X-Men have two Jean's. Jean reads Jean's mind and sees that Jean is very dense; she mostly has vague memories of flashbacks from the original show, "as if her awareness was born only yesterday." Jean had woken up in a laboratory, escaped, saw the X-Men on TV and found hope in her life.
Beast reveals that he used gamma radiation to check their DNA: Jane Doe is her proper age, while our Jean is not. Ergo, our Jean is a clone
So Jean's pissed and says that someone with bad intentions must have sabotaged Beast's science. She looks to Scott for back-up, but even he's doubting her. In a very Maddy moment, our Jean shatters Beast's science stuff and insists that she's the real Jean Grey. She starts guilt-tripping all of them, then takes baby Nathan and walks away..
Sinister is bothering Jean, who hates him. To her horror, he reveals that he created her. He can also control her against her will. He has her wreck the room and undergo a magical girl transformation to turn goth.
Sunspot and Jubes are experiencing weird things while they watch TV. One of the actress comes out of the TV as a monster with Sunspot's mom's head. Gambit goes to Xavier's Office and sees Rogneto in their Savage Land outfits, fusing together. Cyclops and Bishop head to the crib to get the baby away from Maddy, but a monster shows up and grabs them. A monstrous version of Xavier taunts Scott about his failures. Shard's head guilts Bishop about abandoning his time, and her.

So they're all in Hell now, fighting their literal and figurative demons. While everyone fights back, Bishop is the one to kick the most ass. He charges up with Cyke's blasts and vaporizes all of the demons. But then a giant demon Sentinal arrives tOh wait, the real Jean shows up to shut down all the demon hallucinations and return things to normal.
And then she faints. Maddy shows up and calls her pathetic. Scott tells her that she doesn't have to be evil and mind-controlled, but she says that she's beyond Jean Grey, she is fire and brimstone and yadda yadda. She's animated really well, her boobs are looking insane and her hair is huge. I love that for her. And she's walking right out with her babby.
ater, the X-Men lick their wounds. Rogneto shows up and Rogue is quick to check on Remy first. Scott feels bad that he couldn't protect Jean or his son. Morph, having a personal history with Sinister, says he can lead the others to him.
Meanwhile, Sinister dumps the baby in some slime. The X-Men find Sinister's lair, though Morph tells the others to not kill the clone Jean, since she's under Sinister's control. Maddy mocks him, then talks smack about Scott being Xavier's little follower. She brainwashes Morph into fighting for her, but Magneto decides to 1v1 Maddy himself. And the choreography for this fight is really good, I gotta say.
Magneto starts losing, but Cyclops shoots Maddy in the face, drawing blood. He apologized, but Maddy smiles as she wipes the blood from her lips and wow, she's actually kinda hot and I think we should keep her instead of the real Jean. She then embraces him and gives him a kiss on the lips. "Don't worry. You'll bleed too, darling."
>She's animated really well, her boobs are looking insane and her hair is huge. I love that for her.
Based.
>the real Jean shows up to shut down all the demon hallucinations and return things to normal.
>And then she faints.
>Meanwhile, Jean is struggling to remember how to control her powers. So she's pretty much useless at the moment. But Wolverine's there
>to power-simp until she finally remembers her past. She senses that Scott's in danger, almost faints again, and declares that she has to go help him.
They really wanted to make it obvious who the real Jean was, didn't they?
30 minutes and they wanted to wrap up the entire thing.
I just found it funny how they piled on her signature fainting spells after Maddie started losing it.

Meanwhile, Jean is struggling to remember how to control her powers. So she's pretty much useless at the moment. But Wolverine's there
to power-simp until she finally remembers her past. She senses that Scott's in danger, almost faints again, and declares that she has to go help him. Beats tells her to stay in bed. So she does - but she sends her mind out to telepathically fight Madds.
The girls fight on a mental plane. The Goblin Queen is pissed, saying that Jean took her face, husband, family, and now her mind. Enough violation! She remembers the power of the Phoenix, and... Jean stops her there. She sends them on a flashback to when they met Xavier. And then farther, when their childhood friend Annie got hit by a car and was isekai'd to another world. This pain helped awaken their powers.
Jean is surprised by the emotional pain they feel. Maddie insists that it's her [Maddie's] pain, not Jean's. "We are what we remember. And YOU remember nothing." Maddie pushes Jean into a giant Jean's mouth, and the two get vore'd. Maddie flashes back to giving birth to her baby, and she remembers the love she feels for him. This is more than a memory to her, and Jean confirms that he's a living reminder of the pure love two people can share.
Sinny's control over Maddie is broken, so she teams up with Cyclops to save Nathan. Sinister says that they have doomed the boy before leaving. Doomed how? Well, Nathan is now infected with the TO virus.
Well, Beast's science can't help, the virus strain is too advanced for him. Maddie proposes that they can send Nathan to the future to save the babby. Bishop knows someone who might help, but his device only has enough juice to take him and Nathan. Despite Maddie's pleas, Scott doesn't want to abandon his son and refuses to be a part of this. Later, Maddie telepathically gives a message of love to her child, so he'll always know he was cared for. Bishop leaves with Nathan.
last bit of spoilers
Maddie, too, chooses to leave the Mansion. Jean says that she can stay here, as it's also her home. Jean remembers everything now, though neither Maddie nor Jean are sure when the switch was made, who married Scott, who was the Phoenix, etc. Maddie asks to be called Maddoe, and she takes off. She has a certain mutant who has the ability to unbutton a blouse. That's right, Hellion retrieval arc.
Meanwhile, Storm is in her punk outfit, drinking at a bar. Forge meets up with her. Introducing himself, he says that he's an old friend of Xavier's and wants to help her try and get back what she lost.
Notes:
Jean wears a ponytail. I'm thinking this Jean will wear the ponytail, while all those images of Jean with her hair down were just Maddie. I really hope that isn't the case. Her ponytail is ugly.
Morph transformations: Spiral, New Mutants-era teen Illyana, Darkchylde Illyana,
Disney+ is not translating Sunspot's Portuguese. Which is inconvenient, because I thiiiink I hear a grammatical error at one point, but I can't hear it well enough to get the whole thing.
