping up here got more than one or two chuckles from me

would chicks dig if i dress exactly like ken for halloween?
i can't really skate, but mom says i'm quite handsome
>be me
>waiting patiently to watch
...and I will enjoy it.
Especially after calling that it would be the biggest movie this year.
it's less terrible than you'd expect
probably average for the biggest movies in the last years, but that's admitedly a low bar
