>You do know the 90's cartoon didn't follow the comic canon to a t,
Why doing it now then?
Cause it happened. They referenced it.
pulling retcons out of their asses for shock value is gay
I remember retcons happening in the old show too, why is suddenly an issue now?
Grooming Rogue and cucking Gambit is probably the most villainous thing he did in the show continuity.
They just randomly made him Slade Wilson
You know I've been putting some thought into this and the best answer I can come up with is Xavier made her forget just like she made her forget about Ms. Marvel's ghost.
There's a reason when they gave us that flashback showing Mystic training Rouge to master her powers for the purpose of taking out Ms. Marvel and having Rouge keep her powers. When she ran away after seeing butt ugly Carol ghost Xavier read her mind; so, they can easily add that he also saw the affair between her and his best friend and figured' he'd quietly make her forget those memories as well.
Is it a retcon, sure but an easy enough way to explain why Rouge acted like she never knew Magneto or their relationship. until he was stuck on Savage Land when the memories came back.
Does she have access to that technology? Seems the only way to get one of those is to be in contact with Trask or Gyrich.
Actually she might not even know they exist, she wasn't there for the rescue of Sunspot, and she was off looking to get that Operation done in the original series when Gambit and Storm were captured on Genosha.
It seems very strange that the X-men don't look into the tech. How many mutants have inconvenient or downright dangerous powers keeping them from living normal lives? Yeah wearing a collar like a dog kinda sucks, but it's better than complete isolation/termination. Reminds me of that one mutant kid in the comics that Wolverine had to kill after he had unknowingly disintegrated his family and everyone near him.
The only tech guy on the X-men (in the show at least) is Beast, and he's more of a Medical Doctor than a cybertronics guy. Forge is the one who made the stuff, so you need someone like him to make one. Maybe they'll go that route in the show later down the line.
Doesn't help their tech guy is always rebuilding the Blackbird or fixing Bishop's time watch or something. He can only manage so much.
It's "Reed can't properly cure Ben Grimm" tier moronic, don't think about it.
100%. Doesn't even need to be New Son, during Gambit's 98 solo comic when his powers were coming back, he could do a similar trick to Magneto and just have a thin kinetic field around his body. It was exhausting for him so it wasn't something he could do all day, and it felt a bit off when Rogue touched him, but it was there >t. Gambit enjoyer
Gambit's power is touch activated too. I think in the comics, there's a version of Gambit that's omega level. He can use his power to negate touch activated powers like Rouge's so he can touch her. Can't remember. He might have had Sinister do an operation on him.
You're not wrong, there's a rare Gambit called New Sun. His mutant gene was identified by the government and he was trained in the use of his powers from a young age, so he can control his omega level mutation. In most realities Gambit can't deal with his powers so he either nerfs them, dies or accidentally blows up the Earth.
Earth 616 Gambit ask Mr Sinister to help him, so he basically got a lobotomy. Funny thing, New Sun actually teaches Gambit how to control his full omega potential but he still prefers not to because it's way to much trouble.
>Be with clone Jean >Be happy, feel real feelings >Get a child even >Literally drop clone Jean the second real Jean appears >Real Jean drop Cyke for Logan the next second because Cyke is somehow guity
This shit doesnt compute for me or were both Cyke and Jen done dirty in this cartoon?
Both came off as huge pieces of shit that made no sense given the circumstances.
>Real Jean drop Cyke for Logan the next second because Cyke is somehow guity
She kissed Logan because for the past month Cyke has been avoiding her and Psi-fricking Madeline. She even states at the beginning of the Logan scene that Cy has been avoiding her but she assumes it's just because he was grieving over his son lmao.
If you take a step back and look at their situations I think both their actions were both shitty but also justified.
Real Jean with her fragmented mental state feels like less of a person he can connect to than the one he was married to for at least a year. Scott should have left with Maddie when he had the chance.
He still 'could' leave. If he decided to break it off with Jean and stick with Maddie I don't even think Jean would be scornful given she has a closer bond with Logan at the present moment. Nobody brings it up, but while Jean wasn't totally in the right during their spat, she also wasn't full of shit when she commented on Cy looking for a chair with the music changing.