Hellion from the 2000s or someone else?
Sunspot only ever says "my god" and "mom" in Portuguese, anyway.
so when do you think the Jean swap happened, i think it was during the season 4 finale. it seems like the best place to slot that in.
In my opinion the swap happened after the Phoenix Saga and before Scott married Jean.
maybe it happened between Phoenix Jean flying into the Sun and before randomly coming back before the Dark Phoenix Saga off screen
It would mean both Jean and Maddie had access to the Phoenix but that's easily written off as the Phoenix being shared between them
in season 5 when the Nasty Boys captured her. Sinister's entire plan was to frick apocalypse up with Nathan. Apocalypse plan was capturing every single Psychic that could frick him up. Jean got captured right after her and scott left after the wedding
I think they'll never confirm it.
this sounds right, but yeah season 4 finale fits the best
Go back to pooland, shill.
Can someone make a webm of her sailor moon transformation
sex with maddie
I was pretty amazed by how easily Magento got his butt kicked by Madelyne in this.
that's what happen when you don't use a helmet
he was too focused hiding his erection
how he does still get hard after Rogue's danger room session?
He even dies sexy.
Gotta give the gays and gals their due share of silver fox daddies and you shall be rewarded with dommy milfs.
>nah I'd win
Funny you say that since Cyclops VA, Ray Chase, voices Sukuna.
I chuckled.
Jean even without the Phoenix is an insanely powerful mutant. Plus they were trying not too hurt her.
He looks like sich a gigantic butt pirate with those sleeves holy shit lol it's so obvious how much he's trying to homosexualize the men while toning down the women
He has used that costume in comics.
Did he really have to go with that one though? Magneto has plenty of costumes
Fitting for the occasion, I guess.
I guess I can't argue with it, the show runner may be a gay but he has been faithful to the source material for the most part so if he wants magneto to look like a power bottom whatever I guess, lol
Magneto good guy costumes from the 80s and 90s are slim pickings.
Madeline Pryor is like...the 3rd strongest mutant ever so it makes sense.
I love evil MILFs.
Scott's living the dream right now.
That's what he had. Even got the good preggo sex.
BUT! Now he's got Jean back, who was never pregnant in the first place. So no tiger stripes, a taut li'l tummy.
shes so hot
Maddie sex!
they did a good with her, people who expected a more sexualized goblin queen in a disney cartoon are braindead
I feel like they're pushing the envelope on what's possible on TV these days. Granted, it's a lot tamer than it used to be, but they could've been a lot more conservative with it, the way we're used to nowadays. Instead, they went and made her sexy anyway.
MOMMY
she'd have to be naked to be more sexualized than this.
You lack imagination
i mean i guess you can make her wear a thong but that would be just straight softporn levels of fapbait
She can and has been sexier but this wouldn't have flown in a 90s kid cartoon or now.
imo that outfit is sexier than her normal underboob one.
I agree
underboob is stupid
Less underboob being stupid but more the outfit following a woman's curves. Heart necklines in general are underrated in terms of sexiness. I dunno if it's overexposure but a v necklines are good for cleavage I guess but the boobs themselves don't look as good compared to a heart neckline.
>they did a good with her, people who expected a more sexualized goblin queen in a disney cartoon are braindead
You're obviously under 30 because you don't remember the 90s, newbie
she showing more skin now than she did before
You're a fricking moron and a widdle shittypants baby, clearly in that webm we see she's got pitgame the reboot doesn't have
Next time you post don't post something that shows you're wrong while you're posting it
>Next time you post don't post something that shows you're wrong while you're posting it
>clearly in that webm we see she's got pitgame
Ah, so you are a degenerate.
they were expecting more??
i was honestly surprised with how much they got away with here
Cyclops impregnated this. he won
Magneto won.
a woman that’s younger than his adult daughter.
Yes, he did.
I wonder if Xavier ever hooked up with one of the younger mutant females, who would it be with?
Besides Magneto/Rogue, even Sabretooth banged Money. And we all know about Logan.
Monet suffers from modern writers not realizing how young she is. She's the same age as Jubilee. Jubilee.
I don't blame PAD or Bunn, I blame the editors. But PAD having a teenager casually fricking two 40 year old men is a choice.
Eh. Husk boned Warren. And then she banged Toad. No big Beal. The Gen X guys are adults now.
That was just as questionable, but Warren at least has the excuse of being a billionaire trust fund baby who looks like a literal angel. The bigger problem was Husk's mom being ok with them banging in the middle of the sky up above their suburban Kentucky home.
You see how many kids she has herself.
Husk’s mom is pro pro-creation!
>gay black man does more for X-Coomers than any straight man or woman has done since Jim Lee
How did this happen?
Some gay men are surprisingly good at making people feel boners. Despite the turbo homosexualry, Ryan Murphy wrote some sexy b***hes in the first seasons of AHS.
>first seasons of AHS
I'd argue seasons 1, 2, 3, 5, and 9
Gay men do appreciate the beauty of women. It's why they're so prominent in the fashion industry.
Havok bros it's our time.
Maddie sexo
That’s a MILF body with big lactating breasts for a newborn, all in a tight corset.
Truly extraordinary.
>Dark Phoenix
>Goblin Queen
Jean in any form is just better as a villain tbh
Its cause redheads are naturally evil
imagine if she had freckles
you just know if she were to be created by the Jackal she would have had both freckles and ponytails.
My gf made a face similar to this when I pulled out of her and shot my load on the sheet under her. I am not ready to be a father, yet.
Why not just make the entire series about Jean and Storm. Seems like all other mutants are irrelevant by power level. Well Sinster is strong too, but not that strong.
Characters that should show up?
plotlines you wanna see?
They should clarify what the frick is the deal with Magik now. Also seemingly Dazzler will show up based on what I've seen from the prequel comic, which is good.
Feels like they added Morph just so they could say
>look we know this character exists right fellow nerds
Morph should date Iceman
Iceman is not gay or bi in this continuity
In his only appearance in this continuity his girlfriend left him for another dude.
shapeshifter no binary frickboy is for wolverine only, they are Logan's consolation gift
Morph turns into Jean and fricks Wolverine
>Morph turns into Jean and fricks Wolverine
with a MASSIVE dong
Ngl, I want to see Emma throwing a wrench into Scott and Jean's relationship.
