Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, "How Do You Live?" was released on July 14, Do you have any plans for your next work?
>At my age, there is no such thing.
I think that fans of Mr. Tomino are inevitably curious.
>I don't think fans are that stupid. I think you are asking that because of your profession, I am not so dexterous that I can make a film with the intention of pleasing the fans. I can't find original works like Mr. Miyazaki, I don't have the sense to bring that kind of thing to the table, I can only do my own original animation work. In other words, I am a person with a small world. A person who has lived in such a place, How can a person who has lived in such a place think that he can do anything more than that when he is over 80 years old? I don't think he would have the desire to do anything more than that after he turns 80. That's all!
tl;dr
>Old men bad & useless
Incredible stuff, Tomino.
is tomino going senile? Why is miyazaki living rent free in his head so much? Tomino was always a better director than miyazaki anyway.
He just likes to mess with the media. Him and Miyazaki are actually good friends.
>Tomino was always a better director than miyazaki anyway.
Only Gundamgays believe this.
Miyazaki has never created a foundational /m/ anime so of course he's an inferior director.
>Miyazaki has never created a foundational /m/ anime
moron.
Nausicaä and Castle in the Sky are not mecha. Miyazaki himself said he hate mechas
The moving castle is controlled by Calcifer.
Yeah, but that's an adaptation of a work by Diana Wynne Jones
Yeah, he only fundamentally changed the way anime is produce across the entire industry, but he didn't make any toy robot cartoons for me to buy figures so it doesn't really matter.
Normies don't know any better
??? cause interviewer specifically asked about him.
Cinemaphile and tourists utterly BTFO so hard they have to twist it into this bullshit
>he doesn't know
Miyazaki has always been rent free in his mind
why wouldn't he?
If there's one Gundam project? what would it even be? a short like Ring? I don't think he would really be ready for one big project again.
Yamato is the most likely one to happen, but it's not mecha related from what i've read
The last one is the true mystery.
As long as Tomino is still alive, we can keep dreaming he can still come up with a new work
>I don't think fans are that stupid
They are apparently.
Tomino is lying like he always does. No way Okouchi, Yoshida, and Akiman would just randomly have a 10 hour discussion about nothing. He was there.

>Tomino is lying when it fits my narrative, but the other times where it's funny he's 100% serious
Who are you quoting?
He said he had two or three new projects cooking after the G Reco movies.
Gundam producer earlier this year also said he was in talk with Tomino.
I don't think Tomimo will do a new series again. But I could see a short OVA Wings of Rean style, a movie or a short.
We know one of the project might also be based on Yamato.
I mean Miyazaki won an Oscar for crying out loud but all in all it’s friendly competition, plus they are friends anyway
I kinda wished it'd include his opinion about Gwitch, prolly he was legit asked about it but then he descended into a fiery schizoid talking about how it somehow connected to Ukraine-Russia conflict so they ended up not including it to the article.
Seems like you're the schizoid one here.
It'll be his opinion on almost any other AU
>Didn't watch don't care
>his opinion about Gwitch
How can he comment on a show that he never watched or had any connection to?
Repeating my question from a few days ago, who would win in a fist fight between Tomino and Miyazaki? No weapons, both of them as they are now, no tag team partners a la Anno or Yas
I'd put my money on Miyazaki. Tomino has a really sickly look, I get the feeling we could get taken down by a gust of wind.
Miyazaki is a long-term smoker who's lived a life of soft luxury, Tomino is an energetic laborer who has vigorous sex with his wife every night. Miyazaki wouldn't stand a chance.
Miyazaki only consumes partially cooked noodles and cigarettes while the true soldier of god Tomino’s diet consists of his wife’s pussy and a healthy mix of grains, fish, fruit and veg and the blood of Bandai executives. He’d snap Miyazaki in half like a twig
>and the blood of Bandai executives
It's the other way around, anon.
He got the last laugh with Turn A and G Reco
>last laugh
He only got to make those shows because his Banrise overlords gave him they permission to do so. G-Reco wasn't even supposed to be Gundam but Tomino was forced to bend the knee for marketability.
He does physical labor in his spare time like picking up the trashing/cleaning up his neighborhood.
Tomino is an active smoker though isn't he? he smoked like a chimney on that Brain Powerd doc. he likes swimming though so at least he's keeping his body fit.
I think he stopped, all the behind the scenes stuff of everything past Brain Powerd (to my knowledge) don’t show him lightning up. Compare this to Miyazaki who smokes three packs per interview
Tomino quit because he wanted to be around his grandchildren more without adverse effects.
Have you seen a more recent image of Miyazaki? He looked like the old chicken man back in the later 90s.
>Select your character!
Do we want a Gundam, other mecha, or Byston Well story from him as his last work?
I want Tomino to make whatever he wants. And I don't care how goofy it is.
No more Gundam please. Not really fond of the garbage baggage that the Gundam name brought to G-Reco.
it's 3 projects (one being named Himiko Yamato) so one would be gundam related, one would be him revisiting his old non-gundam work, one would be completely orginal anime. Alternatively he might just go apeshit and make three new anime orginals for shits and giggles.
Miyazaki is an easy "rival" for creators because he's popular and he makes stuff that appeals to the masses. He loves action, vehicles and guns, but at the same time otaku fans still see him as an aloft outsider. Miyazaki is essentially the perfect target for them. The only person who is a league above Miyazaki in terms of purity is Isao Takahata, because never once tried to make mecha or action, but he is still extremely adorned on a level that almost no one else is.
What's wrong with G Reco? I haven't seen it and am not sure if I should.
Nothing's wrong with it