Yeah, I had a huge "what the frick" moment when Scott's wife and mother of his child he was very happy with just walked away so he could be with the "real" girl. That's not how relationships work. What the frick did Jean think was going to happen, that he would never think about her or want to talk to her?
> What the frick did Jean think was going to happen, that he would never think about her or want to talk to her?
Jean offered Madeline to stay. It doesn't seem like Jean was mad Cy was still talking to Madeline. She's mad because he's been avoiding her to frick Madeline on the down low through their special psychic rapport.
>Jean offered Madeline to stay
Could Cyclops have pulled off the polygamy ending if she did? Jean and Maddie are practically the same individual after merging memories.
Yeah, I had a huge "what the frick" moment when Scott's wife and mother of his child he was very happy with just walked away so he could be with the "real" girl. That's not how relationships work. What the frick did Jean think was going to happen, that he would never think about her or want to talk to her?
Fun fact the comics equivalent of this mess and the bullshit surrounding it are the direct fricking origin point for the complete destruction of the industry because the Resurrection of Jean Grey and all the bullshit with X-Factor and the lead in to Inferno basically gave the inspiration for event culture, started the speculator boom, and was where stakes and continuity and so on just stopped fricking being a thing.
Welcome back to the late 80's kids we're going for a fricking ride and this coaster is all downhill from here.
X-Factor was a good idea and I'm tired of y'all pretending it wasn't. If Claremont didn't want this to happen, he shouldn't have made the whole Dark Phoenix storyline like he did to begin with.
>This shit doesnt compute for me or were both Cyke and Jen done dirty in this cartoon? >Both came off as huge pieces of shit that made no sense given the circumstances.
The original story in the comics made Cyclops out to be a way way bigger piece of shit. That plus the mentally cheating on Jean with Emma are his two biggest scumbag moments and the cartoon is redoing them in a more positive way for him.
Jubilee was recast for political reasons, not because the old actress couldn't do the voice anymore. In fact, she voiced old Jubilee in the Mojo episode.
We should not jump to conclusions yet. This could be a trick to troll us. Remember, Hulk also made a cameo in the X-Men's series back in the day, but it was just a simulation in the Danger Room.
Besides, there's one big question t be answered. The 90s series of both Spider-Man and the X-Men happen in the same reality, and in Spider-Man's series, Captain America was trapped again in the matter-antimatter vortex with Red Skull. They were freed by the Beyonder for the Secret War, but he said they would be returned to where they were at the end of the Secret War.
So the question here is... How did Captain America escape from the vortex this time?
>How did Captain America escape from the vortex this time?
Two options, time dilation accelerator or Captain America is induced through telepathic bullshit onto Wolverine.
After having to deal with all of that Secret Wars nonsense, it would be a b***h to return him to the vortex. Cap ran around in Fantastic Four episodes as an Avenger, and that show had its X-Men connections, too. I like to think he's somewhere around, getting voices by David Hayter.
That’s unclear. It may be in the same continuity as Fox Kids Spider-Man and he name-dropped the Avengers in the pilot, although later episodes never mentioned them despite Iron Man and Captain America guest-starring.

>So did we fast forward to E is for Extinction?
I was kinda pleasantly surprised they went for that holy shit moment from Morrison's run. The Genocide of Genosha is a hell of a thing to put into the series.
Nah. Didn’t see her corpse. She probably diamonds up like she does in the comics. My guess is that she gets used as a foil for Jean. Rightclops gets paired with Emma and in season 2 he comes to his senses and goes back to Jean. Hating a character doesn’t mean being incapable to write them, it just means framing them more as a villain, which is fine in the Emma context.
Nah, Rogue was already legal when they fricked, and it's less age difference than Logan/Jean.
I still find funny how loyal Remy Is when he was set as this unfaithfull ladiesman, I supposed you can at least count that he was going for other women while never getting a divorce from Bella Dona.
considering how stupid this show has become over the course of it, I'm going to predict that it turns into some sort of super-cancer fetus that begins to kill her.
