>X-Men '97 is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–97), and the plot will continue where the original series left off. X-Men '97.
>Several cast members return from the original series, including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, and Alyson Court.
>X-Men '97 is scheduled to premiere in early 2024 and will consist of ten episodes. A second season is in development.
What are your hopes, fears?
>Definitely getting Mohawk Storm and M-costume Magneto (Lego tie-ins have these).
>Will probably follow those storylines so expect Magneto being reformed and a depowered Storm.
I just hope they don't butcher the OP too much (or change it completely).
They have Larry Houston working on the OP again
hope: its great and paves the way for a Marvel animation renaissance, reviving other Marvel cartoons and creating new Marvel cartoons too of high quality.
fear: its bad and it gets forgotten as quickly and doesn't make any sort of positive ripple effect.
The only other shows that'd even be considered for revival are Spider-Man TAS, and Spectacular Spider-Man if they can play nice with Sony.
Everything else I can think of either finished and wrapped up nicely, or is so obscure nobody cares.
Avengers EMH hello
>Everything else I can think of either finished and wrapped up nicely
Ironically this fits the original X-Men cartoon.
shit was rushed asf
Earth's Mightiest Heroes. And funnily enough, X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men.
It's going to be the latter. The talent just isn't there anymore. It, somehow, not completely sucking leading to a Spider-Man TAS revival would be neat but I'm not holding out any hope.
>since sunspot is half black as a big part of his character
It's never been a big part of his character. Him being rich and kind of a self-absorbed dickhead is a big part of his character.
Wasnt he specifically picked on due to it by his rich brazillian buddies? I remember that being a factor.
Yeah that was his origin story. Not sure if it played a part in future stories.
It played a part as to why his dad was the way he is too.
I'm cautiously optimistic, but ready to drop it as soon as it goes bad.
>10 episodes
Streaming has been a disaster, I just want proper 22-24 episode seasons again
Huh? that isn't because of streaming, its because animation is expensive and takes times, same thing is happening with the anime industry
>Le animation is expensive excuse
That was never the norm for cartoons. They either had 13 episode seasons or big 52-65 episode orders if the intent was to run them every weekday.
That's an official promo image, not a leak.
least they could've done was give this 13 episodes
i started watching Outlaw Star for the first time recently, Aisha is so damn hilarious.
They ordered 20 episodes and decided to split it in two because that's the norm these days.
of course. heaven forbid we could just have a normal release schedule.
Nah, it's better. 10-13 is great. Less than 10 is the problem.
It will have have more then 10 episodes since a second season is in development.
getting Mohawk Storm and M-costume Magneto (Lego tie-ins have these).
We already know that thanks to the leaks, OP
Cringe
That Storm looks like shit
yeh
Kek. Jubilee barely looked oriental in the original. Here they're really giving her heavy slant eyes to remove any ambiguity.
I noticed that too, and I hate how they went so far in the opposite direction it borders on caricature.
True
>We already know that thanks to the leaks, OP
Yeah I know I was reminding people
Jubilee out here lookin chinee as a motherfricker. I wonder if her mutant power is having a sideways pussy
>What are your hopes, fears?
None.
slightly related the spider-man toon has been renamed isn't going to premiere till November which is ages since it was first revealed so I hope it at least has more then ten episodes
I'm sure it would be literal SHIT, but at least we'll get to hear Aisha ClanClan as Rogue one last time
Both had nice butts and white hair so they had that in common
Imagine the smell
Cute cat
Rogue ass
Doubt it, they kind of toned down the females
>Aisha is so damn hilarious.
Agreed, there's a reason as to why she's the most popular
A shame
Nice ass
>Will probably follow those storylines so expect Magneto being reformed and a depowered Storm.
So we're ripping off Age Of X?
It's not Age of X, it's mid-80s X-Men.
>A second season is in development.
One of the voice actors said they were already recording for season two
>tfw by January it'll have been 3 years since they began recording for '97.
Seems like the production pipelines for new cartoons are all fricked up across the board, shows used to be put together much faster.
for these ones they’re definitely worse off, but a lot of smaller productions like adult swim shows have pretty consistent schedules.
