      I'm

Never saw this movie, but what if there's no arrests because there wasn't enough evidence to make anyone a suspect and they don't want to just go and start arresting random people for no discernible reason?

I'm assuming the crime hinted at is a murder. Some murderers that kill for the thrill of it like to taunt their victims families/friends and/or the police. After this shit, if I were Chief Willoughby I'd have Detectives Butterednuts and Grundlefart round up some unis and bring her in to be interrogated under suspicion that she might have done the killing.

So she was raped? did she immediately get a rape kit done and file a report with the police? Because if she didn't then none of that shit ever happened and she should be tossed into the loony bin for the rest of her natural life.

This is a really embarrassing post, but emblematic of Cinemaphile at large. Most of you drop into threads about movies you will never watch just to air your grievances with women. Most threads are created to serve this purpose.

her daughter was raped and murdered and nobody was arrested. she's a grieving mother and isn't supposed to be in the right, the entire movie is about misdirected blame

So there's no hero or villain. Sounds like postmodernist communist garbage.

Sounds like the blame lies on the rapist and the woman's parents for allowing her to grow up into an adult who believes the cops exist to help you or right wrongs. I ain't no feminist but I can't really see there being any really right thing to do in such a situation. Her lashing out by wasting what I assume based entirely on OP's photo is her entire life's savings, made from being a low quality mechanic, on some billboards meant to harass a government employee seems a bit silly. But then, government employees aren't people and just like politicians they should be harassed day and night by the people they're meant to represent/protect.

And they never figure out or tell the viewer who actually did it? That's some No Country for Old Men level cinematic blueballing right there. I actually saw No Country, though, and quite liked it.

            >Because the fun of it

Yes, the fun of trying to discuss a movie I've never seen. One that appears to be so depressingly pointless that even people who saw it don't really want to discuss it.

So there's no hero or villain. Sounds like postmodernist communist garbage.

The hero is anyone who sits through the whole thing! The villain is the mystery rapist!

If I remember right her daughter was raped but she killed herself.
Then it ended with pulling up to some random army guy's house cuz he was bragging in a pub about raping a girl while he was on tour

no she was raped, murdered, and set on fire. hence no rape kit, which would have made it easier to catch the killer.
