>first seconds in the trailer >some cheesy overused trailer piano starts playing
Aaand they totally missed the point of the series, total shit incoming
>generic disingenuous incel cope. it looks incredibly expensive, they actually built all the ships.
If you showed this to me 10 years ago, I would have assumed it was a fan project. A really really good fan project, but a fan project all the same
looks about on par with the Megaman fan film or the Sonic fan film, just with a couple more years of cgi improvement.
Those $0.02 aren't worth it, man. Quit and get a real job.
It's a another Witcher and Death Note, their target audience are the people who don't like the source material or don't even know the source material exists
People who want to get into One Piece but complain that it is "too long" or that the "artstyle looks too goofy"
So basically every fricking normie ever.
I wouldn't say never, but One Piece's action, setting and style are all very exaggerated and cartoony. It might be one of the worst choices to try to do live action.
I have never seen a single episode of this show and just learned what the plot was. Then I found out there are 14 seasons and they apparently, still have not found One Piece?
>garp takes out rocks >roger is dicking around in the background just like buggy did at the paramount war >just like buggy roger gets a huge amount of unearned infamy from doing nothing
>fought was WB >canonically lost >one of the defining features is his crew running away all the time and roger got a reputation as always making sure his crew was away and safe before running as well
We have no fricking idea what level of strength roger has. It’s very likely not a huge amount though. He had friends due to charisma and smarts, not necessarily strength
You don't need to watch it. It's the same premise for every arc. >Island and it's villagers are terrorized >Luffy and his crew fight evil oppressors and wins >Rinse and Repeat
95% is the same premise of them liberating islands and always winning because of plot armor. And the rest are slight variations. Also, within that 5% it is also filled with repetitive sad pitiful flashback for each character. None of the characters ever having any contrasting themes for their past. All the crew were victims, really bad writing.
NO! Sometimes they have to rescue a crewmate or a sibling. And there's a million subplots going on at once.

>I don't like One Piece >I barely read or watched any of it >I have strong opinions about it I share with others that also don't like it (but haven't read it)
Weird life.
>Impel down >Sabaody (pre or post timeskip) >Thriller Bark >Marineford >Reverie >Water 7
None of those involve evil oppressors being defeated through plot armor and innocent villagers being saved. A pirate crew is saved in Thriller Bark I guess.
When Roger was executed Luffy wasn't even born. The premise of the show is that the One Piece is pretty fricking hard to find you now Luffy is only missing a single piece to create the map that leads to the One Piece and is the closest to getting to the One Piece ever since Roger in the manga right now. One Piece is also in its final arc. So if you wanna get into One Piece before the grande finale and the story literally can never be enjoyed like this again... You know right now would be the time to get into it
Are you guys stupid or intentionally being obtuse? The one piece castings seems consistent with what oda wanted. Oda said that if one piece happened in the real world that they would come from specific parts of the world such as Luffy being from Brazil.
Did Oda also say that everyone had to be butt ugly? Oh right he actually doesn't really give a frick, he already made his money from the deal and he's living on easy street stretching out the ending of the manga to 2050.
The guy playing Luffy seems pretty enthusiastic, I like that. The whole "I'm sensing some hostility among the crew" is so out of character though, it's probably going to suck.
imo a low budget netflix adaptation of an anime can only work if the writers and director are complete goofballs (like The Room) but i think modern writers are too self-aware and have too much ego to do camp correctly. hence instead of stupid nonsensical visual & practical comedy, we'll get quips, and instead of stupid characters acting serious, we'll get serious characters acting stupid while winking at the camera
Why are clothes so hard to do? I've noticed it with a lot of cosplay pictures too. Something about the clothes really throws me off. Like they're too clean, or there's no weight to them, or that they're made from some weird material. I don't know what it is.
>Why are clothes so hard to do?
Because they don't care. Cosplayers put in the effort. These buttholes don't. The clothes don't look lived in or iconic. Just flat and clean and kinda stiff. But it's always hilarious how the immediate response is usually >WELL COSPLAYERS AREN'T ACTORS. AND YOU CAN'T COSPLAY AND THEN BE EXPECTED TO MOVE AROUND AND DO STUNTS!
Which is the stupidest fricking thing I have ever been told. You can't develop an outfit that looks good that someone can be mobile in? Are you serious? Faye Valentine's stupid actress Daneilla Pineda from that terrible Netflix Cowboy Bebop legitimately tried to use that as an excuse. Everyone shit down her neck for it and her show was canceled in the same month it debuted.
Everything about Faye was a major frick-up for Cowboy Bebop. Every single unnecessary change done to her character. She wasn't the only prominent character thoroughly assassinated.
lmao, you and that anon are not on the same page, his point was that this show(like cosplayers) have this weird look to them where the clothes feel like fake clothes rather than real clothes, like a wig looking like fake hair rather than real hair. It just looks and feels 'off' in both cases.
He hates the wardrobe choices selected for this Live Action anime. I do too. Only I take the opportunity to lambast another production and then go into why I personally hate it. Stop trying to play referee for an imageboard anon.