I want Emma to ride Scott's wiener
I want Morph to turn into Jean and frick Logan
I'm curious to see how much of the post 90s material they'll adapt. Yeah they had some references to the Hellfire Gala, but for the most part they're still sticking to more classic storylines and things like Scemma are quintessential modern X-men qualities.
I want to see X-23, but I think we don't get more clone stuff till next season.
Hopefully Shadowcat, Colossus and Nightcrawler at some point join the X-Men it's not the same without them.
Shadowcat never showed in the original, the other two did but didn't join the team.
Kitty won’t show up, she was in the pilot that later became the previous animation
Kitty might show up now, Marvel genuinely thought that one of the reasons the 'Pryde of the X-Men' pilot didn't get picked up was because of Kitty (network notes were unanimously like "lose the girl, this is a boy's show" across the board), so she was barred from appearing in any cartoons or toys for years, that's also why she was taken off the main X-Men team for a long time and put in Excalibur, they literally thought Kitty/Shadowcat's presence would hurt X-Men's perception as a sellable "boys" franchise.
Best thing to ever happen to the franchise
I want to see Romulus and Daken
more Logan stuff please
>Daken
He always felt completely irrelevant considering who he is.
I like his current good guy version relation to Laura and Gabby is precious
I can't wait for the badass Wolverine set piece of this series, he's gotten the least amount of shine so far.
Probably with is that they overboard in creating Wolverine kids, they created like 20 kids in the span of about 2 years. The other make Daken less special, especially in the way Wolverine dealt with them left no logical room for Logan to emphasize with Daken and build an emotional to the readers.
So he became one note gay Wolverine
Scott Summers: Don't any of you know what it's like to be abandoned?
Also Scott Summers: I won't be a part of this, I am leaving!
Yep, that made me laugh too. I will not take part in the abandoning of my son. I'll abandon him, first.
lol, i know, right. he wants to lead the x-men, but isn't strong enough to say goodbye to his son. cyke fans did not win this episode
That shit was hilarious.
Same as
>Jean last episode: I can't read Magneto's mind, it's wrong!
>Jean this episode: *Immediately searches other Jean's memories*
She explicitly said mining for information was ok, but using it as a lie detector was wrong.
Need more screenshots of Madelyn
Why doesn't Storm know who Forge is? Hasn't X-Factor appeared on the show?
Yeah but outside of Iceman nobody else mattered, like Havok being Scott's brother is never acknowledged even though it was known beforehand that he had a brother. Forge showed up more frequently on Bishop's timeline.
Storm wasn't in the X-Factor episode
And I don't think she interacted with him during the Phalanx Covenant
And his only other appearances are in the future when he's working with Bishop
I believe only Charles, Cyclops, Wolverine, Jubilee, and Beast met Forge.
And Bishop, in the future, of course.
Gambit, Rogue, and Storm never met him in the show.
Gambit status?
>making out with Rogue in the intro
Not cucked!
This comes as a relief to me after what we saw occur between Rogue and Magneto in the last episode. They maybe in some kind of relationship, but at least it's good to know they are not fricking each other.
They're still playing it up in the episode though and Gambit's still insecure about their past relations.
It's cool that they're not dickriding Wolverine so much and give other X-Men time to shine. I think the live-action movies conditioned me to believe he was the main star of the group, but here he's used sparingly.
>Haven't seen Magik since Colossus needed help fighting Omega Red in Russia
>Morph turns into the X-men version of her even though that shouldn't have happened to her yet
Bitches don't know about their own continuity.
Still would though. Post screen shots
It just means they will never do anything with Magik
Why am I crying bros
Goodbye Nathan
I love how little of a frick Baby Nathan gave about being shoved in green acid vats
That shit must smell good and be soothing as frick.
I thought they handled the Madelyn Outside much better than the original story. Having her randomly be switched with Jean is so much less of a shitty look for Cyclops than just leaving his wife and child to be with his now alive ex again. That shit always made Scott seem like the biggest piece of shit.
I mean if you pay attention, Scott's kind of supposed to be. He parallels Magneto in that both of them present themselves a certain way because it makes them feel good and gives them justification, but when you ultimately get to the core of it they're ultimately egotistical jackasses who care more about being on a pedestal because their traumas gave them little dick syndrome.
That isn't what happened
Madelyn left Scott because he couldn't quit being a superhero like he said he would.
Was Forge really not in the old series
He was in xfactor.
He was. He was part of X-Factor and Storm knows of him because he met the others as the X-Factor spokesman.
It's just another meta episode. The best jokes in this show are the animated ones. The ''witty'' dialog doesn't work, I think the series doesn't work at all. I just want this to push them to adapt more comics, they're going the MCU ''funny'' bullshit instead of the Invincible route which is preferable. And I don't even like Invincible
Rogue and Storm's voices are honestly unbearable to listen to. It's like an over exaggeration of what a stereotypical southern woman and African immigrant with broken English would sound like.
It's unreadable in the comics too.
Storm talks normally in the comics.
She speaks in a grandiose way in the comics that is also fricking cringe.
That was early on when almost every character had hokey dialogue. It stopped almost entirely after her punk rock phase. Unless you just hate her saying goddess which isn’t even that far off from god.
Storm doesn't have an African accent though. It's always been a comically grandiose theater thing.
We'll she doesn't know him because she wasn't in that episode. And in the episode they were both in, they never interacted.
I think it's fun as a "spellcasting" thing but annoying in normal conversation
>It's always been a comically grandiose theater thing.
I kind of want to see these two team up and go into battle together because their speeches would be epic.
kek i'd watch that
>i'm going to the monorail!
>liar liar pants on FIIIIIIRE!!!!
Hell, just have her in a team up with Strange. Close enough.
Goddamn this one episode looked better than most of DC's carton in motion picture form. What the frick was their budget? Also why bring back that fricking Wolverine + Jean arc? That's literally the worst thing about the X-Men.
