Again, you're making up an argument to shoot down. But while we're on the subject, the fight scenes are literally the only thing somewhat well animated, though there's a clear overuse of tweening and jumpcuts to obfuscate lack of choreography.
The argument isn't against being digitally animated, the problem is it's painfully obvious when they use CGI to cut corners and generally half-ass moments outside of action.

Ya, I don't get how you could do that any other way. Lifedeath is also one of the biggest Storm stories out there.
Additionally, it's a 30 minute show, you can't go over the multiarc minute details of every event in a story without skipping some fluff (like some of the useless crossovers with the Greater Marvel Universe).

It's good/interesting so far. My only biggest qualm is the animation barring fight scenes can be stiff at times and the animation overall is inferior to the original's. Also you could always setup a Qbittorrent/VPN or better yet just use Kisscartoon.li since that site gets episodes the moment they drop without any hassle. I use a Adblock Browser app on my phone to see virtually no ads so the site is definitely ideal for me instead of torrenting all the time.

I've been watching the original and disagree, it can get really wonky at times. And is miles ahead better than season 5. Now, still inferior to Xmen Evolution animation
I watched the 1st episode and decided to shelve it. the sound design sucks and while they expand on powers. shit things like beast jumping into a sentinel and magically controlling it happen. the OG had charm that you can't reproduce.
So far it's good. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than the original, it's about the same. I recommend trying it. If they frick it up we can always say it's not canon.
This thread reminds me of my recent discovery of there being a Captain America and Daredevil being in the works during the MAU days but unfortunately got canceled. Despite what that DD tweet says, other sources claim Fox was on board with the project and Marvel was the one who delayed it to coincide with the 2003 movie and then canceled due to the movie's poor reception.
It's been fun so far, but I wish that they'd stop rushing through storylines so fast. They try to give each character something useful or interesting to do. Some of the shipping stuff with Madeline/Jean/Scott and Magneto/Rogue/Gambit gets tedious really quickly though.
It's good. Some stuff is adapted for the better here versus the comics. The animation quality is solid throughout, but it also really knows when it ramp it all up. Some instances are very stunning. It's also not afraid to be campy to offset the typical X-Men melodrama.
In my opinion, two things hold it back. The first is a slight but noticeable quality whiplash, especially in terms of writing. Lifedeath was one of the best things that this show has borrowed from for its story, and strangely it did not deliver on the adaptation. Part of this is due to the writer change. One writer is significantly stronger than the other.
The second thing is the nostalgia element itself. Outside of Storm's VA, most of the returning cast just doesn't perform too well. They're okay at best. The better voice actors are the newer ones.
No other board and no major youtuber cares enough to talk about it. Save for homosexuals on YouTube praising it. Always a huge red flag when straight men who aren't obviously virtue signaling don't have shit to say about it.
He's the embodiment of a very controversial storyline that only served to assassinate Xavier's character, and "solve" a mystery nobody wanted the answers to. In case you're wondering, he's Scott's second long lost brother, whose existence was hidden by Xavier.
Reasonably it's not a big deal, since the original series dropped tons of cameos of popular and hated characters alike that didn't amount to anything. But seeing how many other controversial plots '97 has adapted, there's always the fear they could go off the rails and delve into it.
Meh; they've had Cyclops and Havok fight face to face and none of them recognize each other or had a moment saying oh wait they're in fact brothers so we'll just have to see how this plays out.
Scott has a 4th half brother who wears a snapback and was genetically engineered , his son from an alternate future fricked his mom and his other his granddaughter is a mutant from present day who was sent to the future to he raised by his son and then was sent back to live with Scott and the X-Men.
He's more Mr Sinister than Summers. I still wonder of they'll ever make Gambit a Sinister clone i'm 616 since they have never shown his birth parents.

The Summers family tree is one of the greatest agricultural wonders of the X-men setting. It's a moronicly beautiful clusterfrick with random crap grafted every year.

Just make a Fantastic'99 season where Franklin is Born and it is a kid and have Simon Templeman voice Doctor Doom once more, and have Lou Ferrigno voice Hulk and maybe Devil For one last time.

That could have been neat. There was no ban, Pryde of the X-Men failed so the 92 cartoon used Jubilee as the new audience stand-in character and didn't use Pryde because she would be redundant.
Was the PoV character in the pilot, that failed so they didn't use her in the series ever again and Junilee became the designated teen the character could explain shit to.
I feel like Jubilee may be going into her vampire arc so that would leave space for Kitty.