Pretty sure this is normal, writing and voice acting tends to done like two years in advance before the season actually airs. Animation production takes a long while.
The original X-Men was picked up in 1991 and it aired in October 1992 though it was admittedly a rush job done with a subpar studio and they felt it necessary to fix a bunch of errors in the pilot several years later.
And a good half of season 3 was delayed so hard the episodes aired as part of season 5. Including a plot heavy episode.
you forgot to say that it's 3D with cel shading and not 2D
Why do people hate cel shading? I feel cel shading CN’s work out pretty well if the artists follow though and make the effort of adding the cel outline onto the characters and make it noticeable and not lazy.
Source? Footage was shown at SDCC but I never heard said footage was 3DCG.
This would explain why they've been shy about showing off any footage.
no please please no tell me you're lying
Wouldn't surprise me. 2D animation is a dying art, and they style it after the old days because they know everyone'd be excited, then once they get bait-and-switch'd they'll be like "well 3D is cheaper and easier animators are people too" like the low standard cucks they are.
>then once they get bait-and-switch'd they'll be like "well 3D is cheaper and easier animators are people too" like the low standard cucks they are.
Not me. If this is CG I'm 100% out. It's not about having standards, it's simply I can't engage with CG animation. It looks fake and it looks bad. Even when it's expensive, which this won't be.
Maybe future AI tech will be advanced enough to make it resemble 2D. AI sucks shit but it'd be preferable to CG.
People who saw clips at SDCC have said this is bullshit.
I was sure it would be CG when I noticed they changed Bishop's hair.
It would be too hard to animate his original locks in CG.
Did the original show have Morlocks? Very annoying they’re skipping why Storm has the mohawk. Probably no Massacre either
They did the Callisto vs Storm fight in the very first season.
Some X-Men 97 figures. X-Cutioner and Madelyne Pryor are confirmed.
So, basically they're adapting "Inferno"?
Pryor was confirmed by a Funko Pop (of all fricking things) a while back. This shit's weird, we get merch for characters who haven't even been announced yet, no trailer, it's a weird way to promote a show.
Given the baby Nate accessory, absolutely.
It's because the show was delayed while the toys weren't.
In anything I've read with him Sunspot being black never came up. He's rich, he's an ass and he's apparently got a thing for evil bird women from space.
If the cel shaded 3D thing is true then they're basically holding off on it until as late as they can because they probably know that's going to kill a lot of interest since the entire point is appealing to nostalgiagays who aren't going to want to watch Iron Man: Armored Adventures visuals.
That design for Maddie looks awful
I liked the show but it is a product of its time.
Should we expect Wolverine to actually maim and kill this round?
Or is he still doomed to be a massive jobber?
I'm sure there'll be some gutter-trash robots to maim.
What we know so far
>3d with cell shading
>Magneto as the leader of the x-men being reformed
>Pregnant "Jean"
>Logan/Ororo and Jubilee/Sunspot as couples
>Morph, Sunspo t and Bishop added to the main cast
>Forge, Cable and Nightcrawler are in for sure
>Emma Frost (both as a villain and a teacher so maybe so iteration of the hellions), Shaw, Sinister and callisto as antagonists
>Sentinels still around
>Blink seems to make some sort of apperence
>Madeline pryor as the main villain with a little nathan, meaning she might be the "pregnant jean"
>X-cutioner as a villain
>pregnant jean
i do like cable, but kid cable would suck. his being sent to the future and askani's son stuff was really good
>jubilee/sunspot
cool
>bishop added to main cast
good
>forge nightcrawler cable
good
>bourgeois capitalist villains
good. maybe they'll explain how morlocks are basically lumpenproletariat
>blink appears
neat. maybe if there's age of apocalypse references we get some of those stories too
>madeline pryor / jean
already too much i hope they don't do it
Seems to be a baby
Seems a bit random to me tbh
Yeah on the added characters
The madeline thing is confirmed by two pieces of merch including a full on redesign for her that's less stripperific.
>The madeline thing is confirmed by two pieces of merch including a full on redesign for her that's less stripperific.
Why even use that character if you can't use that costume?
My main fear is that outside of too much time passing since the original, it won't feel nearly as authentic in adapting the comics. That is, it'll feel more like they're speed running the most popular storylines rather than making them fit naturally with the cartoon continuity.