I think they're finally showing what the 2D/3D hybrid software they debuted with that Paperman short can really do when it's used by the right people
This episode made me optimistic that the rough spots in the early episodes just took some time to iron out. It would be great if end of the season they smoothed out most of the issues and found their groove.
Disney still puts decent to good budgets in their animated series. DC have been cheapening out for a decade now. DC animated movies used to have good budgets in their animated DC movies.
DC animated movies have such consistently terrible writing that all the bad animation was probably for the better.
Here you can tell plenty of corners were cut and it's kind of a shame because it's good otherwise. You don't say that about DC animated stuff.
>You don't say that about DC animated stuff.
3/10
I guess Jean will frick Wolverine and Scott will frick Emma
Please tell me someone's already made a webm of Pryor uncrossing her legs on the chair
Just watched episode 3.
Very weird development, actually this episode feels like an undevelopment, it was trying to undo every subplot that was going on.
>Jean Grey is a clone, but that's ok because the original magically gets her memories from the clone and the clone just fricks off
>Nathan is sent to the future so Scott and Jean no longer have a reason to leave the team
>Ororo meets some guy who will give her powers back so everything goes back to status quo
Like, what am I even supposed to look forward? Those 3 episodes didn't even have to exist, we're back to square one.
Welcome to comic book stories.
We now know the circumstances of Cable's birth. Madeline is walking around and could play a part in future shenanigan's. Magneto is still the leader of the X-men.
a bunch of stuff definitely happened and changed things permanently for the near future.
>Jean Grey is a clone, but that's ok because the original magically gets her memories from the clone and the clone just fricks off
Sure but now the one that stays won't have the same relationship with Scott, now that he had a son with her clone. It's not like they're gonna pretend none of that happened and they go back to dating like it's nothing.
>Ororo meets some guy who will give her powers back so everything goes back to status quo
Yeah but she's not getting them instantly, its a two parter, and a lot can happen in between those episodes.
You know other people can just go to Youtube for this type of shallow analysis right?
On top of what everyone else said, there’s also the Rogue/Gambit/Magneto love triangle, Roberto’s arc with Jubilee.
"some guy"
Forge is quite important to the X-Men
I wonder how they are going to spin the Forge/Storm romance and breakup or if they will just skip it?
Probably will endure just 1 episode. Nathan got the T-O from Sinister instead of Apocalypse here...
I guess they'll take lots of shortcuts
the T-O virus plot was already adapted with Apocalypse back then.
The next episode if Lifedeath and two episodes later is Lifedeath II
Almost like comics are entirely written around the idea of having arcs get soft/hard retconned so they can go back to the status quo so they can do new arcs without having to remember/deal with the consequences of old ones.
It's almost like we're not through the season yet and the full story hasn't been told!
It's almost like they have to tell some of the same stories but in different orders and with different beats because the original messed up the timeline of another multiverse world. WHAAAAT?!
Scott should have stuck with the clone. It's the less weird option.
They really crammed all the Maddie and Inferno stuff into one episode?!?
It really makes you wonder what the long-term goal is if they knocked that out so quickly. Are they setting up a return of Cable and Apocalypse? Maybe an adaptation of The Twelve? They've used Sinister and referenced Trask and Master Mold. It makes sense for an end-game.
I thought the finale was gonna be Hell in NYC with Maddie going full Goblin Queen with Sinister
That was what I thought too, but I don't see how they can do it now. Everything was resolved and self-contained. Inferno is over.
The last three episodes of the season are a three-parter called Tolerance is Extinction. Maybe it's secretly Cassandra Nova, freed when Xavier was murdered? Maybe they're leading up to E for Extinction and a big shift into adapting 00s stories?
Long term goal is to animate the Marvels post credit scene that Beast and Binary show up to introduce them to MCU
Is Carol/Binary still around ? I have vague childhood memories about an episode that Carol possesses Rogue
Cyclops charging up Bishop was cool, yes, but why didn't Cyclops just shoot the demons himself?
Bishop being able to dual-stream his lasers gives better AOE. There were a lot of little demons, so Scott would be unable to cover his back.
Why didn't Scott just do an "I want this thing off my lawn" moment and take off the visor?
He'd hit his own teammates if they handled it as an undirected-fires-everywhere-all-at-once force, and if they handled it as just his normal beam but maximum strength then you still have the same problem.
the demon were spread across the area and the other X-Men were fighting them all over the place
Once he started charging Bishop they started drawing in close, lining up to get shot
Its a metaphor for prepping the bull.
The only real explanation is that they wanted Bishop to have a cool moment before he fricks off to the future.
Giving Maddie magic this early and out of the blue seems really stupid.
I understand the series is made for normies but i don't think it's going to work well constructing characters in the long run.
She didn't have actual magic in the show
She was just using her telepathy to frick with their heads and make them think they were being attacked by demons. And using her telekinesis for any physical force
The idea that this could make the normies see what happened to the X-Men in the 90s tickles me.
People ask why the modern X-Men don’t match from their childhood and now they get the decline from Claremont’s constant stringing along to weird bickering clique of racists.
00s X-Men was better than the latter half of the Claremont era.
said nobody with a functioning frontal lobe.
Morrison, Whedon, Ellis, Brubaker, PAD, etc. all had excellent runs. If you stretch a little into the 10s you get runs like Remender's X-Force and Gillen's Uncanny.
If you'd rather read books like X-Tinction Agenda that's OK, I just think you have shit taste.
>Morrison
>Ellis
>Whedon
>"Excellent Runs"
Fitting trips because only a homosexual from hell could type such lies.
I'd take a Quinton Quire arc anyday over homosexual Pyror.
You've already made your point. You don't have to beat us over the head with your homosexualry.
>Brubaker
At least you tried Satan
Deadly Genesis was bad but Rise and Fall was good. Or as good a book starring Havok can ever be.
That post-Rise and Fall era where we got Brubaker passing his plots and characters onto Fraction who then passed his plots and characters onto Gillen was always one that felt weird to me. Like, who was actually the driving force behind Rightclops?
>they did a Rick and Morty
So does the opening change with every episode now?
