First movie has easily the best script

Second one is also good. Also, Gary Oldman.

It's odd how hard the 3rd one fell off. Even my 8 year old nephew said it was weird.

I'm looking forward to watching another established franchise get a fresh new character in as the lead completely organically.

Franchise fell into mediocrity with the second movie, which had the potential to be great, yet was brought down by a middling script.

is nobody pointing out that the plot is exactly the same as the third movie with extremely minor alterations/name changes?
KFP peaked with the first two, three and four are cash-ins.

2 was already a cash-in, judging by the script quality (half-baked lore, weak jokes, stiff conversations, no post credits scene like in 1)

        >no post credits scene like in 1
        literally the panda village scene
KFP2 is kino and a fantastic addition to the franchise, if they'd wanted to keep producing masterpieces they never should've taken the easy way out and retconned Shen murdering all the pandas. Po should've been the last Panda.

2 wasn't a masterpiece. Not even close. It's too half-baked in the lore department and the jokes are unintelligent. Also, the peawiener is kinda one-dimensional.

            >Also, the peawiener is kinda one-dimensional.
You're silly. His interactions with the goat were great and revealed an insecurity that drove everything he did.

Who was the goat to him anyway? It's never stated if she was a major figure of his life at one point.

                >It's never stated if she was a major figure of his life at one point.
she's literally told the fortune that led to him committing genocide against the pandas

She didn't even tell it to him. He just overheard her telling that to his parents.

so that precludes the idea that he didn't view the soothsayer as an important figure in his life? if she was nobody to him he would've forgotten about within 5 minutes, but he takes her that seriously that he's willing to wipe out an entire species.
I'd say she meant something, alright.

1 is the franchise peak. 2 is just a movie.

Poe during the 1st movie is infinitely worse than during the 2nd movie. At least in the 2nd movie he has a cool scene where he regains his childhood memories. The 1st movie he is just a moron the whole way through.
Shifu, Tai Lung, Oogway, and the 5 were the only good parts of the 1st movie

She doesn't have to be, she was a mystical voodoo spiritseer or whatever and he respected that ability and that's why he kept her around, because he was very insecure about his own fate. Honestly it would've cheapened their relationship if there was some gay shit like "oh yeah and she was his private tutor or whatever at some point," it's not necessary to go into the bones of it.

I hate this attitude people in a post-Star Wars prequels world have that you need to go into excruciating detail over every character's history. You don't.

They cut down a lot on their newer productions in general. Everything is sub 100 million now because they figured out they can just drop a ton of frames for the action scenes and people still like it because whacky camera angles.