Also the contrast between the returning cast and the newcomers making it harder to enjoy.
It seems like they arent really using the same "wholesale" approach to adapting the original show did, with more "original" stuff, which seems like a massive double edged sword.
hopes
-make beast wholesome again
-beast joins the avengers, crossover event happens and beast leads both teams in a joint operation
-bring in shard, bishop's sister
-multiple episodes devoted to story arcs for other x-teams
-introduce dr reyes
-cable and deadpool shenanigans
fears
-too much cyclops
-too much jean grey
-too much wolverine
>Wholesome beast
Seems confirmed
>Avengers
Unlikley tbh
>Shard
Doesnt seem like they're doing time travel stuff here
>Other x-teams
Unlikley beyond x-force
>Dr reyes
Maybe
>Cable and Deadpool
Deadpool being injected here seems super likely
From what it seems cyclops, jean and storm are the main ones alongside magneto.
>cyclops jean and storm
i'm so sick of cyclops jean and wolverine holy shit
Nothing particular on wolverine beyond him being paired with ororo to be fair. The scott/jean thing seems to be around madeline and nathan.
i think it would be hilarious if they keep wolverine in the background. like every time he's mentioned, it just cuts to him doing some atrocious violence or being absolutely destroyed and barely hanging on, and then later he's seen on a date with her
>madeline and nathan
they need to cut the shit with jean and cyclops. just have a story arc of cable in the future with askani's son stuff. i'm so sick of magic in a sci fi genre
Lmao. Would be funny. But he's probably just going to get the "cool moments" without much of an arc beyond being storm's BF or hanging out with morph once or twice.
This is the first time they're using madeline as main antagonist or at all in an adaptation and they seem to be pushing her so probably more magic-y stuff.
sinister feels like a self insert for writers or a means to push forth self inserts for cyclops because all they become as characters is breeding subjects with plot armor
Madeline is just the result of writer frickery, so its strange they're using her here, especially when the original show just implied cable was jean and scott's kid here.
i would not be thrilled about kid cable, and i would not be thrilled about magic kid cable. i have no confidence in the madeline talk
Just a baby it seems
You all know perfectly well that it is going to be more woke bullshit that will shit all over the original.
i'm prepared for that possibility and more than capable of b***hing about it later
but also you should know that the main writer left twitter because he was sick of idpol virtue signalling, which i see as a good sign that you might be wrong
Black people! Oh no!
>more woke bullshit
Likely, everything is this now.
>that will shit all over the original.
Not necessarily. The showrunner is an X-Men fan and he criticized the Witcher's showrunner and writing staff for having disdain for the material. If it sucks, it won't be because he hates and wants to subvert X-Men.
The woke thing seems to be the jubilee recast and putting bishop on the main cast. But then they got criticised for casting a white guy for sunspot.
Sunspot's VA is Hispanic, just light skinned.
Well yes, that's what people are complaining about, since sunspot is half black as a big part of his character. I don't care, just what the woke crowd has already complained about.
its so dumb, the voice is what matters more than the actors appearance.
Only until you "make it". Then you kick the ladder down. Ask Phil Lamarr.
I hate them so much.
>Victor Cook
Oh shit, this guy is a producer and director on a bunch animated cartoons. Not the kind of guy Lamarr should be picking fights with online.
you and i won't be able to do anything about it.
we know damn well this will go in the direction of:
>"you are okay with the x-men being an alegory of racism but you draw the line at cuck shit, trans people and gay men having sex???? sorry chud x-men has always been hecking progressive"
Surprised it’s going to be cel shaded 3D but not surprised, since who does 2D animation anymore?
It would have been interesting to see full 2D animation again.
My biggest fear is that most of the cast wont have much to do. There's 12 main characters and only 10 episodes, and its unlikely we'll gett many standalone stuff outside of arc stuff. With the most we're getting being a "jubilee plays an arcade game" plot.
this
they need to drop some characters that suck up all the attention, namely cyclops, jean and wolverine
Two of those are already getting most of it...
then it's going to be disappointing because it won't be x-men, it will just be the jean and scott show
Or the magneto show.
lol it's just a holocaust survivor telling genocide jokes
Expecting something gay.