Currently, yes
Hope so, that shit is tight. Gives me Goosebumps everytime.
That intro was a big part of my childhood and I havent felt connection to my childhood since this intro.
Is this the first Marvel animated series in a while that isn't Spider related to have an animation budget higher than $3 and a bag of chips?
Is she a augmented clone? How is she doing this?
Doesn't matter, magical girl transformations are hot.
>pandering to adult woman fetishists
>adult woman
as opposed to child woman?
They are just making references to an old comic event without caring about any internal consistency.
Animators forgot to make Madelyne Pryor boobs bigger because she's breastfeeding but since the show only has gays and trannies producing that detail they'll never put it in because it's not part of their world
This, one has milk-filled breasts and the other spent a long time locked up in Sinister's prison, she should be thinner, but somehow she hasn't lost any weight, and the clone's milk-filled breasts are the same size as the malnourished Jean lol when you see that the animation director and the showrunner sucks
You guys say this as if any animator adds this sort of detail in their shows.
NTA but it stands out because the comics have been keeping track of that pretty much since X-Factor became a thing, Madelyne is almost always drawn curvier and with bigger breasts than Jean because she went through a pregnancy, that and her hair usually being a more true-red shade than Jean's more orange-red is actually startlingly consistent across about 30 years of comics, so it stands out.
I get why, they wanted it to be a "mystery" but that's moronic and the way they handed this plot was actually probably more moronic than the actual comics.
No. The only distinctly different things about Maddie and Jean were their hairstyles but that was back when Maddie was a different person originally. Once she was written to be Jean's clone, they looked identical going forward.
>T. Hasn't read a comic with both of them in it ever apparently.
Apparently you haven't if this is what you think. The only difference between them is what they wear, not their physical appearance. Unlike morons I do read the source, and now placebo through fanarts.
*not
>Dumb Porn addict gets pandered to and still isn't satisfied
Give these morons an inch and they take a mile.
pls tell me there is a mega for tihs show or some where to DDL from that isnt torrents
Is she naked and just projecting her clothes?
why did I not notice it was a Sailor Moon reference earlier?
No relation to Normans group? Why did she call herself that? Is is related to Magik? Also they uncensored Black Queens outfit meaning Emma will stay the same.
Super hotties with 3 frames of animation that is just their breasts moving around.
One of the demons from Limbo, the Hell-dimension that Magik ruled, made a deal with Maddie after Scott had abandoned her to go hang out with X-Factor
Maddie got a huge amount of magical knowledge and power in the deal, which activated the dormant mutant powers she got from Jean, and she was able to cast a spell that brought Limbo to New York, demons roamed the streets, inanimate objects turned into demons, humans were getting corrupted or killed left and right.
To cap it off and make the spell permanent Maddie was going to sacrifice 12 mutant babies (including baby Nathan), but the combined forces of the X-Men and X-Factor stopped her
Magik was also involved and sacrificed herself to end the Inferno, ending up reverted to the 8 year old little girl she was before she was trapped in Limbo
Magik came back years later, and then so did Maddie
Most recently Magik got sick of ruling Limbo so she decided to just give the responsibility to Maddie who almost immediately decided to do Inferno 2 by teaming up with Ben Reilly
For what it's worth Inferno 2 was way past the point when anyone in NYC cared about invasions and she didn't even kill anyone that time, nor was she even apparently intending to other than the X-Men. We had an entire thing where entire sections of the city were taken over by Knull and nobody gave a shit two blocks over less than a few months before.
Nobody in universe gave a shit and just wrote it off as a cry for help more or less.
It's cause she's gonna be GOBLIN DEEZ NUTS
It's a Labyrinth reference, David Bowie the Goblin King.
So, why does she call herself the goblin queen?
Are there three Jeans?
We counting Morph?
Regular, Phoenix/Dark and Maddie
Peter Parker and Scott Summers having drinks together knowing after knowing their ginger haired lover was a clone.
Wait, I thought Peter got cloned, when did MJ get one?
Peter married a water clone of MJ in the TAS. It's how we got the infamous NOOOO scream.
this is why cdb is the best spidey va ever. man really gives it his all
I hope 97 really does well. Maybe we can get cameos from the other Marvel heroes in that universe.
They might bring back Spider-Man TAS.
I would cry and nut at the same time.
would you rather have that or spectacular spidey
I want to see a version of the Avengers make another appearance, that's not United They Stand
Hahahaha, they are no match for DOOM!
When/where did Black Panther appear?
Fantastic Four, Season 2. Prey of the Black Panther. Keith David voiced him.
Rogue who?
We got a better big tiddy redhead now bois
Heretic. You never deserved Rogue.
I never wanted hillbilly Hera, babe
booba goth mind control lady all day every way
Are we getting the Storm/Forge romance where he treats her like shit and dumps her for Mystique?
I'm going to be honest, I think that "Forge dumped Storm for Mystique" has always left me more baffled than Rogue and Magneto's romance ever did.
Scott Lobdell was a fricking hack who literally only started writing X-Men just because Marvel was desperate for somebody to replace Claremont after he quit for being fricked over, everything Lobdell wrote shouldn't be considered canon anymore.
Lobdell was just fricking what Claremont started, as when Claremont killed Destiny off in his run, he explicitly had Destiny tell Forge to frick the dyke out of Mystique and make her his bride.
she dumped him, after she found out his tech is what made the gun that de powered her.
later they get sucked into an alt world where they could be gods and Storm is like, nah. Forge is all for it, he loves her.
After they leave alt world, Ford rebounds with Mystique (kinda, sorta, not really but kinda?) while Mystique is crazy out of her mind (taking care of her as he did storm because hes captain save-a-hoe)
Cinemaphile horny and reductive
What a fricking chad. 70 years old and still at it.
No one seems to have mentioned it, but that's savage land Rogue and Magneto.
Why did Nathan get sent to the future? They want to cure him of a virus that makes him invulnerable? Why did Sinister retreat? Can he not kick their ass?
>Why did Nathan get sent to the future?
Because they are referencing what happens in the comics.
Have you ever heard of a character named Cable, per chance?
>Have you ever heard of a character named Cable, per chance?