They wanted to include Thunderbird because he was the X-Man who died and their original plan didn't involve Morph coming back so they rejected that because they didn't want to kill a minority right off the bat (BS&P originally objected to Fabian Cortez appearing as a villain because there was no Latino hero counterpart and they had to be told he was 100% castizo). It was purely "this is the current X-Men line-up"

Season 1 of Hulk and Season 2 of Iron Man and Fantastic Four gel the most because they all had Tom Tataranowicz and his crew behind them. X-Men had a lot of restrictions under Saban, and only really had Cap and Carol as guest heroes, but Larry Houston and the other animators kept finding ways to sneak cameos past the guys checking for shit like that. Spider-Man seemed to have access to all the Marvel stuff but John Semper picked and chose what he liked, and didn't give a damn about keeping continuity with anything else. He liked the Iron Man show, so he kept Robert Hays and Season 1 War Machine James Avery. He liked X-Men, so he got the whole cast flown in for the two parter. He couldn't do that for Secret Wars, so he just brought in original Storm actress, Iona Morris, who he was friends with. She was already replaced with Allison Sealy Smith in the X-Men series. He hated Fantastic Four, so he recasted and had redesigns for the team and Doom. Only Quinton Flynn made it back in as Human Torch.

He didn't read the comic, the Genosha Mutant Massacre is where Emma awakes her second power due to the Trauma caused by the sentinels murdering everyone, including her students in front of her.

Generally, I'd agree with you. The truncated version still works for Charles' point. I don't like the limited number of episodes however because we get stuff like Lifedeath being divided. Some could say that this was divided to make sense of the timeline, but I think it hurts it more than it helps.

The weird thing it's not really any more woke then X-men was in the 90s but the previews tried to make it look like it was way more woke than it actually was with Bishop on the team, Morph being non binary and heavy focus on Jubliee and Sunspot as the minority couple. As it turns out Bishop left after 3 episodes of doing nothing but occasionally shoot something, Morph averages a minute of episode of mostly just changing into whatever cameoes they feel like adding, and Jubliee and Sunspot are minor characters. Most of the focus is one the white characters.

Hearing Ross Marquand as Xavier really makes me mad how hard they botched Magneto's recasting. Marquand's really close to Cedric Smith's performance, but brings his own nuance that's still spot on to the character. Matthew Waterson doesn't match up to David Hemblen or embody the character much. Guy sounded less imposing and more like the henchman who sucks up to the main villain. Glad I'm not going to have to hear him for a while.

It's been two days now and no one had made the reference to Superman Birthright and Man Of Steel with storm flying over the plains/fields with animals and then flying over the water and seeing her reflection? It was blatant as frick and I thought someone by now would have made the connection.

It's good/interesting so far. My only biggest qualm is the animation barring fight scenes can be stiff at times and the animation overall is inferior to the original's. Also you could always setup a Qbittorrent/VPN or better yet just use Kisscartoon.li since that site gets episodes the moment they drop without any hassle. I use a Adblock Browser app on my phone to see virtually no ads so the site is definitely ideal for me instead of torrenting all the time.

So far it's good. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than the original, it's about the same. I recommend trying it. If they frick it up we can always say it's not canon.

It's been fun so far, but I wish that they'd stop rushing through storylines so fast. They try to give each character something useful or interesting to do. Some of the shipping stuff with Madeline/Jean/Scott and Magneto/Rogue/Gambit gets tedious really quickly though.

It's good. Some stuff is adapted for the better here versus the comics. The animation quality is solid throughout, but it also really knows when it ramp it all up. Some instances are very stunning. It's also not afraid to be campy to offset the typical X-Men melodrama.
In my opinion, two things hold it back. The first is a slight but noticeable quality whiplash, especially in terms of writing. Lifedeath was one of the best things that this show has borrowed from for its story, and strangely it did not deliver on the adaptation. Part of this is due to the writer change. One writer is significantly stronger than the other.
The second thing is the nostalgia element itself. Outside of Storm's VA, most of the returning cast just doesn't perform too well. They're okay at best. The better voice actors are the newer ones.

He's the embodiment of a very controversial storyline that only served to assassinate Xavier's character, and "solve" a mystery nobody wanted the answers to. In case you're wondering, he's Scott's second long lost brother, whose existence was hidden by Xavier.
Reasonably it's not a big deal, since the original series dropped tons of cameos of popular and hated characters alike that didn't amount to anything. But seeing how many other controversial plots '97 has adapted, there's always the fear they could go off the rails and delve into it.
Meh; they've had Cyclops and Havok fight face to face and none of them recognize each other or had a moment saying oh wait they're in fact brothers so we'll just have to see how this plays out.