Most definitely. They're gonna gaygify at least half the characters.
I just hope that keep the original FX for their mutant powers, they are too iconic to change, specially Magneto and Cyclops power
?si=eJIqnLcGmVenJFPs
Probably will.
What are your guys hopes and fears of the show?
how bad will they frick morph?
He's gonna be exiles morph despite it being the 90s thing.
that's my wish. he was my favorite character from exiles
but wasn't he turned into a non binary in this show? part of his personality was being comically womanizing
Huh havent haerd that before at all. I don't think so?
In the original he was just some guy, that's where he was renamed to morph
They already whitefaced him so that he looks like AoA/Exiles Morph
He's going to be gay/pansexual and nonbinary.
She's not voicing Jubilee, she "voluntarily" gave up the role so an Asian could get it because being Asian means she's somehow better able to voice the character than the person who spent 5 seasons voicing her.
My guess is that they use her for a Kitty guest appearance or maybe they do a pseudo-Generation X episode and have her voice Husk. I was going to say voice Blink but Blink is black now so no go for whitey.
The mouse can dredge up Alyson Court, but Capcom had Claire played by a goblin in the RE2 remake?
Man I have to watch the OG show already
Be aware that season 3 is completely out of order.
How so?
NTA but part of the episodes' production was delayed
Ah I see
They're in order on Disney+ now, and the wiki has then in the correct order. A shame about the DVDs though.
>and Alyson Court.
Who won't be playing the same character because a third generation US born and raised Chinese cartoon can't be played by a Canadian white woman. Seriously did any of you ever remember Jubilee is even supposed to be Chinese? No you didn't. Shut up and stop lying.
I'm a Jubes fan so of course I know. Her voice was fine though.
>What are your hopes
That the animation doesn't look like shit and is at least as good as the original cartoon. This shouldn't be a high bar to clear, yet it is.
>fears?
That the animation is the typical, bottom-budget fare we always get from Disney these days.
I'm an adult, I won't watch your cartoon if it looks like shit. You can get away with that Cartoon Network-level shit with young kids and college-aged stoners but not with 40-somethings, which this show is clearly aimed at.
Yep. If true, I'm out. Another shitty reboot.
fear: it's going to be full of gay shit like modern X-men comics.
I assume any 00s/10s story lines are off-limits considering that they're still adapting 80s era Claremont story lines with Inferno and Headmaster Magneto being in 97 merch but after seeing that X-Cutioner is showing up, I'd be interested in seeing TAS version of Onslaught, would be a cool way of bringing back Xavier and a moral dilemma for Magneto.
Also with it all under Disney banner, would be cool to see this universe version of other Marvel heroes and finger crossed...maybe an appearance from TAS Spiderman?
Interesting enough the '92 continuity comics have a lot of the 2000s stuff, with Cassandra Nova being a main villain.
>Watching S1
I fricking hate Jubilee so fricking much
We should have gotten Kitty, but the X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men pilot failed and they decided not to have her as a main character in the '92 series because of it. (That pilot also had Aussie sounding Wolverine too.)
That's not why. It's because she was a member of Excalibur at the time. The 1992 show was largely based off of the roster in the comics at that point when Jim Lee was doing the art. It's the same reason Nightcrawler wasn't there in the beginning.
This, same as to why gambit and rouge were part of the main cast.
Peak roster btw
>Magneto is 6'10"
The frick.
He's 6'2'' according to the original Handbook of the Marvel Universe, looks like that cartoon chose to ignore that and make him a big guy.
It does look like a good couple of inches of that are helmet
Dazzler's inclusion confuses me
She was part of the late-80s team.
She also had a movie in the works.
Dazzler, Jubilee and Boom-Boom are basically all the same character
Powerset sure.
Boom Boom and Jubilee are both sarcastic teen girls who are kinda mall bimbos
Tabitha is significantly dumber.
I need bimbo proportions jubilee now.
Revival BETTER not disappoint
I hope 90s Spider-Man will follow next.
Proposed ideas for Season Six from back in the day...
>Madame Web would have taken Spider-Man to 19th century London where he would have found Mary Jane who had amnesia. While in 19th century London, Spider-Man would have fought Carnage who was revealed to be Jack the Ripper.