They never meet him in the show or Cable is unaware of his parents?
>They never meet him in the show
he's in the first season in the original Genosha arc
remember this is a continuation of the 90s cartoon
Cable is aware. There's a scene where computer is trying to give him info and he stops it at Scott and Jean and says he already knows about them.
>Why did Sinister retreat? Can he not kick their ass?
Considering what Cyclops did to him in the second season finale of the original show, no he cannot.
Why can't they cure Nathan and then bring him back to present? It's not a one way trip.
We don't know anon, it just happened and then the episode ended.
I've never touched the X-Men books because I always fricking hated the muties whenever there was a crossover event written by the X-desk, but this cartoon is making me interested in them finally. What are some good starting points/recommended reads for
>X-Men generally
>Gambit
>Cyclops
>Bishop
>Cable
Just start with Giant Size X-Men #1 and keep reading through the Claremont Uncanny X-Men run. When Claremont leaves, stop.
I think people can just start with Claremont then jump to whatever seems interesting from any other writer.
For Cable, you can read Cable #1 (1993) and later Cable & Deadpool
Generally comic readers hated the '92 cartoon, this one just follows up from where that one left.
>Jean still loves Scott but is mad he didn't notice she was gone and flaked on baby Nathan AND now she knows Logan genuinely loves her and doesn't just want to snikt her bub
What's next? I feel the show is shilling Scott way too much for Logan to stand a chance.
I dont know but that scene literally has her immediately go towards scott. Itll be miled for drama but shell decide to go back to scott. I just hope there isnt anything like a kiss or jean saying she loves logan too. No one wants that except the cyclops gays that think getting cucked is worth it for emma
Logan only has a chance if the current strain between Scott and Jean's relationship is too much and Scott starts pounding Emma Frost's cheeks instead
Preferably while Jean walks in on them
ENTER
I never understood the choice for Dazzler's hair color but they should bring her back with a full version of Body Heat
>the magneto shitter has to resort to AI-posting
sad
Enjoy my sloppy seconds, Gambit.
Magneto and Cyclops hi-fiving as they rail Rogue and Madelyn from behind.
Gambit and Jean Grey watch and cry like cucks together
Rogue will NEVER cheat on Chadbit.
She walk in his office and then they booked the entire month in the training room.
>and then they booked the entire month in the training room
are you stupid
Sure thing.
Which prompt?
He recorded them having sex and he burned it on a CD to sell it on the black market (it was the 90s)
Still from the 1990s X-Men cartoon. Rogue helps Magneto buckle his belt.
Yearly reminder that cable's the clone and strife is the real Nathan.
Get out of here, 90s Spider-Editorial!
Episode moved too fast, appreciate them keeping Madelyne hot, Morph is definitely gay now but not Wolverine, god I hope they don't go there just bring back one of his asian girlfriends.
>Morph
>Gay
Impossible.
Gay is liking the same sex
Morph is non-binary which means it's not gay cause he's not a dude.
Checkmate.
Bratty morph, Logan's gotta do some correction on that they/them (p)bussy
>Fire Made Flesh
More like Fire made Flash (animation)
Link?
If Sinister can clone Jean surely he can clone Scott as well and have them frick to produce a kid? Alternatively he can vat grow a kid straight up using both their genetic material which I am sure he has? Why do this convoluted plot?
>Alternatively he can vat grow a kid straight up using both their genetic material which I am sure he has? Why do this convoluted plot?
>Expecting logic from a guy who's name is literally MR. FRICKING SINISTER.
No, I'm good with what we got. I'll go with the Sinister sends a clone to be impregnated over Sinister tries to get some of Scott's jizz, any day of the week.
He did a test tube version of Cable in Age of Apocalypse that was birthed from an artificial womb (Nate Grey, aka X-Man).
But in general, OG Sinister wanted a natural baby because he's all about bloodlines and genealogy and basically creating a master race of mutants via manipulating powerful mutants to breed. Combined with Claremont's original vision for Mr Sinister being a crazy pants 100 year old mutant stuck in the body of a ten year old (due to him aging one year every ten years) that was gay for Scott. And tie into Louise Simonson's original planned version of the Twelve storyline: where we would find out that 99% of all mutants are actually sterile and can never have kids and the idea that Scott having a child with a clone of Jean providing that mutants could create life (and the question of whether or not Maddie counted as a "real person" or just a breeding clone) determining if the Celestials either wipe out mutantkind or or let them live.
And then Krakoa era X-men turned Mister Sinister into Evil Mad Scientist Deadpool.
It's all about presentation. I mean look at how the man dresses.
How did the Jean clone get demon summoning powers?
She's just playing with others' minds.
so is this hellhole board finally admitting this is a good series?
It's good. It could turn into woke slop any time, but for now, it's good.
It's a good 3 episodes, so far it's 0 filler, almost straight from the comicbook direct continuation. It can become Samurai Jack at any moment.
>Jubilee episode next
No filler for now.
The smart bubs realized it after first 2 episodes
goblin queen killing all the chud haters
What if Morph has a crush on Logan and to be with he will turn himself into a girl? Finally the gay drama we deserve
He'll have to turn himself into Jean but the moment he does so he'll activate Scott's passive turning Morph gay for him instead.
The Mystique and Destiny approach?
It's dead Jim
>>X-Men ’97 Ratings Bomb On Disney+
>>The numbers are for the first TWO episodes released which aren't as good as 'What If...?'
This one clearly had less budget than that so it might not be all that bad, but whatever Disney gonna Disney.
It's fine if we get one good season. It's not like we need another 5, just one that gives the original an ending.
The original already had an ending though. If they're going to do this at all they might as well have the chance to take it as far as they can go.
What does ratings bomb even mean? Is everything that doesn't beat "What If..." a bomb? Disney says it got 4M views. Better Call Saul averaged 3M views. So was Better Call Saul a bomb?
Why does Morph know Sinisters address which is conveniently also in NY state?
I think this may be one of my favorite depictions of Scott and im a big Cyclops fan
>Jean reads Jean's mind and sees that Jean is very dense
Even Jean don’t like
Imagine if Madelynn started lactating during the battle?
