Fitzcarraldo is even better, although I get why some people rate Aguirre over Fitzcarraldo, as the latter one visually is a bit more academic and some people prefer the gonzo aesthetic ot Aguirre.

And your running through the bushes videos did not look like Aguirre, Herzog wasn't just pointing camera at things randomly, the film is emulating how would a documentary about such a journey look, and that creates great immersion. It may not represent the real people well, but Herzog's interest lie in another type of more melancholy madness. It's a beautiful film, I guess not everyone can like the same things but sometimes it's sad when someone doesn't get what you yourself find very affecting and worthwhile.