>Mysterio would have been revealed to be alive and in possession of the Time Dilation Accelerator. Mysterio would have used the Time Dilation Accelerator to rob banks. However, one of the portals would have accidentally taken Mysterio to the another dimension where he would have met Dormammu. Mysterio would have then become Dormammu’s new servant and would try to bring him into our world. Spider-Man would have then teamed up with Ghost Rider to defeat both Dormammu and Mysterio.
>The villain Beetle might have appeared in an episode.
>Norman Osborn would have returned from limbo and taken back the role of the Green Goblin from his son, Harry.
>Richard Fisk would have returned as a masked criminal called the Rose and was going to frame the Daily Bugle reporter Ned Leeds.
>Since James Cameron's Spider-Man film was canceled it is possible that Sandman would have appeared in season six.
>Betty Brandt would have been introduced as Joe "Robbie" Robertson's assistant and she would have had a crush on Peter Parker. Character designs were created but she was never introduced. Her name was also spelled Betty Brandt instead of Betty Brant.
(1/2)
>An episode involving the villain Puma would have been made. According to online rumors a script involving Puma was actually written.
>The Hulk might have also made a guest appearance in the series.
>The villain, Jack O'Lantern might have appeared.
>Miles Warren might have returned as the Jackal.
>According to John Semper Jr. on his Spider-Man: TAS Facebook page he would have done an updated version of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends as a more serious version. The episode would have guest starred Iceman and Firestar, and he would have tried to get Frank Welker and Kathy Garver to reprise their roles from Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. According to John Semper Jr. at the end of the episode, after the villain was beat, Spider-Man, Iceman, and Firestar would have all looked at one another and said, "Hey, maybe we should all hang out together and be FRIENDS. Wouldn't that be AMAZING?" Then, after a short silence, they would all shake their heads and go, "Nahhhhhhhhh" and take off on their own separate ways.
(2/2)
cringe
The only thing that may have been good is the first one:
Web would have taken Spider-Man to 19th century London where he would have found Mary Jane who had amnesia. While in 19th century London, Spider-Man would have fought Carnage who was revealed to be Jack the Ripper.
Apparently it was going to have a load of Spider-Man villains in 19th century London and be a bigger arc/thing. There was a more complete script somewhere that I think some of the voice actors read at a convention sometime but I can't find it.
Do you mean this?

Teaser
>The story opens with Spider-Man holding onto Madame Web's chair as they travel through a time and space vortex in their search for Mary Jane. Up ahead they see a dark figure, which turns out to be MJ. Spider-Man tries to reach her, but the vortex scrambles his webbing. Suddenly a bolt of electricity sends them flying into the center of the vortex. Spider-Man and Madame Web come crashing down. Madame Web's chair is damaged in the crash and her link to this reality is broken. Madame Web fades away, leaving Spider-Man alone, in a new unknown dimension to continue his search for Mary Jane.
>The theme song plays here.
Act 1
>Spider-Man places a Spider-Tracer on Madame Web's chair and ventures out into the unknown dimension. He comes across a train and hopes that he has landed back in New York City. As he rides on top of the train, he notices a familiar sight. It's Big Ben. He has landed in London. As he finds a newspaper, he discovers that Jack the Ripper is at large and "Professor Challenger Launches Expedition To Find Lost World". What were just stories in Peter's world appear to be real in this one.
>The story turns to a streetwalker in Whitechapel as she tries to entertain a man but lurking in the shadows is Jack the Ripper. As Spider-Man races across building tops above looking for MJ, he hears a scream and immediately comes to the young woman's rescue only to find that Jack the Ripper is none other than his old foe, Carnage.
>Spider-Man and Carnage battle. Carnage slices a gaslight in half and then breaks both of Spider-Man's Web-Shooters. Carnage uses the gas coming from the open glass light to ignite a fire and runs off. Spider-Man quickly uses his strength to bend the gas light and stop the gas from leaking. A crowd has gathered now and calls Spider-Man, Jack the Ripper as he leaps off.
Act 2
>Spider-Man "borrows" clothing from a shop, so he can fit in as Peter Parker.