the reason why i stopped reading one piece was because the western inspired designs kept getting viewer and viewer while the generic japanese inspired designs become more and more, it kinda made it looks generic and no longer unique.
also villains were no longer as creative and unique as time went on
I'd forgive it if this was done by japanese with japanese casting, I'm already used to their live-action goofiness, but when westerners do it, looks cringe
>anime characters doing anime moves/poses/speech patterns >fine >3dpd characters doing anime poses and movements >cringe every single time unless it's some 240p video from some 00s anime con
I don't understand what people don't get about this. I don't even watch one piece and the pose is telling me it's going to be like those jap live actions movies. I would be embarrassed to be a part of this in any form.
How the frick are they going to cram all of East Blue into 8 episodes and not feel rushed? I think it was confirmed that Baratie and Arlong Park are two episodes each, so maybe they can pull it off. Those two require the most air time since you need to >establish Baratie and Sanji >introduce Gin and Don Krieg >Sanji’s backstory with Zeff >introduce Mihawk and the 7 Warlords of the Sea >possibly also Zoro’s backstory at this point >Nami stealing Going Merry
and then >introduce Cocoyashi villagers >introduce and explain Fishmen >show more Marine corruption >Nami’s backstory >presumably a whole bunch of fight scenes
all I’ve got to say is they’d better not frick up the “Help me” scene. I guarantee some Netflix landwhale saw a woman asking a man for help and started ripping their bright pink hair out, but that’s not even the point and it’s one of the best scenes in East Blue.
>first seconds in the trailer
>some cheesy overused trailer piano starts playing
Aaand they totally missed the point of the series, total shit incoming
It's Netflix. Did you really expect anything different?
Why is Shanks not a redhead?
because he's not a real ginger
Have you missed the memo? Redheads have gotten swapped out of every remake and adaptation in the last decade or thereabout.
Redheads don’t exist in Hollywood.
I’m shocked they didn’t make him black.
Black person cant be caprain
Lmao Sanji actor would be perfect as Franky
He looks like Enel.
I just learned Sanji's first name
It’s his last name actually, Japanese naming format
It's actually a huge spoiler. Sanji is from a royal family. He is the third brother of four, hence his name San = 3
>Buggy and Usopp are the only good looking cast members
what did they mean by this?
>some cheesy overused trailer piano starts playing
yeah I'm so sick of every trailer being exactly the same. it's so fricking obnoxious.
I'm sure Hollywood will start being more creative when the public stops watching rehashes of exactly the same movies again and again.
Then here comes the WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>Then, record scratch.
>Silence, and...
>DREAMIN', DON'T GIVE IT UP LUFFY
Soul.
I think it looks great
its cringe at best
like the source material?
No you dont
why this nibba look 35 when he 19
high T
latinx dna
Luffy shaves his armpits and wears flip flops. Not gonna watch.
GIVE IT UP
GIVE IT UP
GIVE IT UP
GIVE IT UP
YOOOOOOOOOOO
YAYO YAYO YAYOOOO
HIS NAMES ZOLO HE'S LIKE A SAMURAI
>HE'S LIKE A SAMURAI
frick 4kids they spoil us Wano
AND THE
L
A
D
Y
NAMI'S NOT SHY
the real one piece is going to be the multicultural friends they made along the way isn't it
Years later…from what?
Cowboy Bebop live action
I dont care about that at all. It just looks as cheap as I expected. I don’t expect it to get a season 3
>It looks cheap
generic disingenuous incel cope. it looks incredibly expensive, they actually built all the ships.
>generic disingenuous incel cope. it looks incredibly expensive, they actually built all the ships.
If you showed this to me 10 years ago, I would have assumed it was a fan project. A really really good fan project, but a fan project all the same
No, you wouldn't. You just live to feel triggered and outraged because you are a chud.
Like I said I don’t mind the cast, so how am I a chud?
You do mind the cast, you just don't want to admit it now because you don't want to expose yourself as a chud.
This is what schizophrenia looks like.
Seek help, troon.
Whoa! Netflix shills are out in full force
looks about on par with the Megaman fan film or the Sonic fan film, just with a couple more years of cgi improvement.
Those $0.02 aren't worth it, man. Quit and get a real job.
Looks kino. Will pirate like i pirate everything About One Piece since 15 years ago
what happened 15 years ago ?
dad left the Black person house
Foxy's boxing license was revoked as he was caught cheating with a weapon.