Irrelevant. Had an argument with an anon here about how they weren't going to drop the tedious triangle bullshit even after all these years and got argued to hell and back. Said give it 5 episodes and it'll be back. Knew I was right. Vindicated.
No. I'm gonna blame the people who made this cartoon, who had more than enough source material to work from without needing to take it here. Gonna blame them all fricking day.
So, will they ever address that he is an enby or will be like Steven Universe where Rebecca Sugar claims the gems are non-binary but that is never mentioned in the cartoon?
I never said I wanted. I was just expecting the showrunners to be consistent with their pozzed ideological crap
Seems like they care more about making a good X-Men show then to tell the audience about their binary rep. The most we've seen is Scott calling Morph "they" and the end credits that shows X-Men data. I would stop bringing it up unless you want it to be a Self-fulfilling prophecy and they won't shut up about it in show.
The dude can be a chick whenever he wants and she can go back to being male. It's a sci-fi setting where people shoot laser looking punches from the punch dimension. Someone not being just male or female isn't that big a deal. Who gives a shit about marketing bullshit?
All the discussions about this week's episode have been about love triangle shit between Jean and Logan, or Rogue/Magneto/Gambit. (Which has resolved itself.)
Nobody's talking about the REAL injustice of this episode, though: we see a mutant vendor on the streets of Genosha who just waves his hand and creates ice cream out of thin air, completely erasing Soft Serve. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE FOR SOFT SERVE?
If the man cheats on the woman, the man is a scumbag and the woman is a victim.
If the woman cheats on the man then the man is empowered and the man is a cuck.
We needed another thread for this. Frick off cartoon gays.
>Frick off cartoon gays.
Do you know where you are?
Jean is shit
you guys told me that cyclops wasn't a cuck in the animated universe, what happened? he was supposed to be chad
TBF, he was off fricking his side chick (main chick) for the past month. I'd say he broke even.
dude, he's been having mindsex with Madelyn for a month
He's cucking Jean with her clone so it's alright. And unlike a kiss, he had canon sex with the clone and impregnated her.
They are doing the Morrison run but with Madelyn in Emma’s place.
Much lamer. Emma's great
Scott Summers? More like S'cucked Summers lmao
>Rouge and Magneto
>gambit fricking dies
>Storm isn't even AROUND
>Jean
>Just Jean
And this is why I don't watch cartoons until they've finished
Pal of mine kept gushing all over the show, every time an episode dropped. For SOME reason I didn't get hyped enough to check it out...
You do know that like, Rogue and Magneto hook up in the comics for a while, right?
Which was never brougth up in the OG series.
Cause they brought it up now? You do know the 90's cartoon didn't follow the comic canon to a t, right?
>You do know the 90's cartoon didn't follow the comic canon to a t,
Why doing it now then?
Cause it happened. They referenced it.
pulling retcons out of their asses for shock value is gay
I remember retcons happening in the old show too, why is suddenly an issue now?
I don't care if it also happens in the comics. I simply do not like it, especially with Remy getting hurt.
Gambit came out looking the best out the three here, he was willing to move on and didn't get dragged into the drama.
all the more reason for me to sympathize with him more
You know I've been putting some thought into this and the best answer I can come up with is Xavier made her forget just like she made her forget about Ms. Marvel's ghost.

I'll buy it
It would've been nice if the writers had done the work to explain this themselves, rather than force this retcon and let the fans make sense of it.
>Gambit dies
what the frick?
Crazy, since he's one of the few character that never "dies" in the comics.
What could've been
Trust in Apocalypse
If he brings my boy back I'm okay with anything.
I didn't even consider this. Hell yeah give me Deathbit.
Well no actually. This actually never could have been because Remmy can't touch her...
Can't she just wear an anti-mutie collar while they frick? A bit degrading, but one could also argue kinda hot.

Also yeah, probably this.
And there was the one in the "Muties" series that caused random explosions.
Power suppressing collars are kind of shitty to have on 24/7
Could New Son touch her?