>Elsewhere, Mary Jane drops our of the vortex and is nearly struck by a cab carrying this dimension's J. Jonah Jameson and Flash Thompson, who have come from New York to get the scoop on Jack the Ripper. Mary Jane has amnesia and is found by two streetwalkers, Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes, who offer to help her.
>Back to Spider-Man as he searches for Mary Jane, he spots the Green Goblin. He assumes Norman Osborn must have also ended up here after their final battle. Spider-Man attacks Green Goblin, and they crash into a circus where Spider-Man also faces none other than Mysterio.
Act 3
>Seeing through his tricks, Spider-Man subdues Mysterio. It is revealed that this isn't the Mysterio that Spider-Man knows, nor is it the Green Goblin he had originally thought it was. These two are native to this dimension and run a circus. The Green Goblin is this dimension's Harry Osborn and was simply advertising their circus, "Mysterio's Carnival of Mysteries and Illusions." Harry and Beck offer Spider-Man food and a place to sleep as well as to help him repair his Web-Shooters. In exchange, Spider-Man will give them credit for helping him catch Jack the Ripper, which should put their circus on the map.
>Beck takes Peter and Harry to his friend that has the parts needed to fix Spider-Man's Web-Shooters. When they arrive at his home, Peter is shocked to discover that Beck's friend is none other than H.G. Wells. Once inside, Peter's spider sense alerts him to danger. Peter sneaks away and discovers a machine down the hall. He quickly orders Wells to shut it off, realizing that Wells has been working on a time-machine and that same machine must have been what caused himself, Madame Web, Carnage, and Mary Jane to come to his reality. Peter then takes Wells, Harry, and Beck to Madame Web's damaged chair by using his Spider-Tracer. He convinces Wells to help repair the chair so that he could return home with MJ and Carnage. Peter decides to go to 221B Baker Street, where he can get help from the world's greatest detective.
Act 4
>Peter enlists the help of none other than Sherlock Holmes, to find Mary Jane. Holmes concludes that the only place MJ could be, where her foreign clothes wouldn't draw too much attention is Whitechapel. Peter thanks Holmes and leaves for Whitechapel. Holmes declares that he and Watson must follow Peter after noticing the mud, red paint, and tar on Peter's shoe. He believes Peter somehow scaled the wall of a building nearby and should be investigated. They discover they were right as Peter turns down an ally and climbs up a building. They decide to go to Whitechapel as well to further investigate.
>Mary Jane decides to return to where she had fallen, hoping someone will be looking for her. She runs into this world's Flash Thompson, which slightly jogs her memory. Flash understandably doesn't recognize her. Flash and Jameson split up to find Jack the Ripper. Catherine and Elizabeth believe MJ is trying to entertain Flash and leave her to her "work". Suddenly MJ and Flash hear a scream and rush to find Elizabeth's corpse with blood spilling from her mouth and slashed throat. Carnage then kills Catherine. Carnage recognizes Mary Jane from before he was born and part of Venom. This helps Mary Jane remember as well. Carnage tries to attack, but Spider-Man arrives and tosses Carnage with webbing. Spider-Man then takes off his mask and reveals his secret identity to a shocked Mary Jane. Peter and Mary Jane then kiss. Carnage returns to break up their reunion and escapes with Mary Jane as his captive.
Act 5
>Carnage doesn't get far with Mary Jane, because Mysterio attacks him with his illusions. Jameson arrives and fires a shot from his gun, piercing Mysterio in his arm. Jameson declares that he wants to end the Whitechapel murders. Holmes arrives and disarms Jameson, explaining that Mysterio and Spider-Man are trying to stop Jack the Ripper. Spider-Man webs up Jameson and returns to chasing Carnage. Spider-Man believes Carnage will try to be nostalgic and bring Mary Jane to Tower Bridge to reenact where he last saw her. When Spider-Man arrives at Tower Bridge he finds that he was right, and Carnage throws Mary Jane off the bridge.