There was no ban, Pryde of the X-Men failed so the 92 cartoon used Jubilee as the new audience stand-in character and didn't use Pryde because she would be redundant.
Was the PoV character in the pilot, that failed so they didn't use her in the series ever again and Junilee became the designated teen the character could explain shit to.
I feel like Jubilee may be going into her vampire arc so that would leave space for Kitty.
Jubilee was also far more recent than her in the comics at the time. Gambit was in fact even more recent than Jubilee.
That's funny because Kitty was the POV in X-Men Evolution. Really shows the difference in mindsets at the time. I imagine one of the reasons Kitty was a no-go was because her powers weren't "action" enough.
The Evolution crew was made by people with Kitty nostalgia, that's all. The TAS crew was committed to having an X-Men line-up that reflected the current comics, so Jubilee was a given. Kitty and Nightcrawler were stuck in Excalibur at the time. They had a couple of ideas for Nightcrawler episodes, but having Kitty as a guest star wasn't as easy.
The original TAS were also trying to go for more diversity in their team. For example, Thunderbird was originally on the team before being replaced for Morph. So Jubilee instead of Kitty makes sense from that perspective.
Thunderbird? Well that explains the random Warpath cameos.
Don't overthink it. They wanted to include Thunderbird because he was the X-Man who died and their original plan didn't involve Morph coming back so they rejected that because they didn't want to kill a minority right off the bat (BS&P originally objected to Fabian Cortez appearing as a villain because there was no Latino hero counterpart and they had to be told he was 100% castizo). It was purely "this is the current X-Men line-up"
I don't think there was a formal ban but Kitty is the most prominent X-character to never appear in the Fox X-Men continuity. On the other hand, it took them a long time to get around to showing Psyloche.

Season 1 of Hulk and Season 2 of Iron Man and Fantastic Four gel the most because they all had Tom Tataranowicz and his crew behind them. X-Men had a lot of restrictions under Saban, and only really had Cap and Carol as guest heroes, but Larry Houston and the other animators kept finding ways to sneak cameos past the guys checking for shit like that. Spider-Man seemed to have access to all the Marvel stuff but John Semper picked and chose what he liked, and didn't give a damn about keeping continuity with anything else. He liked the Iron Man show, so he kept Robert Hays and Season 1 War Machine James Avery. He liked X-Men, so he got the whole cast flown in for the two parter. He couldn't do that for Secret Wars, so he just brought in original Storm actress, Iona Morris, who he was friends with. She was already replaced with Allison Sealy Smith in the X-Men series. He hated Fantastic Four, so he recasted and had redesigns for the team and Doom. Only Quinton Flynn made it back in as Human Torch.

He didn't read the comic, the Genosha Mutant Massacre is where Emma awakes her second power due to the Trauma caused by the sentinels murdering everyone, including her students in front of her.
Scott and Jean recruits her to the X-Men after it to help her, if anything this is where we are getting Emma becoming good, but with the help of Scott and Jean, with Jean later becoming phoenix.

The weird thing it's not really any more woke then X-men was in the 90s but the previews tried to make it look like it was way more woke than it actually was with Bishop on the team, Morph being non binary and heavy focus on Jubliee and Sunspot as the minority couple. As it turns out Bishop left after 3 episodes of doing nothing but occasionally shoot something, Morph averages a minute of episode of mostly just changing into whatever cameoes they feel like adding, and Jubliee and Sunspot are minor characters. Most of the focus is one the white characters.

Hearing Ross Marquand as Xavier really makes me mad how hard they botched Magneto's recasting. Marquand's really close to Cedric Smith's performance, but brings his own nuance that's still spot on to the character. Matthew Waterson doesn't match up to David Hemblen or embody the character much. Guy sounded less imposing and more like the henchman who sucks up to the main villain. Glad I'm not going to have to hear him for a while.
He's already died before. It'd be redundant.
i thought Watterson was the better voice match than Marquand here.

It's not bad, but I don't expect the quality to last given they kicked out the showrunner the week before the show started, presumably when the saw the finished work and realized that they hired him as a gay black guy assuming he'd push the narrative Disney's been constantly shooting for but it's turn he was actually just a legit fan of the X-men and the original show (and not just doing lip service to it like most do) and wanted to make more of it. Especially with some of the lines seemingly hitting very close to home, like how mutant popularity was increasing only because pop culture deemed it in vogue, or mutants bemoaning how hard they have it when it fact they have a massive edge they can take advantage of if they get over the idea of a few normies not liking them (like minority politics and how people can take advantage of them)
If it gets a second season expect them to make sure they have a "proper" show runner that hates the source material, believes So Cal is the whole universe and is ready to push the agenda they want.