Why would you watch this when anime exists?
Seriously, who is the intended audience?
It's a another Witcher and Death Note, their target audience are the people who don't like the source material or don't even know the source material exists
Black person the source material is like 1000ep long, there no way for me to enjoy it lmao I aint wasting 100 hours on some shonen shit for kids
>Source is episodes
Where'd you find this fricker?
Then why do you even want to watch it at all?
same problem with cowboy bebop, no one cares then
then whats the point of adapting the source material at all?
something like the lord of the rings movies adapted its source material with care and made a lot of money and people liked it
People who want to get into One Piece but complain that it is "too long" or that the "artstyle looks too goofy"
So basically every fricking normie ever.
there's nothing to learn, don't fricking adapt anime into western live action
why not
ending was shit
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII NEED TO KNOW NOW!
Then it's just like the manga
manga was already an adaptation of the novel
How does the Manga end
Axe e-girl dies, Chad lives on to fight and win the war.
was worth it to see Tom Cruise killed multiple times on the big screen.
LNs are a goldmine for Hollywood but unironically. Even isekai.
I wouldn't say never, but One Piece's action, setting and style are all very exaggerated and cartoony. It might be one of the worst choices to try to do live action.
Some anime is almost absurdly adaptable
Remember when Guillermo del Toro was going to adapt Urasawa's Monster for HBO and then nothing happened?
He would've fricked it up somehow.
Then he got hungry and forgot about it
is Urasawa one of the rare mangaka to have almost all his work adapted to anime or live action
No but he has more hits than most people.
but unlike other mangaka he tackled on different genre like sport, comedy, thriller, mystery, mecha ...
Impressive how a still image can convey that is a terrible actress
You just know she isn't trying.
Why did they make Luffy look like a 50 year old Mexican heroin junkie?
*shifts to fifth gear*
>Welcome to ouch, motherfricker!
i didnt watch the cartoon
Umm its called ANIME.. Baka gaijin kokujin
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA THAT IS SO FRICKING CURSED!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never seen a single episode of this show and just learned what the plot was. Then I found out there are 14 seasons and they apparently, still have not found One Piece?
the one piece was the friends they made along the way
I didn't even know there was another attempt at a Netflix adaptation until this thread. And another hilarious dislike to like ratio too, of course.
>And another hilarious dislike to like ratio too, of course
nice but cringe
Someone found it. This was his reaction.
How was Roger so strong?
He had the Will of D.
>Will of D.
Will Smith of Detroit?
He wasn't. He just kept running away from big fights like Linlin and Shiki.
except for when he and Garp took down the Rook's pirate, wiping out god valley in the process
You mean when Garp did all that with St. Figarland Garling aka Moon Man?
>garp takes out rocks
>roger is dicking around in the background just like buggy did at the paramount war
>just like buggy roger gets a huge amount of unearned infamy from doing nothing
Yah, nice king of the pirates
why was Rook so strong?
>big mom
>kaidou
>whitebeard
>Shiki
maybe the whole "3 of the 4 emperors of the sea was part of the crew" had something to do with it
Is luffys father strong? I stopped reading after don flamingo arc
that's funny, it's been like 10 years we still don't know
he fought equally with prime whitebeard didn't he? whitebeard was called one of the strongest if not strongest pirate during his life.
even 72 year old cancer-ridden whitebeard only died to akainu/blackbeard, two of the most powerful beings currently alive in the one piece universe.
i think that alone is supposed to signify that gol d roger was at the top of the most powerful beings during his day.
>fought was WB
>canonically lost
>one of the defining features is his crew running away all the time and roger got a reputation as always making sure his crew was away and safe before running as well
We have no fricking idea what level of strength roger has. It’s very likely not a huge amount though. He had friends due to charisma and smarts, not necessarily strength
he fricked a lot
In one piece you can survive almost anything, as long as you laugh
It truly has been a Raugh Tale
He was just that good
He was a Hakiman
You don't need to watch it. It's the same premise for every arc.
>Island and it's villagers are terrorized
>Luffy and his crew fight evil oppressors and wins