Act 6
>Mary Jane is then saved by this universe's Green Goblin. Green Goblin attacks Carnage with his pumpkin bombs and leaves the rest up to Spider-Man once he has run out of bombs. Spider-Man gets Carnage to chase him to Big Ben, remembering that the noise from the clock would separate a symbiote from its host. The plan is a success, but before Spider-Man can capture Kasady, he jumps, not wanting to live without his symbiote. Spider-Man takes his camera down, that he had placed earlier. He plans on giving photos to Beck and Harry to help their circus and prove they helped end Jack the Ripper.
>Peter and Mary Jane return to Wells who believes he has repaired Madame Web's chair, but before they can try it, Carnage reappears and takes Mary Jane, holding a knife-like tendril to her throat. Carnage tries to use the chair to kill in other dimensions, but a safeguard only allowing Madame Web to use the chair rips Carnage apart and sends him in pieces to limbo. Mary Jane just barley escapes and Madame Web returns.
>Madame Web returns Mary Jane home and brings Spider-Man to "No Place", where she shows him Spiders from alternate dimensions. Madame Web shows Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, and Lady Spider. Madame Web tells Peter about the importance of being Spider-Man and reminds him, "With great power comes great responsibility." Spider-Man returns to New York City on Earth-92131. He tells Bruce that he accepts being Spider-Man. The story concludes with Spider-Man web swinging through New York City.
prostitutes and throat slashing? You could not even say blood on this show
He wrote it in 2016 as a treat for fans, not with the intent for it to ever air on television. Greg Weisman's Gargoyles comics are also much edgier than what aired on the show. When you don't have to deal with BS&P you can do what you want.
Oh ok, I thought they forgot what show they were writing for.
For some reason, the 2022 comic aren’t as edgy, which really sticks out in the prequel taking place in old Scotland.
The 19th century London is a dump idea that should be replaced with something more familiar to what we have nowadays.
Besides, I want the Spider-Marriage not to be ruined in this reality.
There was an attraction in Universal Studios Park about Spider-Man that was influenced by this series. Spidey fought the "Sinister Syndicate", composed by Doc Ock, Hobgoblin, Scream, Electro and Hydro-Man. They could adapt something like that.
I believe Spidercide could have appeared in the main reality of the show; as a product of Warren combining Spider-Man's DNA with Hydro-Man's powers.
Semper is anti-marriage.
Then don't let him anywhere close if they continue Spider-Man's series.
Spider-Man TAS was his vision with forced concessions to broadcast standards and practices and the toy people. Without Semper, it's not TAS.
https://dcanimated.com/WF/sections/specials/spidermantas/interviews/interviews/semper/
>MAA: Why was the decision made to make Mary Jane a water clone towards the end of the series? When "Turning Point" was originally conceived, did you actually intend to bring her back?
>Semper: It was a way for us to do the marriage of Peter and M.J. without having it actually stick. I mean, Peter can't ever get the girl for real, now, can he? And, yes, I always intended to bring the real M.J. back.
That sucks! Considering how many people today pray for OMD to be undone, they should do it in the animated series.
After saving the multiverse from Spider-Carnage, Madame Web and Beyonder should at least grant this to Parker.
>I mean, Peter can't ever get the girl for real, now, can he?
Why do people think this way?
There's a long list of media that went downhill when the boy finally got the girl yet the story kept on going. I personally don't believe Spider-Man became that way in the comic or the comic strip, but many people do.
As
mentions, they were going to have MJ take a break and introduce Betty Brandt as his new love interest.
Its just that semper is one of those gays
Huh, but how did he intend to continue it with the real mJ out.
Is he? Where did he say that?
All of the season 6 ideas sound bad which is followed on by the fact that season 5 was bad. A Spider-Man TAS revival having completely different writers might not be so bad simply because the show got worse as it went. Seasons 4 and 5 are bad and season 3 is kind of shitty too. Only the first two seasons are actually good.
Might as well want a new Spider-Man cartoon rather than a continuation of one you didn't like.
For SMTAS, they could do a movie where he saves Mary Jane. They did some special radio play with the original VAs some time ago. Just animate it.
>sixth season didn't air
probably for the best. and i don't get why spider man would team up with ghost rider AND doctor strange too
In the Ghost Rider's case, probably to make up for the fact that he got cucked out of a guest appearance because of UPN.
>UPN
i guess that was the reason morbius got nerfed in to having hand suckers or was that fox?