>you will never see this in the movies
Good. Frick the movies.
>current year
>still thinking live action is an upgrade
Live action is what killed Marvel, comics, etc.
Can we talk about how fricking terrible Jean was in the original series?
Here's a supercut for your consideration.
Jean has always been fricking useless anon. Even Claremont who had a boner for her never made her useful unless she was flipping the frick out.
Design, music, and animation is amazing.
Why is the voice acting is so shit on some characters though? It’s so rough after coming from Invincible.
>Why is the voice acting is so shit on some characters though? It’s so rough after coming from Invincible.
You're stepping on a land mine without even noticing. Many of the voice actors in X97 are reprising roles they had nearly 30 yrs ago. I love the voice acting as I watched the original series back when it debuted. Don't you dare shit on the voice acting.
Being old doesn’t matter. Voice in BTAS came out in the 90s as well, but it was never bad.
Voices get worse with age.
Rogue is the only one you can hear the VA's age imho.
The others sound pretty good to me.
>while Madelyn was fricking around in the mansion, Mags and Rogue are out on "patrol"
why? its like they wanted the 3 gambitgays to an hero
ENTER…my FUARKING HERO CHADclops
how can someone dress with something like this and not only looking good but also becoming the best design of the character remains a mistery.
will he smash?
Too early.
my man cyke is going to be vindicated in this cartoon then
He and Jean are probably going to be having problems
Between him not realizing he was married to a clone
And her feeling distance because she isn't sure how much of her past is her own, and being drawn to Logan because she now knows how much he feels about her
If they do the Scott/Emma affair now, while Jean and Logan have their thing, it could make Scott look like less at fault
Similar to how he wasn't really at fault for the Maddie stuff here
>still forcing the jean logan ship when while logan was trying his best to charm jean she immediately thought of scott
nah, logan will get morph
Eventually. But they have to drag out the soap opera relationship drama
>Old guy and a shapeshifter
This is like that other couple, but the relatively static one is a he
>she immediately thought of scott
Well, he literally cried for help in her brain.
It's settling for sloppy seconds, but what's stopping Logan and clone Jean from getting together?
If clone Jean wanted to "be herself" and not a copy of Jean then she'll try her hardest to move on from Scott, which is what she's already doing.
>Clone Jean
Just Call her Madelyn Pryor
Nah Demayo is a huge Jottgay so Scemma and Jogan aren't happening this season
>emma frost pulls the 'ol switcheroo pretending to be jean
>jean is fed up with him not being able to tell psychics apart (racist)
>she burst into logans bedroom drunk and looking for warm canadian arms to hold her
>he's balls deep in Her
>but she's staring at herself
>He's fricking morph transformed into Jean
>MEN ARE ALL THE SAME
it writes itself
Wait until Storm finds out the gun that took her powers was invented by Forge before it was stolen.
She’s going to be pissed.
Eh... I'd rather they just go the route of Forge telling Storm that the gun used to strip her of her powers was stolen from him upfront and from the get go, with Forge being open with the fact that he explicitly created it and used it himself, to help remove mutant powers from mutants who were disfigured by their mutations or had powers that ruined their chances of a normal life that came to him to explicitly do that.
Would make for a better dynamic of Storm being made to stop her crying and b***hing about what happened to her since the tech used to strip her of her power was created to help mutants who weren't as lucky as her have normal lives and make her realize that it's not the end of the world that she's a normie now. And make for a good excuse plot for Magneto to go back to being evil and kill Rogue/Magneto by having Magneto try and kill Forge when he offers to use the tech on Rogue (after confirming her stealing Carol's power warped her DNA to make her super strength/flight/invulnerabilty powers separate from her mutant powers meaning she'd keep them once she lost her mutant powers) in terms of Magneto outing himself as an abusive lover who wants to force Rogue to keep her powers so that the only man she'll ever be able to make out with or frick be Magneto.
kinda wanna frick madelyne ngl
Scott gets seduced away from Jean by:
-Madelyne
-Betsy
-Emma
-Colleen
-Carol
Jean Grey: the ultimate cuckquean?
did he ever get it on with x-23 or magik?
>During an interview with Collider, Cyclops voice actor Ray Chase was asked if there's "a scene or an episode in the future where you're excited to hear the reaction from the people."
>"For me, absolutely. It's maybe not excitement, it’s more just curiosity. There's something that we've been keeping from you guys for a while that I am just like, 'Whoa what is the reaction gonna be?' It's gonna be wild. I was moved when I got to that part in the script, and went, 'Oh!' It's pretty crazy."
https://collider.com/x-men-97-jennifer-hale-ray-chase/
What do you guys think? Is it just Scott finding out Cable is adult Nathan, or are they cooking something else?
>they cooking something else?
X-Cutioner's Song.
I don't see it because they already very loosely adapted that. Xavier was shot, but by Gyrich, not Stryfe.
Even better, they only need Stryfe to kidnap Jean and Scott.
>Horror episode
Someone should make an X-Men horror movie.
Wasn't that New Mutants?
I don't like morph's inclusion. I'd much rather have magik, psylocke, colossus, angel, iceman etc. in the show as actual characters than cameos.
The thing with Magik is that she showed up in the original but never showed her powers nor that she was joining the X-Men.
Yeah, but Morph turned into her in her X-men outfit, so that would imply she's joined the team at some point in the months between the original ending in this.
It would be really fricking weird if Morph just pulled that look out of his ass without that version of Magik existing
They released some promo art a while back about the episode where Jubilee and Sunspot get stuck in a videogame and part of the episode is animated like 8-bit
And Magik was one of the characters shown
So we might get some answers about her then
>gets Magik's soul sword(?)
So what is Morph's deal? Can he actually replicate powers or is he like Mystique and it's all just extentions of his body?
The latter.
My question is am I forgetting something because wasn't Morph fricking dead in the cartoon.
He returned later and rejoined the team.
He was shown to be alive at the end of season 1, moron.
From my understanding, Morph has weak, short range molecule manipulation, which is why he can change his clothing as well. The weapons he creates are just the molecules as strong as he can manifest, but they're not as strong as legit Adamantium or whatever Colossus is made of.