NO! Sometimes they have to rescue a crewmate or a sibling. And there's a million subplots going on at once.

Luffy punches a celestial dragon and frees slaves in Sabaody

Here is a summary till the timeskip
The acting showcased in the trailer is so unfathomably bad lmao
Are you guys stupid or intentionally being obtuse? The one piece castings seems consistent with what oda wanted. Oda said that if one piece happened in the real world that they would come from specific parts of the world such as Luffy being from Brazil.
Did Oda also say that everyone had to be butt ugly? Oh right he actually doesn't really give a frick, he already made his money from the deal and he's living on easy street stretching out the ending of the manga to 2050.
>living on easy street
Actually he's getting eye surgery this month
The guy playing Luffy seems pretty enthusiastic, I like that. The whole "I'm sensing some hostility among the crew" is so out of character though, it's probably going to suck.
>Sonny Chiba's son is Zoro
ok thats kino not gon lie
nothing will ever top the first german opening of the show
much better than the trash burger song but still inferior than the og
it looks awful but i somehow expected even worse
imo a low budget netflix adaptation of an anime can only work if the writers and director are complete goofballs (like The Room) but i think modern writers are too self-aware and have too much ego to do camp correctly. hence instead of stupid nonsensical visual & practical comedy, we'll get quips, and instead of stupid characters acting serious, we'll get serious characters acting stupid while winking at the camera
Emily Rudd is relentlessly pretty
yeah he's a cute boy
Why are they kicking a watermelon with ears
Wow. Nami fricking SUCKS.
>Nami fricking SUCKS.
yeah Oda every night

Faye's costume was absolutely bottom of the list of things wrong with Netflix Bebop
Everything about Faye was a major frick-up for Cowboy Bebop. Every single unnecessary change done to her character. She wasn't the only prominent character thoroughly assassinated.

I'll have my fun and do what I please shitburger. that's a red card for you.
Oh I didn't know you were having fun. Alright.
lmao, you and that anon are not on the same page, his point was that this show(like cosplayers) have this weird look to them where the clothes feel like fake clothes rather than real clothes, like a wig looking like fake hair rather than real hair. It just looks and feels 'off' in both cases.
Eh, I like them using the clothes from the cover stories. Having real humans wear the same clothes all the time will quickly throw you off
the reason why i stopped reading one piece was because the western inspired designs kept getting viewer and viewer while the generic japanese inspired designs become more and more, it kinda made it looks generic and no longer unique.

Alright but whos gonna play Robin/Franky?
they won't make it that far, it wont get a season 2
Zendaya and The Rock
can't wait for east blue SOVL
Most chill opening coming through
why do they dub the songs it seems stupid
I'd forgive it if this was done by japanese with japanese casting, I'm already used to their live-action goofiness, but when westerners do it, looks cringe

Judging from the trailer they'll go the route of only Luffy naming his attacks and everyone else won't. It fits Luffy's character cause he is autistic
What are we mad about this time?

Why is American hybridization so cringe compared to other cultural cross pollinations?
Is there any chance for this to be good?
What would you say are the odds we see later seasons like dresrossa and it doesn't get cancelled before? For the latter I would say 1 in 5000
it was expensive as frick to make, best case we get season 2 but nothing beyond that, likely scenario is it gets cancelled like cowboy bebop
Best case it gets cancelled. Why do people want this crap?
>Wanna enjoy One Piece
>Didn’t watch it as a kid so I can’t get emotionally invested in these two dimensional characters like I can with Dragon Ball
no one asked latinx
They know the people wanna see Sir Crocodile so he’ll be the last episode tease
HE'S MADE-A RUBBAH
How did that happen?
Didn't mind Luffy actually....Zoro and Nami however. The latter gave me Jennifer Lawrence vibes ...yikes
How the frick are they going to cram all of East Blue into 8 episodes and not feel rushed? I think it was confirmed that Baratie and Arlong Park are two episodes each, so maybe they can pull it off. Those two require the most air time since you need to
>establish Baratie and Sanji
>introduce Gin and Don Krieg
>Sanji’s backstory with Zeff
>introduce Mihawk and the 7 Warlords of the Sea

all I’ve got to say is they’d better not frick up the “Help me” scene. I guarantee some Netflix landwhale saw a woman asking a man for help and started ripping their bright pink hair out, but that’s not even the point and it’s one of the best scenes in East Blue.
if the episodes are an hour each its not impossible
will just be a bit rushed
Are there any big youtubers/media outlets with a negative opinion
Or is it all dick sucking?