100%. Doesn't even need to be New Son, during Gambit's 98 solo comic when his powers were coming back, he could do a similar trick to Magneto and just have a thin kinetic field around his body. I think Gambit’s omega level powers haven’t been referenced outside his solo book from the very late 90s/early 2000s.
Which is kind of a waste.
Sauce, sugar?
🙁
I don't get it, is it cuz she's taller than him?
>Cyclops got cucked

My man hates Ace of Base
Cable's a NuMetal guy
maddie got instavaporized in the genocide . they killed her off in such an insulting way
Touch grass
Why didn't they recast Rogue like israelitebilee? She sounds horrible.
Jubilee was recast for political reasons, not because the old actress couldn't do the voice anymore. In fact, she voiced old Jubilee in the Mojo episode.
My boy Gumbo died the way he lived, going out with a bang. Just, probably not the one he wanted. ;_;
He bangs everything, except the girl he loves. There's a fate worse than death
Massive W for LoganCHADs
I still laugh at that gif every time i see it
Wolverine would never, Stay mad, manletgays
Wolverine likes them younger
Psylocke too?
Psylocke was arguably the horniest for Cyclops but it was brief
whatever helps you cope
>Namor and Aunt May
Is there something I need to know?
To be fair, Wolverine is like triple the age of the others. Also kek at that Hawkeye pic.
Why do psychics fiend for this man
Always wondered about that. I think I read somewhere that he had low-grade psi potential, though nothing spectacular. And he has a "type", I guess.
Scott is relentlessly handsome
>Why do psychics fiend for this man
His brain waves are super hot. Just ask the professor.
You know how Wolverine has tortured tough guy I can fix him energy? Cylops has that on the inside, so psychics get the best of both worlds.
Is this show nothing but weird dysfunctional relationships?
>episode 5
fellas, was it KINO?
>rejected by Cyclops and Logan
harsh
So did we fast forward to E is for Extinction?
I mean, the finale is setting AvX.
how do you know?
Seriously? The can't just skip the 2000's just like that. So much happened.
We should not jump to conclusions yet. This could be a trick to troll us. Remember, Hulk also made a cameo in the X-Men's series back in the day, but it was just a simulation in the Danger Room.

So the question here is... How did Captain America escape from the vortex this time?
MOTHERFRICKER! Is this Captain Falcon I'm gonna be so fricking pissed
Take it easy. If they are going to respect the eras of these series, than Cap Falcon is not an option.
I have to say, however, the last episode with the attack on Genosha of Wild Sentinels and stuff... Wasn't this what Cassandra Nova did?
>I have to say, however, the last episode with the attack on Genosha of Wild Sentinels and stuff... Wasn't this what Cassandra Nova did?
Pretty much exactly, but on a bigger scale.
Can’t really do the 2000s without Decimation.
>AvX
Noooooo that was complete shit! Although it would be easy to just redo it as X-Men vs. the Avengers with some non-moronic motivation for the conflict.
>Noooooo that was complete shit!
So was the morrison arc they adapted, what's your point?
Morrison run was only 50% shit and most of that came at the end. The Xorn reveal was great, the following Magneto arc was abysmal.
It was shit from the litteral start.
>AvX
Who's gonna cuck Cyke this time if Emma is dead?
>AvX
Against who? The Avengers don't exist
That’s unclear. It may be in the same continuity as Fox Kids Spider-Man and he name-dropped the Avengers in the pilot, although later episodes never mentioned them despite Iron Man and Captain America guest-starring.
With Captain America still trapped in the Vortex (apparently), I doubt the Avengers were actually founded here.
Cap wasn't a founding member, he was just the leader they needed.
What if it's X-Men vs THESE Avengers?
where these ever implied to take place in the same universe as the 90's x-men show like the spider man one?
Have you not seen the ep?
Wild Sentinel on Genosha, Logan aand Jean, and Scott mind-fricking another psychic (not emma this time)
>So did we fast forward to E is for Extinction?
I was kinda pleasantly surprised they went for that holy shit moment from Morrison's run. The Genocide of Genosha is a hell of a thing to put into the series.