What's funny abt this is that we get a more feminine version of Morph w/makeup right b4 they transform completely into Magik. This show is too based. The ppl complaining has to realize that the woke is down their throats and literally coming at this point.
Watching X-Men '97, I can say one thing for sure - this is the first capeshit thing in a long while that actually got the aesthetic of capeshit right. It's very cinematic, flamboyant, and colorful. Extremely hammy too, which fits characters as ridiculous as these, and feels earnest.
It rushes through the story like a motherfricker, and that's a a problem, but otherwise, it reminds me of what capes used to be.
This. Like the way Beast name dropped Sinister was so jammy but delivered with such seriousness and sincerity. They understand what they’re working on and are all in on it. It’s refreshing after all the live action films that constantly tried to wink at you or hope you’ll laugh alongside it over ridiculous cape stuff like Doc Ock’s name.
*hammy
Cyclops going "Give em' the forecast" was the moment I knew it was going to be alright.
>It rushes through the story like a motherfricker, and that's a a problem, but otherwise, it reminds me of what capes used to be.
It doesn't really feel that way to me. These episodes are 5 minutes or so longer than the episodes of the original show.
Yep. When people were getting flack for being afraid that the series would focus too much on contemporary politics, they didn't mean that X-Men was never political. The internet generally way overemphasizes how "political" X-Men actually was and I think that was exacerbated by how much focus the movies put on "mutant=minority". The reality though is that most of the famous X-Men stories were scifi fantasy stuff like Dark Phoenix, Mister Sinister, Phalanx Covenant, and The Brood.
I really wish it would slow the frick down and breathe but that's how I felt about all the Marvel 90s shows
I think they were afraid of being kneecapped with 1 season early on. Hopefully once they recognized what they had on their hands and that this could become more than a desperate cash grab, the writing team could slow down a bit and do longer arcs.
This season is ending with a three-parter.
Oh, well there you have it then.
It's not just the original show - Claremont's X-Men was briskly paced in general. Honestly, I'm loving it. One of the things that gave the comic its character was it's ability to tell these fantastical stories mixed in with soap opera dramatics and pop culture imagery, all at a breakneck pace, hinting at depth but staying light footed and fun. I've only seen episode three of X-Men '97, but aside from some minor gripes, it's pitch perfect. The episodic approach is also a welcome relief from the serialized boredom that has hypnotized TV audiences in the past twenty years. Countless hours of media designed to waste as much of your time as possible, sitting in front a screen. This show doesn't need to slow down. Let them play.
Comics back then were all more compressed. Claremont was actually on the slower side, being very compressed but still necessitating multi parters. He also pioneered the “quiet” issue, which Saturday morning cartoons don’t have.
A strength and weakness of the show is that they are trying to recreate the feel of the original show, which also had a brisk pacing.
They might change it in later seasons once they realize people are genuinely into this beyond the superficial nostalgia.
Why does the audio sound so bad? Also the voice actors are phoning it in like crazy
Lots of them are very old.
It wasn’t bad but this episode would have worked better as a two parter, feels like they rushed through this whole story quite quickly
>literally no one wants logan and jean
>Its entirely likely to happen we just dont know to what extent
>Emma is showing up
I hate this so much. Ill be anxious the whole time because I actually love 90s xmen unlike the trash its become. Marvel just cant let go ffs
A brazilian penis will be inside Jubilee This season. His lusophone sperm will fertilize her ovum.
Honestly that would be rad to actually age them and have them live normal lives; kids are always just hyper grown to keep the women on the battlefield and out of traditional rasing
After how long Cinemaphile has been asking for an evil cake magical girl transformation sequence done seriously, Cinemaphile got it first
>Magneto has a psionic blocking helmet
>Doesn't use it against Jean
Did you miss the part where she fricked him up without using her telepathy?
Are they ever going to use a different term then mutants to describe the speicifc cwlwstial made mutants? I awlays thought it was kind of stupid that "Mutant" really referes to a certain kind of Mutant but not shit like the inhumans or some other kind of gene alteration.
Though I guess the branding is a bit too tied to the hip with the x-men now on a meta level.
I just watched an old episode with the Avengers shown being specifically referenced as “superhumans”. The episode was part one of “One Man’s Worth”.
And they have shown other superheroes before, but weren’t really allowed to call out their names for legal reasons. I actually just learned that they had to sneak in a cameo of Black Panther by listing his character design as a nondescript “African Mutant #8”, yet the showrunners went out of their way to show that he wasn’t just a random background character when he showed up for a few seconds in the “Sanctuary” two parter.
And Captain America is in the crappy 5th season, but I never saw that one.
>And Captain America is in the crappy 5th season, but I never saw that one.
Do yourself a favor and watch it if you can. It's one of the best episodes of the season.
Are there any problems the X-men face that aren't ultimately caused by Jean Grey.
Love Jean. Telekinesis bestest and coolest power
>Rogue gets her body nerfed
>Based Jean gets buffed
Good.
is this a sequel/reboot of the 97 series? i almost thought it was a digital remaster but it seems to be new content just in the same art style as the original series?
It's a sequel that takes place I think a year after the end of the previous series.
man, i wish there was a digital remaster of the original series
If 97 is successful enough, they may do a remastered edition of the original series to capitalize off of its popularity.
>off of
moron
It's a new series that's a direct sequel to the original 90's X-Men series.
Waiting for the inevitable episode where Morph turns into Jean to dupe Logan into snikting his butthole
Cool gay fantasy from your homosexual brain. Even if that happens, you still made that up in your head. You thought up gay fanfiction, you fricking wiener-smoking fudgepacker.
Imagine leaving this for a serial cheater like Jean Grey or a plastic bimbo like Emma Frost. What the hell was Scott thinking?!
He was vulnerable and confused.
Sex with Madelyne
Sex with Madelyne
Sex with Madelyne
Frick I want to be her son and commit steamy passionate wincest lovemaking at hot springs with Madelyne and aunt Jean with a side of Rogue aaaaggghhhhhhh
Sex with Jean sex with Madelyne sex with Rogue sex with Storm frick frick fuuuuuucccckkkkkk