Spider-Man aired on Fox.
Fox imposed a lot of restrictions on Spider-Man, Morbius included.
UPN called dibs on Ghost Rider for a cartoon and never did anything with him, preventing him from guest appearances in the Fox cartoons. This is also why they used Lizard instead of Hulk for the crossover; UPN was airing his cartoon.
>and i don't get why spider man would team up with ghost rider
It happened a few times in the 90s
no i mean when was dormammu ever a ghost rider villain? he's a dr strange villain i thought. i only read ghost rider 2099 and only 2 midnight sons comics so i wouldn't know
You know Disney would make them do Spider-Verse. Even the Carnage the Ripper idea would be better than that
He did spider-verse on his own.
Why was this moved back? Was meant to come out this year...
Probably because it sucks shit and they're trying to patch it up.
It's going to be shit. Like the last few episodes of the series that had a completely different animation style and just felt off but ten times worse.
>Several cast members return from the original series, including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, and Alyson Court.
Is this going to be like modern Simpsons where Marge sounds like a garbage disposal full of bones?
>garbage disposal full of bones
That's my favorite Death Metal album.
Going to correct some shit as I worked on the show:
1. Storm doesn't get depowered; we were told we couldn't do the storyline (cause you can't make a black character look weak). The decision to give her the mohawk was 100% done as an Easter egg, like using the Romita Magneto costume redesign.
2. Madelyne Pryor and Xcutioner are also not in the show. From what I've been told via contacts with Hasbro, they stuck her and Xcutioner into the '97 toy line because the X-Men '97 toy line is going to be the default "X-Men" toy line going forward for Hasbro (the same way that apparently the retro-cards are the defacto Spider-Man line) and they had two figures they wanted to release but didn't have any room elsewhere to stick them in.
3. Emma being a villain is something we fought HARD for. As in, it was one of the things that we held the line on in light of other compromises we were forced to make (like recasting Jubilee, only being allowed to show white men as anti-mutant bigots, and not being allowed to have Storm look weak at all).
Why do you do this? You go into every thread or make threads to "leak" shit which is just fanfiction to b***h about wokeshit. Goddamn you are insane.
Absolutely shit larp, if this was the reason Madeleine got a figure then she wouldn't be getting a funko with the exact same design as a mere coincidence
Maddie's getting pushed in the comics right now and as the poster said, all things x-related these days is being pushed under the X-Men 92 banner even if it's not connected to the show
Based, this means Nightcrawler's new origin is going to be in the show
Wouldn't count on it. They told his origin before Austen did that Azazel shit and Destiny doesn't even exist in TAS.
Oh that's right
>Destiny doesn't even exist in TAS
>Implying they won't retcon it
Madeline pryorior also has a funko, and a brand new design, she's in the show.
Zero hope.
I'm afraid if they'll go for making everything CG and then rotoscoping poor 3D animation like Invincible.
Those animators are afraid to draw, like half of the anime out today.
>Those animators are afraid to draw
Budget and deadlines are always the answer.
Always.
dat bulge tho
Is that allowed on a blueboard?
Why does he look so much better in white and red than the comic's blue, though
Wasn't the new X-Men supposed to come out this year? The frick's goin on at Disney?
Yep
Can't wait for characters to magically become gay and start talking about pronouns.
Iceman?
Or norhtstar i guess.
This exact thing happened with the Young Justice revival. Not even exaggerating.
But there's a bunch of x-men ones that are gay.
Do you really want your gay superheroes to sit around a table and talk about how heckin' gay they are, or would you rather watch them punch shit?
I want my gay superheroes to do the normal superhero stuff just that instead of fricking a hot chick they frick a hot man.
Iceman wasn't until he got mind-raped.
Northstar is gay.
Reminder that this will be a shitty CG animation.
See
>1997 was almost 30 years ago
I'll watch it to hear Dodd as Wolverine again.
BUB
I would love an avengers or FF team up with the 97 teams maybe an onslaught 3 parter
Spider-Man has got to guest star at least once surely, they’ve said it’s two seasons already so lots of time.
conmsidering they are doing hybrid casting between LA and Toronto (and technically Vancouver cause Chris Britton and Adrian Hough are based there) this should be easy.
