You can call me a onions consoomer or whatever, but I fricking love Pirates of the Caribbean, at least the first three movies.

There might be a couple plotholes / unexplained phenomena after Davy Jones is introduced, but certainly nothing Rian Johnson level.

And, most importantly, it was the last thing Disney ever made that had testosterone.

There was an epidemic of posting a while back (maybe around the trump influx from reddit) where every post would have tbh (t b h)and senpai (f a m) in the post. It was the worst so they introduced a filter, not dissimilar to the old Roody Poo filter. S o y got characterised in the same grouping as an often spammed word, it improved the state of boards quite a lot, though they have since fallen

The first three are kino. High budgets, Verbinski got to do whatever he wanted.
Fourth is shit because of the director.
Fifth was alrighty. Much more like the first three.

You at least have to admit the cinematography of Dead Man's Chest was pretty spectacular, even if the story wasn't quite as coherent as the first one.
The three-way sword fight on the waterwheel is one of the best action scenes ever filmed

Yeah, I pretend 4 & 5 do not exist. 1-3 are a trilogy I re-watch annually, same as LOTR. I rate the Pirates Trilogy = 10/10, 10/10, & 8/10(this movie works when watching it directly after the 2nd, but I can see how it does not work as solo viewing. Dead Mans Chest you could actually enjoy and keep track of if you somehow did not see the first one. Curse of the Black Pearl is a classic 10/10 and one of the best adventure movies ever.

The Maelstrom in the third one might be the most overlong sequence in film history. Otherwise they're good.

The first Pirates is one of my favorite movies ever. The second one is ok. The remaining sequels suck.

I just watched them again the other day. I watched the first three, then even though the others were playing I just lost interest.