>Logan won in the movies
>Logan is gonna win in the game
>Logan is gonna win in the cartoon
What's next for Cyke?
>Logan won in the movies
He didn't though. She rejected him for Scott every time.
Good, Emma was and still is the best girl for Scott, frick you Jeangays
Sucks that the show runner hates Emma, and he will probably kill her off.
Nah. Didn’t see her corpse. She probably diamonds up like she does in the comics. My guess is that she gets used as a foil for Jean. What a shame, hope we get emmagay writers for season 2
No wonder the guy is gay
kys, shill, no one cares about this cuck propaganda
Magneto getting that 20 something pussy good for him
Based Mags getting young puss
Grooming Rogue and cucking Gambit is probably the most villainous thing he did in the show continuity.
They just randomly made him Slade Wilson
Nah, Rogue was already legal when they fricked, and it's less age difference than Logan/Jean.
I still find funny how loyal Remy Is when he was set as this unfaithfull ladiesman, I supposed you can at least count that he was going for other women while never getting a divorce from Bella Dona.
he's gonna put a baby in the real jean in the next episode.
Gimme Rachel
considering how stupid this show has become over the course of it, I'm going to predict that it turns into some sort of super-cancer fetus that begins to kill her.
Fricking called it. Knew they couldn't keep their hands off this fricking triangle has to be forced.
Anon, this is basically pulled out of New X-Men 117. Blame Morrison.
To be fair, he could blame anyone with enough shit taste to even touch morrison's run.
What's the matter, Claremontgay? Not enough underage alien pregnancies?
>Where my lesbians at?
It's time to admit that Logan WON
He won Morph's ass
The writers will never make him gay. He's too big for Marvel
Is it gay if Morph turns into Jean when they frick?
Only if Morph says no homosexual when putting their ass up
yes
Morph would have to put on a lot of perfume otherwise he would smell him a mile away.
cykebros...
Is this where we get the exclamation "Cyke!" from?
but i want wolverine to end up with storm
Say cyke right now
Objectively better pairing.
My queen
My goddess
My muse
I hope you're not jacking off with your metal hand with that post, Forge.
So, will they ever address that he is an enby or will be like Steven Universe where Rebecca Sugar claims the gems are non-binary but that is never mentioned in the cartoon?
You really want Morph to explain their pronouns?
I never said I wanted. I was just expecting the showrunners to be consistent with their pozzed ideological crap
It's already in his profile in the credits you dork
so you're buck broken now
got it
Seems like they care more about making a good X-Men show then to tell the audience about their binary rep.
Who gives a shit about marketing bullshit?
because people that use the term "non-binary" want to normalize a mental illness
No, he was physically born as a genderless blob, he's closer to people who have real XXY mutations.
>XXY mutations.
To me my XXY-Men?
I guess
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klinefelter_syndrome
Guessing soon they'll hop on the "Beast is now a piece of shit" train soon, as well.
Really? Didn't seem to be the case looking at the interview scene where he was the most composed and reasonable there.
I hope they avoid that part in the comic's, animated Beast has been the best version of he's been in a long time.
I don't think so, never really watched it but it could be like Spider Man Unlimited and unrelated like 90's Spider man.
Why do I have a feeling that they are going to frick over Cyclops after the Not! krakoa genocide?
Who is the best love interest for Logan anyway?
Morph
All the discussions about this week's episode have been about love triangle shit between Jean and Logan, or Rogue/Magneto/Gambit. (Which has resolved itself.)
Nobody's talking about the REAL injustice of this episode, though: we see a mutant vendor on the streets of Genosha who just waves his hand and creates ice cream out of thin air, completely erasing Soft Serve. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE FOR SOFT SERVE?
But that gay homie serving ice cream was Iceman
disregard that for a second, i want this to come back.
Oh yes yes yes yes.
>man cheats on woman
woah based
>woman cheats on man
WTF HES A KEK?
If the man cheats on the woman, the man is a scumbag and the woman is a victim.
If the woman cheats on the man then the man is empowered and the man is a cuck.
>the man in empowered
I see
