Frick that. The only time i've seen Bruce get paired with Barbara is in Bruce Timm's head canons. Every other adaptation he's a father figure and a friend to her. The more kino choice is for Batman to fall in love with a criminal like Talia or Catwoman.

I don't remember any specific stories off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure I've read that take in a few stories, normally with one of two reasons. One is that it's an impossible task from the start and he only does it either due to mental illness/coping mechanism/wanting to at least try to save some people, or he actively made the situation worse by escalating things and effectively causing the rise of supervillains in Gotham. Pretty sure the second reason came up in BTAS episode.

Killing Joke is a great story and it defined most deeper things people love about Joker as a character in other media. People who just hate Joker for petty reasons liking taking attention away from others diminish it to be contrarian. Moore never hated the story for its quality but for the effect it had on comics for normalising darkness instead of just being an exception to the rule, and now every comic story is serious and not made for kids anymore. Like Oppenheimer hating his bomb, he didn't hate it because it was a bad bomb or didn't do the job well.
Like I'm sure these same people worship BTAS, yet even Paul Dini sees that as the most potent characterisation for Joker. Someone who exists to be nihilistic and cruel in contrast to Batman's ideal of hope, an indulgence of hating everyone and seeing yourself as a victim of life. It's a great aspect of his character and a gigantic part of his appeal, even if some people wanna deny that.

          Anonymous

I liked that this story put it a little on the nose that when Dini started relating more to Joker he just became lazier and more depressed and refused to do anything

I hate how he missed a lot of the lore of Wonder Woman. And basically made her some naive mommy's girl who went to man's world and came back as a bawd. She and Supergirl basically have the same personality unless Wonder Woman is in front of another woman so she can appear wise and learned.

I will say it is cute for Wonder Woman and everyone from Paradise Island to have a crush on Batman. Wayyyy better than her falling in love with Superman. But that's at the expense of Steve Trevor.
