    >alright, guys, s1 was a huge success. what are we going to do for s2?
    >you know all the stuff that made s1 good? let's get rid of it! let's keep the adult cast apart and give the teen cast absolutely nothing to do

Frick off with this horseshit. I'd prefer the show never get talked about at all, then people running around making the flimsiest excuses for why a show that essentially remained entirely consistent in terms of writing and acting quality from it's first season to it's second had this made up dramatic dip. It just gets so god damn tiresome seeing people here bend over backwards to invent things to be mad about. If you liked the first season, you really have nothing to complain about in terms of the writing and performances in season 2

what kind of fricking logic is this. Fricking moron

S2 could have been kino. The groundwork was there right up until the biggest bed-shitting of all time in the finale that made all of S2 irrelevant.

This is fricking moronic. The show had the exact same tone and level of quality writing and acting as it did in the first season in the second one. Any excuse presented attempting to demonstrate some dramatic change has just been nonsensical if people here even bother to attempt to actually do that at all. Honestly the people that post here are just so lazy they usually just go "it was sooooo bad, amirite???" and they won't even bother to come up with a substantive difference. Because if you were being honest- pretty much nothing changed as far as the acting and writing goes.

          Anonymous

Yeah but that makes it worse because it means they couldn't get their shit together for the second season; at least their was novelty with the first one

            >actually nothing really changed in terms of quality, but really wasn't that the real problem all along?
What are you talking about? The complaint ITT and that's been on this board since the season ended was that season 1 was great and all the fans here really liked it- but season 2 was this dramatic departure in terms of the level of quality of the writing and the acting performances. And when legitimately pressed on it people usually come up with the most trivial things you've ever heard of, or do what you're doing right how, which is change the argument completely and say "well actually the problem is the show didn't change ENOUGH"

I realize you are out of work and need the actors you despise to come and save you, but don't pretend S2 wasn't a mess. Funny how all the talk of awards dried up with the finale, isn't it?

What are you talking about? We see her make and murder the only real friend she's ever had in her entire life. We where she develops her manipulative nature of not being loyal to any one group or ideology and just going in the direction the wind is blowing at the time. She delivers a fricking baby and nurses Lottie back to health- what do you mean "absolutely nothing to do" It's like you didn't even watch the show

The most interesting characters were always the kids and they had shit to do all season. Of course neither did the adults except Lottie who the just wrote off as crazy in the end because... who the frick knows.

I hated how unconvincing the winter was. It looked like they filmed during summer with fake snow.

That's one complaint I actually agree with- apparently they had to film on a sound stage for a lot of the wilderness 90s stuff though so they could comply with covid bubble restrictions. That's a complaint I think legitimately has merit, but honestly it was a once in a century virus outbreak, so it's unfortunate, but what else could be done?

        Anonymous

It was one of the reasons I stopped watching. The Last of Us managed to film in snow, so why couldn't Yellowjackets?

          Anonymous

The rules for filming during covid were constantly changing, so it really depended on what country they were in, and what state/province in that country and what year/month/even week we're talking about here in terms of their shooting schedule and everyone's availability.
          >x show did x, so why couldn't y show?
because of a million different factors that were moving and changing rapidly. I don't love the fact that they had to shoot a bunch on a sound stage, but like I said I understand why. Global pandemics that shut down the entire planet for months at a time aren't exactly everyday occurrences

I'm just excited that we now seem to have a genuine clear path for how the team in the past gets from
    >tee hee this sure is wacky being stranded out here in the wacky wilderness!
to being an actual cult of murderous shamanistic cannibals that hunt and eat humans in a complex religious ritual. Because at the end of season 1 it seemed almost unbelieveable that we could get from where they left that off to where we see them at the cold open with pit girl

I think people here that shit on the finale did not understand what they saw. That was a huge cliffhanger ending. We have seen time and time again how Misty (and the others as well) falls flat on her face because of her overconfidence matched with her practical incompetence, and that's no different when we see her male mirror image of Walter murder a cop in cold blood and then give pedocop that insane story to tell the police that show up at the compound. There is absolutely no universe where that legitimately holds up- everything about what they're doing there is insanely suspicious. A bunch of people are dead, including cops, there's a murder suspect on the scene as well as a State Senator who's been missing for days since a horrific car accident she was involved in put her wife into a coma. There are like a dozen reasons why as the audience we know this is the exact opposite of what Walter is presenting as- they are all insanely fricked. I think of it how the series finale of the Sopranos ended where we see all those suspicious people in the restaurant with Tony and his family and it just cuts to black. That doesn't mean they all lived happily ever after at the end of that. Our understanding of the series and just basic logic should tell us as the audience "things are about to go really bad for him" right at the point they cut out. And that's exactly where the finale for season 2 leaves us in the adult timeline for Yellowjackets as well

          >absolutely nothing in the show supports it
What do you mean? Literally the entire thrust of the present day timeline from both seasons supports it. The whole reason Shauna is the number one and pretty much only suspect in the the disappearance of Adam Martin is because everyone involved has been insanely over confident in their ability to cover up their involvement in his murder to a really laughable degree when actual police take a single look at it. In the timeline of the show it's been maybe 2 weeks at the longest since Adam Martin has been reported missing- the police were able to track down exactly who did it immediately and it's because of their blatant incompetence and their blindness to that because of their hubris. In the first episode of the season they even point out that people online on Misty's citizen detective subreddit are completely onto the fact Jessica, the woman she kidnapped and was keeping in her basement was murdered and it wasn't an accident. You think they're just going to stop everything they've set up up until this point right now? No, of course not- they are completely fricked in the present timeline when season 3 starts. The absolute most fricked they've ever been in terms of the law
